Hey Jake. I guess we know where you got the red stuff to paint the dodge. Nothing like putting your lifes blood into your work. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/biggrin.gif Also, that body looks low to the ground. I think I will mention to Jon and Kevin that we need a tech inspection for height. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/rolleyes.gif

Well what do we have here?Looks like the whole gang is on here.Hi George,Mel and Jake.We had snow for three days and then the rain came and all is gone.Been in the low 40's here.We actually have enough people this year to run ledgends. We do run them with six cell packs and any stock motor.I guess we like them fast(lol).Hope to see you all soon.Take care. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/cool.gif

Actually George, it is a bit low.....I need some different front body mounts. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/biggrin.gif And no, it isn't "blood" red as you call it, it is Pactra's birght red. Yes FROM A CAN!

Scott, I wish you would send some of that snow our way, I want to get my girlfriends snowmobile out, she doesn't want to ride it on the grass. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/frown.gif

So where is the race next weekend after next, not this coming (8&9th)? First weekend of freedom from school. Need to toss the on a track and see how it runs, and then try touring car. Probably get beat bad in both, but it still better than school or work!

Yes we now have our track layed down. Our first race is tomorrow nite(thurs)at 7:00 pm.We are planning some weekend races and i will post directions and schedules as we get them. The track is quite a bit smaller than last year but space is hard to find.We now have a bull ring like MT Pleasant. The track is fun and quite fast for a smaller track. The track is in Escanaba this year behind the delta do it center.

Hi All, Hope all you guys are doing well.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the soo will no longer be racing oval. we will be racing roadcourse only for the rest of the year.
no one up here seems to be interested in running oval, we haven't had a pancar class since october so we have decided to scrap oval. If you know anyone that needs an l30 that for the most part has never seen the track let me know.
Jake hows the hand?
Hope it's getting better.
see ya, joel

Hi Jake.We are hoping to get there in january.Work is very slow right now and as a mechanic when the work isn't there i dont make money.Been making just enough to pay child support and race at home during the week.I am looking at changing my career to a machinist which i did for 9 years before i became a mechanic/engine rebuilder. Also i am waiting on some tires that i am buying from Mel.He gives me great deals on tires that are used or new, whatever he has excess of.He is such a cool person, although i must say that all the people whom i've met down state seem to be the nicest bunch of racers and people.Always willing to help and never making you feel like you are a bother.R/C needs these kind of people to help the new people out so we can keep a great hobby alive. When we figure out some dates for our weekend races i will let you all know where and when.We now have a bull ring just like you guys Jake.I'll let you know when we are going to come down there. Also,Sorry to hear about the oval racing in the Soo.Hey WIGMAN,funds have been tight for Kevin and i both,we really wanted to come up there more often but it's hard to when work is slow. Will let you all know when we run a weekend race.Hope to see you all real soon.Keep in touch guys.

Gosh Jake, you will do anything to keep this thread on top, won't you!!
See you Saturday. I will be bringing a whole used car lot for sale http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/biggrin.gif An X13, L30, several legends and enough radios to open a R... Shack. I will be racing legends and the outlaw. I am still afraid to face up to those guys in pan car, and at age 61, I don't think that I am going to get any better. My motto "I used to be a hack, but now I wreck you on purpose." Thats why I say that racing legends means never having to say you're sorry. I can hear Jon now, "DRIVERS READY..."

I would like to have everybody take a moment that reads this and to remeber how lucky we are to have friends and family. Rwember that there are at last count about 3000 people that can't do that anymore.
Thank you all and I wish all you Good health and a long life

Mel, I haven't been on here since the race in MP before christmas (atleast I don't think that I posted at all.) I wanted to thank you so much for your help all your help, if only I always had a mechanic like you around to whip my cars into shape. I didn't know that a car could be that easy to drive and fun too! Also if you see Ed at JCC tell him thanks again! I trimmed the little plastic stuff off the sides of my shocks, bit the pod still does not feel like it did with your shocks. Since I won't be at JCC can I get those shock springs from you in MP? I really do appreciate that too!

I want everone to know that I am not going to JCC. You won't be graced with my presence. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/frown.gif Taking a little time and going up to the cabin to relax. Play around, maybe ride the four wheeler a bit, and watch my brother inlaw fall on his butt while attempting to ride his snow board behind the four wheeler! Have a good one and good luck, see you later in January in Mount Pleasant. If your lucky........ http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/smile.gif

Hey Jake. That seems like a great deal the guy got on ebay. And how did the other guy get beat out by one cent?? Hope you didn't try to take your 4-wheeler on the water, cuz the river ain't safe yet. I have been down state for the past week with my wife in the Hosp. for a supposedly outpatient surgery, that turned into a three day stay. She is fine now. Too bad I wasn't around while you were here. You know the full timers up here are offering a bounty on you weekenders. Monday thru Friday it is God's country, and on the weekends it is Hell's half acre. I am too old to hold the 12 gauge steady, but I might be able to get a few buck shot where they will do the most good. Also, I was working a deal with Scott before he contacted you, he just got concerned because he had not heard from me. So quit begging for a finders fee http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/tongue.gif

We had a great race in the soo this past weekend.
I would like to thank Kevin and Jake for coming from Escanaba(scott hope the timing will be better for you next time. we missed ya) and also Mike and Tom from Gaylord and Calvin from Traverse city. Hope all of you had as much fun as I did. Just wish i could have made a couple more laps with you guys in the main.Oh well, I smoked em all in touring car so I'm Happy.....lol
Hey Mel, Finnaly got to run that L3o I got from you, I qualified 4th, only 1 lap behind 2nd and 3rd qualifiers. Calvin had us all covered in qualifying but his luck ran out in the main and Jacob smoked every body.

Is anyone going to Traverse City this weekend? Thats where i'll be.
See you all later, Joel

Hey all. What's up Jake George and Wigman?Sure wish i could have been there last weekend but when i get to spend time with my boys i cant pass that up.I am so not wanting to see Jake after he won the A MAIN.I can just hear it now(lol). And to think i have to hear it all nite thursday nite.No really,I am glad to hear he done so good.He is a great little driver for his age.Thats ok though because i am now in the process of getting a woods X13 from my friend George. Then i will be able to take that inside line away from that little oval demon. No matter how hard i try to take it from him, that darned L30 gets that awful push and then there he goes.I love the way Kevins handles and i am getting tired of the L3O anyway.Thinking about putting a Nastruck Body on it and kevin is planning the same thing. We are going to Grand Rapids next weekend for the first time and we are really looking forward to it.Hey i got an idea!Lets all go,Wigman,George,Jake and all the soo racers and MT Pleasant racers. What a time that would be.Hope to see ya all soon.

Hmmm.....oval in GR or offroad in Ann Arbor? I'm open to either, right not I'm planning on going to Ann Arbor and getting some air, but if we get a few to go to GR then I could be persuaded........ What GR track? The on in the skating rink or the other one. I only know where the skating rink one is, across from Riders on 28th. ( I think!) What you say Mel and gang? I think Joel should come down too!

You know George, I'm just trying to help a guy out. And I'm trying to put my self through college (to earn enough ca$h for non-frozen pre-sliced bagels) and still feed my RC addiction. Yes it is an addiction. If you guys saw my room you would know what a I mean. (X-13 on the tv, XXX-KE and XXXT on the dresser, a 'Pede on the computer, a Legend in a ficus tree/plant [don't ask!!] and I didn't even mention the touring car or the two boats) So anyway back to the topic George, I need money anyway I can! LoL I guess if you wanted you could hire me as a salesman! http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/smile.gif LoL

Glad to here that your wife is feeling better, hope all is ok. I agree those people that come up there on the weekend are annoying. Thats why I like to go in the middle of the week if possible! Then I can actually drive my RC boats instead of waiting for the boats to quit going by! Hopefully your deal w/ Scott works out, wasn't trying to be a pest or anything, just wanted to make sure that your e-mail worked. Well tell your wife I said hi and to get better, if Scott can persuade some people to go to GR you gonna go with us? You gotta go through MP if you do, maybe we could car pool or something. Have a good one!
Later,
Jake
jakerowley@yahoo.com

PS George: I just read your post again, I saw that car on E-bay, I didn't buy it. After Mel tuned mine, I think it is the fastes X-13 in the world. With the right driver of course. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/smile.gif

I wish I could join you in GR. but I'll be in T.C. with my woman. I'm lucky to be able to race while I'm there, she did tell me if I'm good she will even let me race sedans on sunday too. doubt it will happen but ya never know i guess.
Are you planning on going to perry and pat's race in Wis. the end of Feb.? I talked the woman into "allowing" me togo but I'll have to wait and see if Casey can go too so we can share the expenses and stuff.

The Cheeseland carpet challage is I think shaping up to be a real fun time. This is the First Time the Club has done something like this. We have Transponders now and we seem to be receiving interest from all over.

At our last wednesday night club race we had 47 drivers.

If you attending make sure to get those enteries in. Prizes are awarded based on pre-enteries. I've been told there will be door prizes.

I raced Stampedes at the Ann Arbor track last weekend. That was interesting, all though VERY FUN! http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/smile.gif I think I could hang with those guys in buggy and truck (with me Losi's mind you!), just might try it later this year...... http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/biggrin.gif

So GR is this weekend? That sucks, I won't be able to go. But there is a race in MP the 26th.

The Checklist for MP the 26th:

George- Has he missed one yet?
Jake- Yup
Mel- Better be!
Scott- See above.
Joel- Come on...its small but fun!
Casey- See Scotts answer.

Hope everyone can make it. E-mail me for directions and what not. Anyone going to the Cheeseland Classic? Sounds like a good race, but a bit far for me. Sorry guys. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/frown.gif

Scott let us know how it goes in GR. Glad you like your X-13. After Mel the "Official Woods Mechanic" setup the pod on mine it handles awesome! I wouldn't give it up for a new L30 on the small tracks that I usually race on.

So George, I'm sitting here, looking out the front window of the cabin (yes, I do bring my laptop up to the cabin with me when I am here) and I see all these snowmobile tracks on the ice. Are these guys NUTS??? It doesn't seem like the ice has been frozen long enough to be safe to have a snowmobile on it. I guess it is though......you just wounldn't get me out there. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/smile.gif Well hope everyone has a good wekend.

Mel, I want the low down on that new Dodge Ram with the 500 horse/500 Foot punds of torque V-10 that Dodge is coming out with.
Except that I know you wil probably hang out in the GM area the whole time........Oh well I can't save them all....... http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/smile.gif

Hey Jake. I think that you should venture out on the ice, just to see if it is really safe. How about jumping on your snow mobile and trying it here in front of my place. I promise not to shoot the first time. Any way try jumping up and down on the ice next to my sea wall. My grandsons are coming and the sled hill shoots them out onto the river. I would hate to lose one of them under the ice, because my daughters-in-law insist on getting them back. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/biggrin.gif
I am looking forward to MP. I will have a pan car for sale, but possibly no legends. I am working on a deal for my last one now. Have sold three cars since the first of the month. Everybody thanks me for my "great deals", so I guess that I should raise prices. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/wink.gif
I have enough parts to make the dynamic strut front end for the pan car, but in three different colors. I soaked them in thinner and wire brushed them clean, but I have never dyed before. I am going to use black dye. Do you (or anyone else) think that the black will cover, blue, purple and white? See ya. George
