Casey It's not that we won't don't like you. I'm still trying to figure out why you guys didn't cancel your race this weekend and come down? The best oval race in the state of Michigan in years......??? :D
Jake
I think they are afraid you would put the smack on them YOOPERS hey! I do agree with you that it has been along time since any out of staters have been to Michigan for a race.
I also understand where Casey and Joel are at. You have to support your home race track. Good luck with your racing up there. I know Casey is going to need it.
WIGMAN 01-14-2003, 09:48 PM Reasons for not canceling race to come to lansing.
1. NOT ENOUGH NOTICE. We would still have to pay rental fee to Big Bear even though we were not there.
2. Of the only 15 or so people we have from week to week only 4 race pancars.
3. Our schedule was out in October, if they wanted us to come they should have scheduled around us not the other way around.
Last year it was the Carpet State championships this year it's the warm ups for the Birds. I suppose they will schedule the state champs on one of our race days this year too.
Hope this clears things up.
Joel
walterhenderson 01-15-2003, 12:41 AM Joel,
Whats up? I understand what you are faced with in the great white upper north. The scheduling isn't to hirt you guys in the up. It is the right time to host an event like this with only a few weeks to the birds. There are alot of racers in the region going so it is to help them prepare for the race. As for the state champs they are the first weekend in march. Here again it is the weekend before the roar carpet onroad nats to help racers to prepare. Walter
1Metric Ton 01-15-2003, 02:00 PM Hey everyone thanks for the Info on the tires....I am looking into that site that was posted. Yea I was asking about touring car tires. I run greens on mine and Jake you saw my car in action..I was fast but i am chewing my tires up? Can't figure out why? My body is not touching them. Guess we have some hard hitters up here is all LoL. Maybe i will have to try a different set of tires? Who knows? Ohh well. Thanks again for the info. Russell
rowle1jt 01-15-2003, 06:37 PM Leading Edge announced a new car, check it out at www.leadingedgerccars.com
Later :D
Jake
WIGMAN 01-15-2003, 09:35 PM Hey Walter, I know I sounded like a dork in the above post, I'm just pissed cuz I can't go, As for the State champs are they gonna split it up and run oval one day and road-course the next like they did last year?
If they are , what are the chances oval will be on sunday?
Unfortunatley we have a race on the first weekend of March, as much as my wife would hate me , i would drive down Sat. night after our race to race oval on sunday.
Good luck to all this weekend in Lansing.
Later, Joel
NTwigs 01-15-2003, 09:51 PM Hey Joel, what's up?? We are planning to have State Champs the first weekend in March, but, that may change based on what Larry's decides to do with his version of the "State Champs".
We will run Oval on Friday and Saturday and Road Course, Saturday evening and Sunday. I hope you'll be able to attend.
-Nick

Howler 01-16-2003, 06:31 PM Chuck, get ready to shake that Terminatior down. Mine was flyin' last night. Consistant 4.1's. The next closest was a 4.3. Track was really grippy. If I can loosen it up a bit, I'm sure that a high 3.9 to 4.0 is in the shadows. See you on Wed.

Jamie Hanson 01-19-2003, 03:26 AM HEY CASEY,
Buddy when is the next soo race. I want to make it up there at least once this winter. I have not had a chance yet. I saw you did 56 laps......Is that good or bad? Well.........I have been convinced. The GPs are a better cell. Someone on Saturday loaned me a pack for the main and yup, they were awesome. So, I guess I seriously have to call you and see what you have.
Also, Are you and Joel going to make it to Mount Pleasant this comming Saturay????? It is going to be a good time.
Hello!!!!!
I'm Back. Thaks god!! To much Tequilla Senoir. I may need rehab.Wow!
I was wondering about your dad Perry. Glasd to hear they are going to keep him till it's better. Since he won't stay off his feet an all.
I will be racing this Wednesday.
t3rc1 01-19-2003, 11:07 PM  Hey Casey.Jacob said that he took it easy on you last time so be ready for the next time:lol: :D

Howler 01-20-2003, 09:34 PM No dobut that he's still recovering from his near fatal whale attack, lol. How bout it Hock, did ya free willy?
chuck47 01-20-2003, 09:57 PM Howler I'll be there on the 29th I'll work those batteries also in the mean time I think that is part of my problem also, not to mention the driving. I have to get a new speed controller for my back up car if I want to race 6 cell just for driving time. Novak said my controller is out of date and they won't replace it with a refurbished one with this one as partial payment as they did last time I got this one. So it will be a while before I get one I'm going to look at other controllers and see what I can get.
chuck47 01-20-2003, 10:01 PM Welcome back Hock I'm sure your eyes are sore from the tasty eye candy there also hey:eek: the tequila probably had a bit but not as much as the candy:devil: Take it easy so you can focus on racing now, see you soon.
Still suffering after affects:( I'm trying to catch up on my sleep.
I gotta get car stuff done tonight, I just gotta.
Howler 01-21-2003, 10:23 AM Chuck, I'll see you then. If your going to be here on the 29th, I'll have a lot more time to help you with the car and tires. If your looking for a new speedo, I'd seriously look at an LRP. They have worked well for me. The SR and V7 are what I've been running.
rowle1jt 01-21-2003, 10:46 AM You can get used Cyclones for a pretty good price now too. :)
rowle1jt 01-21-2003, 02:19 PM Hock, now that your back, I figured we would get a big long run down of all the fun you had, the gallons of tequilla you drank and all the skimpy bikinii's. Come on man, lets here it..... LoL :)
Sorry busy right now catching up on work but will list it later.
jake ygm
chuck47 01-21-2003, 03:46 PM Novak has been good to me but the same trouble all the time is not good although I did consider a cyclone, LRP I hear is good and I am considering one of those, also I want to get more information on a keyence so I guess it will be a little while:)
rowle1jt 01-21-2003, 05:45 PM Kevin, is there a motor limit in "Marcy's Outlaw Legend Class"? Just curious. I'm gonna go 4-cell stock (6-cell's is just too much weight for that little chassis!) with a good battery and motor. At most maybe a 19t, but I doubt that highly. I was just curious, I might loan a motor or two to George. Who's bringing the broom and dust pan?
Jake
Rick Rad 01-21-2003, 06:06 PM Kevin,what gearing for a 19T for MP
Rick Rad
kevinm 01-21-2003, 08:20 PM Jake: Motor limit = 1 per car :D No 6-cell Mod because the police reports take too long to fill out. (Don't forget to bring your digital camera.)
Rick: No clue, really. But at Lansing we run 2.1-2.3 rollout on a larger track, so maybe 1.8-2.0?? Ask Keith or the Rotten Hanson Kid.

Don't worry, I'm not gonna try 6-cell anything with a Legend, the chassis just can't take the weight. I think the most I will go with is a 19t, remember my Legend is "UN-modified" so it can't take much more power. LoL Now George on the other hand with that 12x2 of his......he might beat us all! :D Like I said: "Whose bringing the broom and dust pan???"
Jake
PS George, I will bring my 9x2 (and digital camera!) for you.
kingpin 01-21-2003, 09:28 PM Only one motor per car???? That really blows my plans...
rowle1jt 01-21-2003, 10:36 PM George, if you run your motor on the left side of the chassis it will gain you 20 laps more than running twin motors.
You will have to do that to keep up with my 2x1 MOD. Can we get mattress's for the end of the straights this weekend? LoL :D
Jake
Rick Rad 01-21-2003, 11:50 PM He who finishes 4 minutes or 5 might just win:eek:
Rick Rad 01-21-2003, 11:54 PM Kevin, what turn motor did you use in your Outlaw?
kingpin 01-22-2003, 09:26 AM Motor on the left??? I think that I tried that once, but it went the wrong way.
I found a 115 volt motor that will fit, but so far I can only get 88 cells in the legend before the tires go flat. I need to get a wagon to pull along behind the car with the rest of the cells. Lets see, how many more will it take. I need to divide 115 by 1.2, maybe 1.1 because most of the cells are old. That will give the voltage I need but then I must divide by the coefficient of friction on the wagon tongue. These formulas give me a headache. I am sure that Kevin explained it to me once.
Oh yeah, it is E=MCsquared divided by the number of coins in your pocket times the number of hot dogs you have had minus the coke that you spilled on Jakes pit table. But then How do I get the roll out on a 342 tooth pinion??? Now where is that bottle of aspirin?
rowle1jt 01-22-2003, 10:11 AM I used to have a little trailer that I built back in the day to pull behind my Big Brute. I think it broke and I threw it out though. If 6-cell's is to much, imagine George's car battery.
Thats it! He is gonna pull the battery from his van behind his Legend! I know I won't give him a jump start when the day is over.......

I'm not sure, but I think it was a 13 or 14 turn w/ 2000mAh batteries. It's got a 13x2 in it now, may go up or down on winds depending on how much battery is left over. Jake's probably being sensible (had to happen sooner or later) with a 19 turn.
