Since no one has answered Greg's question on the other thread, I will ask it here. Does any one know if there will be any racing in Lansing this weekend??

Yeah, I'm almost done. I will be done FOR GOOD in August. :) Married in september....SOO in december....Snowbirds in february....and Soo in April. I got my next year planned out! LoL yeah right...... I think that September event will have a large bearing on my travel plans.... LoL :D

I'm ready to be done. And ready to be married, with the condition of Chris's grandpa, there has been quite discussion of moving the wedding up, I don't think at this point it will happen though. Looking worse now for him, liver and lung cancer are confirmed, possibly prostate as well. :( If anyone knows anything about prostate cancer, please e-mail me.

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask but I am going to do it anyway

WOW , AM I whooped.
What a long weekend, us yoopers didn't fair too well at the nats.
I'm not sure what was wrong with us but we both lacked speed all weekend.
I had 2 half way decent runs that got me into tha "A" in the trackside cup class, mind you this class was supposed to be slower than the stock class, i did 44 laps in the 1st qualifier so i thought I would be good in stock, boy was I wrong, I did 43 laps in every qualifier and that got me into the big F main, where I really sucked cuz I didn't even get to turn 1 lap, I had a motor spring come loose I guess when I put the motor in, I tried to fire it up for the main and nothing, I seen the spring but it fell out into my had while trying to get it back in and it was all over, no time to pull the motor to get it back on.
In the Cupo "A" main I was flyin in the first main got in a wreck (my fault, lack of patience) I managed to get back up to 5th by the end, in the 2nd main I got beat up and hacked into the wall on the second lap, blew out both side shocks when my car hit the wall upside down, 3rd main I was slow, story of my nats, i was pissed cuz i was slow and in turn i drove my slow car like crap and finished 9th overall, I qualified 10th so I gues I can say I finished better than I started.
Since I made the "A" main you can look for my picture in RC Car Action(yeah right, they give oval zero attention so if the nats do make it in they won't have room for the cup class photo).
I had a great time and I can't believe I haven't seen any Zubiebashing.

Kingpin, rules for cup class are the same as stock except you must run a full body with rear bumper and no wing, personally I think it should be run with spec tires or something, there were a couple of guys almost as fast as the stock guys, i was faster with my cup body than i was with my stock body???????? not sure why.

Count me in on the cup class. Spec tires? We can take a vote. Lets here some talk on it.

hock
04-30-2003, 08:36 AM
The Cup Class is not a spec class. the only difference between that and 4-cell stockl is they don't run a wing or cut out the rear end.

Also the body must be painted in a NASCAR style. 3 numbers.

any foam tires, roar legal stock motor and any chassis you want to run.

I need a vacation to rest up from the fantastic weekend.

Time to put foams away and get Cap Tires out for the Tri-Clone. I am going to attend Region 5 in lansing this fall

Cup Class = :)
Spec Tires = :(
I imagine some will want to run spec tires, and its something that we can debate and http://www.rcpimp.com/rc/images/smiley/fight.gif for some time now, just like the 4 -vs- 6 cell thing. Thank god 4-cell won.

Mainly because I don't want to spend the money on Spec tires, I don't really think it would even things out that much. And I can use the same tires in many classes, cup/stock/19t. Besides, Chris won't let me spend $100 on tires anyway, once we are married. LoL :)

Thats my vote. Besides, I got two cars now anyway.

04-30-2003, 12:38 PM
heh, Just wait until Capped tires become spec at national events. I for one think that it's a sweet idea. It forces more concentration on setting up the chassis instead of tossing the next stickiest compound on the car to get it to handle.

Jake , the only reason I suggested spec tires is the cost issue and the competition issue.
With spec tires you only have 3 to choose from, what are there 15-20 different tire compounds out there, I think spec tires would have made the nats alot more competetive than it was, i was running some really screwed up tire combinations on my car. it would have been nicer to just go with the good old greens and blues and work with the shocks and springs a little bit than trying to keep up with the cjanging track conditions.
It was a fun class to run and with almost everybody running some kind of NASCAR paint scheme it was really cool to watch too, exspecially when the 2 tony stewart cars were running side by side, that was wierd to watch.

Anyway, to be honest those bodies with no wings is what stock should be racing all the time, put the wings on and cut the rear bumpers off for 19t and mod, take those wings off and leave the bumper on in stock, it loosens the car up and makes you really work to bet a good set-up and drive your behind off in the race.

Hey , has anybody heard from Casey, i have seen him on here since we got back.
Later, Joel

05-04-2003, 08:05 PM
Hey guys,

i know i haven't raced with you all yet but i love the idea of stock with no wings and stuff i think it would be easier for me to learn . i really didn't realize how much stuff to tune on these was basically the same as tuning on the big car. any way just my two cents i can't wait till carpet season again this time i will make time to run.

Howler
05-05-2003, 04:44 PM
Any body out there? lol. Can you tell that carpet season is done? nobody is talkin' .

mel
05-05-2003, 04:53 PM
Not only is the carpet oval done here in Michigan oval is done cause at this time there are no outdoor oval tracks that are running.
We will have to drive three hours or more to race outdoors. Ohio or Indiana is where we have to go.
