HaHa! Beat you to it! Trying to drum up some conversation for that thread. :)

So how was the racing last night....??? Did chuck race 4-cell? All I know is that my first time racing 4-cell I got beat bad.....

Yeah he raced 4-cell. I think he wasn't used to the martinville type bull ring so getting the hag of it was time consuming. But each race I believe he got faster. I took the night off of racing for this weekend and helped out others so I didn't get to see much racing.

Four cell gearing is a little tricky to learn. We run 112 to a 116 spur and start around 4.25 for a ratio and go uip or down accordingly

Scott, the PDF needs to be updated, the Soo IS running 4-cell, not 6-cell. I guess you will have to break your packs apart.... :)

Whoa Scott! I just wanted you to be prepared, I didn't want to drive you away! Ask Casey, he might have a 4-cell to loan you? ;)

Joel would probably run a 6-cell class since there are three of you, atleast that way you'd be racing. :)

I know Casey would let me borrow one cause thats the kind of guy he is,but i really hate to borrow things. If my packs werent so new i'd break them up but i really dont want to do that. The ones that i can break up are only 2000's and they are practice packs so my car would be like a boat anchor out there  even more that it already does.I dont think Kevin knows either but he may.He never said anything about 4 cell when he called the other nite to assk me to go so im not sure on that one.It would be so cool to see the gang again though so i might just go along for the ride and not race.

That will be a hard thing to do:( I am really debating breaking up two of my new 2400's so that would give me three packs to race with but i would have to practice with 6 cell packs.that would do nothing as far as telling me how to set up for 4 cell.Im not even sure if i have the gearing to run 4 cell(what spur and pinion)or even a starting point to go by.Running 6 cell meant 128 spurs and i think the smallest i have is 112 in 64 pitch so i am limited in gears. That is the main reason for not racing 4 cell this time,i would have to buy gears and whatever else i dont have and i really cant afford to spend alot right at the moment.I know gears arent that much but add the cost of gas to get there and back, food, entry fee,and of course plenty of MTN DEW:thumbsup: it adds up quick. As far as borrowing stuff,i tend to have bad luck with other peoples things, not bad luck racing but bad luck breakage wise:lol: .If i can get a ballpark figure on the gearing to see what i have and if i have it,i may change my mind and race 4 cell.I know it is fun and easier on the car and wallet:D so dont get me wrong,i have done 4 cell and had a blast but i am all set up for 6 cell at the present time.I really want to race(been sniffing the PARAGON already)so if you can help me out with the gearing thing i'll see what i can do and work from there.Thanx for all the info and help Sir Jake and i hope to see you troll bunch soon:lol: Take care.

Hock maybe you can jump in here??? I think 4-cell is starting somewhere around 112-116 whit like a 25 pinion? Don't hold me to that but I think its close. :)

At trackside this weekend which is pretty close to the same size as the soo. We run 112 or 116 spur. I gear anywhere from a 34 to 37 tooth pinion (depends on the motor). 2400' so you can run more than once a day. Twice is there max 2400's will work more than fine for 4-cell I would be runnng 2000's if mine were any good so now I run them for practice. After 4 min I have over 90 seconds left on them.:D and They are crap 2000's But the nice thing about 4-cell is it take the battery war out because it's not about acceleration. It's about corner speed. With 4-cell you should never have to let off on a track that big. 4-cell is fun once you get used to not ripping off every turn

IT'S THE ONLY WAY I'M GETTING IN TO HEAVEN:D. Actually Perry and I are heading to Milwaukee for the ROAR reg 5 championships this weekend.
We will be up for the DEC 7 race. Riping the packs apart will go faster than you think.

1st rule of 4-cell: Don't panic You may be real fast but over 4-min
Like I said, You will not accelerate like the 6-cell class but can get up to the same speed with gearing. 2nd, and get the car faster iwth car setup. not gearing (unless there blowing by you) more often than not it's chassis instead of motor. 6-cell allowed you to have your chassis off and be competive. once everyone gets there cars tuned it's fun to see a nice frieght train of cars running nose to tail with out the pile up in the turn and/or out of the turn

:( sorry.......no carpet racing in Escanaba this year.We have no building and no time to get it going again. Not alot of interest last year so it's not worth it to set up a program for just 4 of us.As you know the off road is kabosh also in Esky......I havent raced since june so i will be on the rusty side saturday.I may even be so rusty that Casey will actually look like he improved:lol: (just kidding Casey).See ya all later.

Scott........GEE I WONDER IF CASEY WILL HAVE ANY TIRES HE WANTS TO SELL THAT WILL FIT MY X15?HINT HINT?????????????

I'm sure Casey has some tires he will sell you, as I'm sure you're well aware that anything Casey has is always for sale.....

As for racing in Esky, I can understand not running of there is no interest. That is just too bad, what did you guys do with the carpet you had?

One of the people who raced with us works in management for the Chip in Casino and they put up the money and we paid them back in payments from entry fees and club treasury. They only charged us for half the carpet and they donated the other half.We raced the first year in the new Hannahville school gym and the turnout was good, but it was quite a drive out in the sticks. Then when that person couldnt get time to race rc anymore(he races the real offroad trucks)we moved to a small building in Esky and everything went downhill from there. So glad that there are still a few tracks left cause i have spent tooooooooooooooooooooooooo much money on all this stuff and i hate to not use it:( .

Hock I got home a little after 3:00 with a lot of deer keeping me company along the way. I had a lot of fun and am looking forward to next month. I broke the t bar in the woods last night so it looks like I will have to have my G-Force as my primary car and try to find a t-bar for a back up car with the woods. Gotta go to work I'm on 12 hour nights see ya.

Just imagine that though for second though, we are used to a 200 or less foot running line oval, that would be too cool. But only if you could see that far and still judge the corners correctly..... :)

PS so he can imporve the speed of his reading, maybe Casey should get: "hukt on foniks tu"

Hey Jake, you would have loved the dome race up in marquette, 1/8 of a mile indoor running track, talk about fast and hard to score by hand on a computer, we had to have 2 people calling numbers for the pancars, i was basically in the middle of the track trying to see the numbers and had to literally jump over cars that were out of the "groove" so they wouldn't hit me.
It was tottaly awesome, casey and I ran touring cars for the first time on that track, I geared the car he let me run to the moon in the first heat cuz I had no clue where to start, I dumped a brand new 3000 pack in 2 minutes and 19 seconds. I didn't get past for the lead till after the 3 minute mark thats how fast my car was the first heat.
Then Perry(aka.oval god) and I had a great battle in the main after I geared down to make runtime, we were side by side for like 2 1/2 minutes, rubbin through the corners and everything, then I broke a ballcup and went head on fullspeed into a volley ball net stantion, it wasn't pretty lots of parts went flyin', however I did finish the race and either finished second or third.

oh....don't get your hopes up about a bigger track, we could make it bigger but we wouldn't have any pit space left.

Call fred, the one who is doing the jcc races and tell him to build the monster oval again, i believ the running line was somwhere around 400 ft.
It was really cool, ask casey, he will remember.

later, see you all tommorrow, Joel:wave:

You were telling me about this one day, I don't know if it was MARS or what. That would have been real cool. I could deal with that, I'd try it atleast once. :D

As for the big track in the BBA, how much pit space is really needed? :)

Somewhere in his house Oval God has a "tape" of the Dome race. That was always fun. Everytime we ran there, Except the one year they ran Radio Shack Cars. Not that I don't think kids should run them. It was just watching them get 3/4 to 1 lap in 4 min. Couple of hours here at work then off to Regionals. I'm coming driving back and forth so I may be able to give a little race report.
