I'd like to thank all the out of towners that came up and over to our race , ecspecially Chuck(who drove 5 1/2 hours) and Butch(he drove 5 1/4 hours), they were the long travelers for this race. Some that I told I did nothing after work but eat and dyno motors mon.-thurs. last week, told me I was crazy, but I was going to make sure I did good at my own trophy race this year, I always end up doing really bad at my own races. Well all the hard work paid off in qualifying as I TQ'ed 4-cell stack pancar, 57 laps, that was a lap more than the TQ did at the warmup race 2 weeks ago. If I only could have backed it up in the main, I had a bad glitch for the first 4 laps, then I got punted right off the track because my car just swerved in front of another car, he hit me and I barrel rolled right off the track, the marshall grabbed my car and put me back on track and what do ya know, no more glitch, the bad part is nobody else inthe building was on 86 except for me, not sure why the car was glitching but I'm glad it stopped, I ended up catching up to 3rd place(casey), as he was up against the wall, but I couldn't hold him off and he got me by about 1/2 of an inch at the line, his car was definatly faster than mine but I was trying to hold him off with some defesive driving tactics but he got me coming to the line. The amazing part is, we never touched once during our little 3 lap battle for 3rd place. I'll post the results in the next post. We missed you guys from Escanaba this weekend, wish you could have made it. You would have been in for some rough driving conditions. We got over a foot of snow from about 4 p.m. friday night till Sat. Morning. Wish Big Rob would have brought his plow so he could have done my driveway Sat. Morning. Hope to see you all this weekend as we are racing again this weekend in the soo. Later, Joel P.S. points will be posted before too much longer.
