Casey,My hats off to you,That is a very unselfish thing that you are offering to the people here and to George. That is what R/C is supposed to be about, helping others and having fun.I know that if i had the means and stuff that you have i would do the same.makes me proud to say that i know you personally and that we really enjoy racing with you all.You have helped us out many times in the tire and parts dept and we are very grateful for that,we would have been out of the race a few times had it not been for you and your R/C store that you carry with you.Thanx for all you have done for us U.P.ers and we will see you at the races.

Thanks Scott
People give me crap about all the stuff I bring and it seems like they are doing it more often than they used to.
I am glad soembody appreciates it.
That is why I started doing this because i was tired of going to races and seeing people break and not finish the race. I have a couple of deals with different shops so that I can do it and it also helps the shops out because they still make money of me and they don't have to carry a product to much when they know that I have it in my inventory.
I am going to slim down my parts some for next year and try not to have so many used stuff
I have right now 3 10L30's that need put back together and 2 12L3's that also needs building
So I have some work on my hands to do before the race
I hope to see you guys there on Friday night for practice. Again thanks for the boost I am glad that I have been A help for you. Thanks again

I got a ? for you.
Everytime I go and download a Pict whether it is from a camera or a disk My damned Puter makes the file into Quick Time. I don't have quick time on my puter though or atleast I don't think so
When I go to open a pict it shuts down my puter and gives me an error of 017fbff9dfff
It is ticking me off You or anybody else got any insite on it
I have picture it 2000 on my puter also and I can open them taht way fine but I want to be able to click on them and open that way

Just to set the record straight on the "Marcy Rules" (Jon's little inside joke), it basically boils down to the same rules we used at USA Raceways. Which means box stock except for a few minor things that make the cars more durable. The allowed changes are:

1) You can run an aluminum left rear hub, since the plastic one doesn't always stay tight and Bolink has NEVER shipped a kit with 2 non-wobbly plastic hubs.

2) You can run either a Street spec or stock motor. (Not a hybrid motor with parts from each).

3) Any size 48 pitch gears (especially for the next race, since we don't know how big the track will be).

4) You can use the Bolink "supertruck" bumper.

5) Street Spec or kit Bolink tires. Green, Blue, or Orange (front only).

6) 4-cell Street Spec batteries with some sort of connector (don't have to keep the Dreaded Tamiya plug).

7) Extra shaft collars are allowed on the tie rods to keep them from slipping.

8) Race length is 5 minutes.

9) The front kingpin brace sold by Bolink is allowed.

10) Do not cut the windows out of the body. It can be hazardous to the marshall's fingers (Jake can relate to this).

11) (George's favorite) Racing Legends means never having to say you're sorry.

Thanks Kevin, I always wondered what "your" rules were. :)

With the windows thing, what did I do? I don't 'member. :(
You gonna go to the Soo with us?

Casey, find a picture that opens in Quicktime. Left click it once! Do not double click it, it should now be highlighted blue. RIGHT click on it and choose "open with" from the menu that pops up. Find the PictureIt in the list of progs that come up and click it once, don't double click it yet! Go to near the bottom of that box, and check the box that says "Always use this program to open this file type." and then hit ok. you will need to do this for EVERY flavor of pic that you want to open in picture it, being jpg, jpeg, gif whatever. You can do this for any file, to make it open in any program, although, if you try to open a pic file in a database program....it may not work. So make sure the prog that pick for a file really will view it. Good luck, LMK if you need more help.

Scott and George, yes I did do it in a very expensive program. I did it in Adobe Photoshop 6. It is really nice, really hard to use, really powerful and really expensive!!!

Hey guys, anybody going to Traverse city this weekend for their oval trophy race?

What about Mount pleasant next weekend?
Who all is going? can somebody please send me directions from 27 so I can find the place.

thanks guys, Joel

I can't make it but I believe Keith and Greg will be there. As for directions Scott or Kingpin come from that way. I think you would take the first MP exit. Turn right on M-20. Go to Bradley turn left. The road narrows to two lanes at Bradley. The school is on the right side about a mile down. Turn right in the first drive past the school. Not for sure where we go in at cause we are racing in the gym this time. Doors open at Ten.
If I am wrong on the directions someone please correct me.

Scott - I'm all out of 2400's, except for a few assorted cells that I can't match up with enough others. I'm currently matching a case of Sanyo 3000HV's, so I'll have them soon. Not sure if they'll be done by the 30th, but maybe.

Jake - I was referring to your aversion for sharp objects near your hands (i.e. the "bagel cutter incident").

All right Kevin....I see where your coming from, I just didn't ever expect to have you pokin' fun at me too..... :)

Joel, Mel's dirs are spot on, only one problem! When on M20 and you get to Mission st (by Meijer) you need to go straight! Signs will tell you to turn left to stay on 20, you don't want to do that. Go straight through that light and when you see a sign for the road turning into 2 lanes instead of 4 you need to turn left on Bradley, if it gets down to one lane in each direction than you went to far. Other than that follow Mels directions, I dunno which door will be open either at the school. :)

Casey, hopefully my last post helped you out instead of confusing you.

HI all, Went to T.C. yesterday and had a blast. Jamie hanson set a new track record 70 laps about 1 sec faster than keith last time. My best was a 67 lap run, still can't believe that I did 4 more laps than my previous best of 63. now that I have upped my best by that much they just had to go and up the track record by 4 laps since the last time I raced......go figure. Oh well, I ended up finishing 2 nd in the "B" main, chaz lead the whole thing, I made a change to the car before the main that i thought would help, boy was I wrong......lol I had a terrible push in the car and didn't have the corner speed to keep up with chaz, and it was all I could do to keep Mike Ford behind me. It was a good fun race, only one knuckle head complaining before we even got started....no need to mention names as anyone who has ever raced there will know the out of towner I am talking about. Nice trophies and a day of funfilled racing, hopefully next weekend in Mount Pleasant will bring more of the same....see you all there.

Thanks for the direction Mel and Jake

Hey George where did you get that rate? I talked to the manager at the Days Inn and told him about the price you had and it was $9 cheaper than he told me. I got him to take $15 of his normal rate.
He did tell me that if I found out where you got that rate he would have to give it to everybody else. That would make it the lowest rate of a name brand Hotel
BTW what calsses are you running up here

Casey,
Jake was the one who made the phone call to the motel. I am sure he will see this post and get back to you on the rate.
I will be bringing a pan car and probably a stock truck. I have been racing RC for 12 years, but I am a novice in both of those classes. I usually run Legends and Outlaw sprint cars. I see you have a novice class. What kind of vehicles do you run in novice?

Mel, I rebuilt the side shocks on my 13 last night. They are the EXACT same length as the ones that I used at the Jan MP race (your extras) down the 1/1000th of an inch ( I will admit that one of them is only "close", it isn't a 1/1000th of inch, only 1/100th). Man I like these digital calipers that my roomate got me. :) And yes it took me two hours do to both of them, that is why they are so close. I think all I will need your help on is to re-set the tweak. The front end has not changed, so it is still good.
Thanks,

Hey Guys,
Got back from mount pleasant at a respectable 9 P.M. last night.
What a fun race, Kind of a wierd track, never race on green gray and brown carpet all at the same time.
Qualified better than I thought I would, Can't believe I had to run in the "A" with greg, Jamie, Mel, Kevin and the other guy, sorry can't remember his name, at any rate they were all way faster than me but due to some unfortunate luck that went kevin's way I finished 5th.
It was fun to put a couple more names with faces.
