Had a great time in Esky today, car ran good, wish I would have put on a different gear for the main though, oh well, Perry , Hock and I had a good battle, Perry ended what he calls a long dry spell, hock finished second and I got 3rd, about 3/4 of a lap behind Perry. We were all flying in the main, I TQed with a 56 Perry did a 59 and Hock and I didn't make the line and finished with 58, The track really started coming in during the main. The 8th of Jan. should be fun. The track was a little bumpy but considering that carpet has been rolled up and basically not used for 3 years it wan't too bad. Casey I don't think Matt has any personals at all, so I doubt you will be borrowing one.

See you all in the Soo on Sat.

Hey Mel ,Bob, Guys
Pickard St. is now 4 lanes all the way to Linclon St. so you will have to watch
for Bradley Street.[Pickard doesn't narrow at Bradley any more]
The address for the West Intmeadiate School is 440 South Bradley, Mt.Pleasant MI. 48858 if you want to do a map quest. Jon

Oh,there is one more thing that I catch hell for every year. On the north side of Pickard St. Bradley St changes into Bamber Rd. so the sign on the corner you turn on says Bradley on the south side and on the north side it says Bamber rd. [like its my job to fix the street signs]

Here are the directions to the race in Mt. Pleasant one more time.
From US127 take the 2nd Mt. Pleasant exit [M20 exit] turn west on Pickard St. [Pickard and M20 are the same on the east side of Mt. P] go 3 mile west on Pickard to Bradley St./ Bamber RD. Turn south on Bradley St. go 3/4 mile to the school. Use entrance on west side of school.

If your coming from west M20 turn on to Bradley St. at 2nd red light when you get to Mt. P

Is everbody confused yet? JBhay joonny that dosent help me im on the west side by gr

jonny
12-06-2004, 12:55 AM
If your coming from GR. take 131 north to m46 east, go east on m46 to m66, take m66 to Remus then take m20 east to Mt Pleasant. When you get to MP turn left at the 2nd red light which is Bradley St. and go 1/4 mile to MP Jr. High. If this doesn't help look up the address and print yourself a map on map quest. Hope to see ya there. JB

Had a great race in the soo yesterday, I will post the results as soon as I figure out how to extract them from the laptop, I'd like to thank everyone for their patience with our computer dificulties during the day, I'd like to thank Matt from Thunder Valley hobbies for bringing his AMB RC system over for us to try out.
I'd like to thank Jake for all the questions he had to answer via cell phone so we could figure out where we went wrong with the program.

I'd like to congratulat Chuck on his "A" main win in pancar and I will post the results as soon as I can.

Hi there,

My name is Mark West, and I'll be spending a week in Soo Canada between December 27th to Jan 1st. I would like to do some racing while I'm up, and I've seen the schedule for the racing at the Big Bear Arena, but it looks like I'm out of luck there... Is there any other indoor carpet racing in Northern Michigan during this time period?? How long of a drive is Mt. Pleasant, and will they be hosting a race during the holidays???

Thanks for your help,...

Mark

ps cool thread by the way....

Hi Mark,
The drive to Mt.Pleasant is about 3 hours from the Soo. However, the next race there won't be till Jan. 22nd. There are two other tracks close by that will probably be racing. One is in Lansing that is suppose to be open the last weekend in Dec. the other is in Bay City. Not sure what their schedule is though. There is another one in Grand Rapids that races on Sundays but that is about another 1 1/2 drive from MP. Lansing and Bay City are about 45 min from MP.

Hi Roadsplat,...

I checked out the locations of Lansing Grand rapids, and Bay City. MSN Maps puts Bay City about 3 1/2 hours from the Soo down I-75. Do you have any more details (or website) for their racing programs?

The weather will dictate if I'm willing to make the drive or not...

Thanks again,

Mark

They May be racing in Travese City, Mi that weekend, Look up Oviatts Rc in the Yahoo Yellow pages, they race Touring cars every Sunday, It's about 2 1/2 hours south of the Soo.

Sorry we are not racing that weekend up here in the soo, we race twice a month. where do you usually race at?

Here is a link to their web site. http://www.xtremecr.com/

Here is a link to a thread on HobbyTalk. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=92098

You may want to e-mail them cause I see conflicting dates between their web site and what is posted on their thread here. Maybe one of the guys that race there reguarly will jum,p in here and post when exactly they will be racing.

Hi Joel,
I live in Niagara Falls, and visit family in the Soo Ontario, and Bruce Mines, ON. I race here locally in St. Catharines, Niagara, and in Buffalo, NY. My 'home' club I suppose is called the Allanburg R/C Racing Club. It is at a local community center, and we race every Sunday night from about November to early April. I did a quick webpage for it, and it is www.vaxxine.com/mwest/rc. Check it out if you like... It's not done yet...

I've been lurking in this thread for some time, and tried to arrange a trip in November for your Trophy Race. I got your information from the hobby shop in Soo Michigan, and found this forum. If I would have know that you were racing during this time last year, I could have made it. Bummer... I will try to arrange a trip so that I can hit your big spring race. I usually don't have much trouble making an excuse to go up that way so that my wife can visit with her mom, and the grandparents can enjoy our 18 month old...

The Traverse City group sounds good, but I called a number that I found back on page 59 of this thread, and the fellow said that the only racing that they will have is on Dec. 26th.

The reason that I am looking for some racing is that I have a cousin that is very interested in R/C racing, and he would like to see what it is all about.

Any other suggestions for racing over the holidays???

Thanks,

Mark

Joel - I just open the text file Autoscore creates in Notepad, hit ctrl-A to select all, then use "copy" (ctrl-c). Use the "code" tag (looks like a # sign in the HobbyTalk toolbar), then "paste" (using ctrl-v) the text you just copied in between the markers. It still sometimes messes up the spacing of the columns, but you won't have too many lines to fix to make it look right. It leaves most of the spaces alone, so the columns actually line up.

$34.95 from Stormer part # ASC3849
Or if you want to stick with Associated talk to Matt at our next Race about getting the new tc4.
He will probably make you a good deal on one as they are not that expensive considering how new they are.

Quote: Hey george , How do ya like that battery pack???????

Joel, The pack looks great, all wrapped up pretty in the package.

Actually, I will use it, the first time I have to race stock rather than spec, or when Kevin and Rick get bored and dig out the mod legends.

Thanks again,
George

I'll be there Hock, I'll be bringing 1 other with me and I'm pretty sure Casey is going and bringing 1 or 2 more with him.

Should be a good time, joel
