Jamie,
When are you going to change your member status from "member" to "Lady Killer"........???:)
I guess the Lady Killer qoute would make more sense if I had watched the movie. You will have to explain it to me sometime.
I want to race.........

Hey guys i am in the process of changing my TC3 over to 64 pitch. Any suggetsions as to what spur they use for it? Also what pinions should i stay in? Was thinking of 18 through 24. Not sure about the final roll out on my touring car as i don't have a book on it. I do have one for my XXX-s but since the difs are differnt it doesn't help me any. Any help would be great. Lets Race Guys. My pan car is going to be super fast this yr. =) Casey said i could run a 19 turn in stock class to keep up with you guys hehehe. J/K.

19 in a stock class.......... Based on what I heard that won't even work. Rumor has it Greg Dean was blistering fast last year in Stock. I hope I can get up there to race in the Soo this winter. I miss that place.

Tourer - Most guys running TC3's use 100 or maybe 96 spurs. As for pinions, that depends on what class. 18-24 might work for Modified (8-12 turns), but for stock/19-turn you'll need bigger pinions in the 33-40 range (I'm talking Road Course gearing here, add 2-3 teeth for oval). The TC3's diffs are 2.5:1, I think the Losi is around 1.83:1.

Casey - If Jon didn't want people selling stuff at his races, WE'D NEVER SEE GEORGE!

That was not geared toward Russ at all, it was a praise to Greg Dean. He really found something that worked at the end of the season. The man was on a streak.

Hey hey it's all good. =) I need all the speed i can get in pan car. I know i still have a few mod arms i can put in a stock can. ;) Thanks for the help with the the 64 pitch. Why do the pinions need to be so large? Are they doing the same thing with the XXX-s or keeping in the 19-24 range? Not sure why you need that large of pinions for touring......As for Jamie...... I'll see you at the races if you are able to come. LoL

The Losi would run smaller pinions due to the internal "gear ratio" of the drive pulleys. (I'm not sure what pinions Losi drivers actually use because I haven't got one). Also, the foam tires we run indoors are smaller than the rubber tires most tracks use outdoors. The final "rollout" number (0.9 to 1.2) is still WAAAY below what pan cars use.

Gee Kevin, what a way to start the season. Saying that I only show up to sell stuff.

Quote: Casey - If Jon didn't want people selling stuff at his races, WE'D NEVER SEE GEORGE!

I think that I make a real contribution. In the C main I help the other drivers, In the B, I am an inspiration, and in the A, I am a rolling road block. You shouldn't be rough on me, I tell everyone that you are my mentor.:freak:

P.S. If anyone needs Legend stuff, see me, not Casey:p

WoW!~ well i heard from someone that they were using a losi and using the 19-24 pinion range. Don't see why the same wouldn't be true for using the same ones on the associated? Ohh well will give it a try. I am hoping my touring car runs smoother on the road coarse. I know my touring car will be smoother with the 64 pitch but just trying to pick up a little bit more speed.....Thanks again for the help. If anyone else hears anything keep me posted please on here.

Tourer, the Losi has a 1.83/1 transmission, the TC3's tranny is 2.5/1. To caculate rollout, take tire diaX3.14(pi)/spur/pinionXtransmission ratio.
example tire dia is 2.2". multiply that by pi(3.14)=6.908. 100tooth spur divided by 26 tooth pinion =3.846 ratioX2.5 tranny ratio =9.615 ratio. 6.908 tire circumference/9.615=1.0000399 rollout. for every revolution of the motor the car moves foward 1". So if you knew thier rollout, you could recalculate to your tranny. Using their same gears, you will over rev your motor. It won't be as fast because thier tranny ratio is taller.

Hey Mel ,Bob, Guys
Pickard St. is now 4 lanes all the way to Linclon St. so you will have to watch
for Bradley Street.[Pickard doesn't narrow at Bradley any more]
The address for the West Intmeadiate School is 440 South Bradley, Mt.Pleasant MI. 48858 if you want to do a map quest. Jon

Oh,there is one more thing that I catch hell for every year. On the north side of Pickard St. Bradley St changes into Bamber Rd. so the sign on the corner you turn on says Bradley on the south side and on the north side it says Bamber rd. [like its my job to fix the street signs]

Here are the directions to the race in Mt. Pleasant one more time.
From US127 take the 2nd Mt. Pleasant exit [M20 exit] turn west on Pickard St. [Pickard and M20 are the same on the east side of Mt. P] go 3 mile west on Pickard to Bradley St./ Bamber RD. Turn south on Bradley St. go 3/4 mile to the school. Use entrance on west side of school.

If your coming from west M20 turn on to Bradley St. at 2nd red light when you get to Mt. P

Is everbody confused yet? JB
