Hey!!!! A five minute attention span, that is much better than Jakes, of course he is not grown up yet:D

If every one could get there attention spans up to six minutes we could really have some long 4 cell races.

Of course at my age, it is not the attention span, it is the sinility kicking in after about 4 minutes, and I start to wonder where I am, and what am I doing here. You guys are going to love old age, It is a great adventure.

This is a big weekend coming up for me. Friday I go to the Social Security office to sign up for old folks pay, Saturday is the first Race of the season at Mt. Pleasant, (where I will have plenty of used cars, radios and parts for sale, along with new painted bodies), and then Monday, I am back to MP so that the Doc can burn off some more of my age spots,(actually sun damage,((pre-cancer keratoses')),). I think that I will put that last sentence up for longest sentence contest.;)

Have to stop painting today, and get my Legend and Sprinter ready to race. And Kevin thinks I never put any preparation in to my cars.:hat:

And now for my annual caveat: I apologize now to all the drivers who have the misfortune to be in my Legend heats. I began racing Legends when I was 50, some 12 years ago. I reached my driving peak 4 or 5 years later, and have been going downhill ever since. Now like the white haired masses down in Florida, I drive like it is a God given right, not a privilege that requires skill.

My bumper sticker: "I used to be a hack, now I wreck you on purpose".

My Motto: "Racing Legends means never having to say you are sorry".

AM I READY OR WHAT ???

Yeah, I'd say your ready.... :) I just wish I was gonna be there to witness it, and to race. :D

It's ratio. Tire roll out is about 1.6. It is a martiville track about 105ft drive line. Just like a big Paperclip. Ya still gotta keep the speed up in the turns. 4-cell has allowed us a few time to go 3 wide threw the turns (without) a problem. 6-cell have to lay on the brakes. they turn 60-61 laps. w-cell is 58 to 59 laps:roll:

rowle1jt
10-23-2002, 09:56 AM
Allright, I think Joel was rolled out at about 1.9. Casey on the other hand, had a 31/120.... I don't know where I was, I need to gear up so I added a bunch of teeth to the pinion (hmm this one looks good...as I paw through my pit box) and I need to paw throught it again and find a bigger pinion! 4-cell was neat, and I think it was easier to drive for me too, even though I still cracked up my car.

MOVE DOWN TO A 112 OR 116 SPUR GEAR. For some reason running a little smalleer spur gear gives you more speed. At the tri-clone we run a 88 to 96 tooth 64 pitch gear

It was fun to watch though. I am not really interested in pan but looked like everyone was having fun and thats what counts. Jake you still practicing? Carpet in MY BASEMENT is GREAT :D Just been putzing around with my touring...(yea i'm practicing) getting ready for the next race. Good luck to you next time in pan car dude. Naaaaa...This thread isn't dead. It is just that everyone is out haveing a good ole time. I will be too once I leave the library. So yeah what is the deal with the 3300s? I know Sanyo has the 3300 hvs out now as well as the GP 3300. Seems to me that the GP3300 should be an awesome cell considering how much more weight they are. .2oz heavier per cell. But then again I raced against some of the new sanyos and I got my butt kicked hard. Hope too see you guys in Mount Pleasant this weekend except for those folks going to the MARS Banquette.

10-23-2002, 10:24 PM
Hey Jamie I am not picking on you when I say this becasue you are a great driver. I really don't think it was becasue of the Sanyo 3300's
So far they suck and the cost O MY GOD. The Sanyos have about 21-25 IR's and the GP have 16-19 ir's
The Sanyos do have more voltage but not much more and diffently not enough to justify the cost differnce Which is $15 more per pack

I haven't ran mine yet I was stupid and forget my batter bars at home. So if I didn't have any my LHS didn't either LOL
You coming up for the Oval race in Dec

I am now a distributer for Terminator Pro They make a great conversion for the L30 and it also will work on a Woods car too HINT

Jamie, I ran my 3300's in stock Touring car, and there was HUGE difference between them and my SMH's! I have some pretty darn good SMH's and that 3300's whooped all over them! Noticble difference in punch and over top speed. I like them, and the prices CANNOT be beat. Whatever you do, make sure you get Pro Match ones. Yeah Casey has me THAT brainwashed..... LoL :D

Casey You getting the Term Pro to work for you? Over here It's the only car in the A-main. All other cars are 10L3's.

After Xmas I'm planning on getting new cells for carpet nationals but for Reginals I'm running my 3000. I just had them rematched 5 weeks ago and they are 1.145+ with low IR These are almost a year old so 3300 are going to really have to impress me.

rowle1jt
10-24-2002, 10:01 AM
Hock, what is a really low IR? All my 3300's are 17 or less! If your running HV's what are your IR's? I don't know that I have ever seen a pack of HV's with less than 20 or 21 IR. Just wondering if your running Sanyo HV's or what, I'm just curious. :)
Jake

10-24-2002, 10:06 AM
Yup Sanyohv I'm at about 21 for IR. good for 3000shv plus since 3300's aren't ROAR legal yet I don't want them. With my luck I would put them in my car Accidently and get busted. So I am waiting. I can get them after Xmas some time.

HEHEHE. To bad you weren't fast enough to beat the belt Jake LoL. I have to say that the 3300's that i got from Promatch (dealer was Casey) were great. They were nice and easy on speed i ddin't notice a drop in power and yes they performed great. Yes Jake you should have geared up a few teeth. Chat at you soon dude. Ohh yea Joel for the next race lets have a really REALLY hard course for us road guys.

I Don't race on-road. But I always thought there should not be a long straight on -road coarse. No straight should be 3x the width of the lane. After all you guys are all about the left right thing.

the harder the better. When I did run 1/12 road coarse that was alway s the best

Hey Casey, Are you selling the gp3300 or the sanyo hvs??? Also did I see some time ago you were going to run an ADX car? I was playing around with the idea of getting one and just wondered. I cracked my woods car up and since it is hard to get parts for was thinking about a car switch.

rowle1jt
10-25-2002, 09:36 AM
Jamie,
Yeah Casey is selling the GP 3300's, he even a slew of them in stock! Word on the street is that the Sanyo 3300's pretty much suck......and that they are WAY more expensive! Pro-Match is out of stock on them for now, (the GP's) but I know Casey has some in stock that are killer cells, look at the prices on Pro Match's Website (http://www.promatchracing.com/gp3300.htm). The voltage is prety good but the internals are KILLER. I have run mine a few times now and my T30 still shows VERY close to what the sticker says. If you have a little bit of money to play with (I know your in college just like me) I would highly suggest you grab a pack and just try them, I know you won't be dissapointed.

As for ADX, no he is not running one and is not a dealer for them, on the other hand Joel ("wigman" on the boards here) is running one. He can probably answer most of your questions on them. If you want one, all I have to say is good luck finding one... :D

Casey is a dealer now for Leading Edge, selling the Terminator Pro which is an L3O conversion. All you would need from an L3O are the side plates on the pod and a t-bar. You should already have a front end on your X-15. I did the same thing with my Woods. Broke the t-bar (what else breaks on a Woods???) up in the Soo this last weekend. I put my last one on the car last night... :( I am considering switching to a Terminator Pro (http://hometown.aol.com/wrewin/page1.html), just becasue I will make Casey give me a good deal on it. If I wasn't looking at the Terminator I would probably go for an ADX (http://www.rc-oval.com/issues/Sep-02/ProduceRevies_ADX_sep02.htm), or a Racetech Mac Attack Carpet Pro (http://www.bolink.com/racetech/kits.html). I haven't heard a whole lot about the Racetech, I think Zubak drives one? But that is not the reason I would buy one, I think it is a good design and it is avaible through Bolink, which Racetech is a division of Bolink, so parts would be easy to get at a reasonable price.

Well there you have it, I was bored so I decided I would answer for Casey. Besides he probably won't be checking the boards until later tonight... :) Talk to you later. You have any idea what an X-15 is worth? I would give Mel the chance to buy mine first if he wanted it, but I have no idea what they are worth???

Jake

I'm going racing to night at Trackside in Milwaukee. I see a lot of Racetech cars, Hyperdrive and adx cars, That is were I also saw the Terminator pro and I wanted one. All work very very well. Here is the lower price conversion from leading edge. Looks sweet and at a lower price =than the pro http://hometown.aol.com/leadingedgerc/VIPER.html

The woods cars always had a t-plate week spot.

rowle1jt
10-25-2002, 09:44 AM
Hock, I saw the pic of the Viper. I think I would rather have a Terminator Pro. I don't know why, the Viper is good looking, I just want a Terminator a whole lot more! :D

Hey All Hope to see some of you at Mt. Pleasant Sat. and some of you at Jackson on Sun. and the rest at the Soo in Dec.
I will be giving my GP3300's a work out this weekend. Will let you all know if they are that much better or not. I got mine thru Casey also. Jake is right that Casey is a dealer for the Terminator Pro. I think it will work. I had the old style ADX and liked it, but I think my Woods car was still just a little better. Later

Hey Mel, Glad to here you guys are coming up in Dec.
Looks like 4-cell will be the class to run, we are going to try to make the switch once more.

Have you been to Traverse city and raced lately. Just wondering if they are still doing the 4-cell thing or if they are back to 6.

I ran the new Adx car for the first time last weekend, I like it alot, It drove alot like my woods car used to drive, I had alot more speed through the corners than I did with the associated I was running last year, Of course it is kinda hard to tell what the car was doing compared to last year since I was only running 4-cell.Casey was alot faster than I was but my key to winning was no crashes, he had an unfortunate meeting with Jake on the front straight that cost him almost a full lap, he tried to run me down and got to within about a half lap but time ran out for him,
The racing between he and I was close,m we ran side by side for almost 2 complete laps, He really wanted to pass me on the inside but I knew if he did he was going to be gone so I held the inside as best as I could and it worked out, there is no way I could have held the inside like I did with the l3o like I did with the new ADX, It practically drives itself.

Good luck to all in Mt. Pleasant and Jackson tommorrow, If I didn't have to work I would have made the Mars Banquet then probably headed to Jackson.

Later, Joel

Chuck, I will get it to you monday, it is on my work computer. :)

All yall's (ohhh a southern word!) that went to the MARS banquet, Chris and I made it from, Jerry's to Mount Pleasant in hour and a half, and that was with a 10 minute gas stop..... With that time that makes the GR track quicker to get to for me than Jackson, a little longer than the Lansing track..... :D I almost feel like Casey from that drive.....except I didn't really speed, too much.

Hey Joel remember I wasn't running my Term Pro yet
I was still going with the L30

Also Mel and Jamie to do the switch jake is right you just need the t-bar and the side plates and nothing else
If and when you get the kit from me I will toss ine the t-bar and to the first person to get one off me for there woods I will also toss in the side plates I mean anybody so Jake you might want to hurry

If you guys need anymore GP3300's you might want to get them before the price goes up He already annouced it on his site that they will be going up for the next batch becasue of shipping cost
The price will go back down when they become available and he doesn't have to air frieght them

These packs are great from what I heard I haven't had the chance to run them yet but can't wait
If i did I might have bet Joel in pan but I will have to wait 2 more weeeks to find out UGGG I can't wait that long I need to race

If you guys have any more ? just ask me I will try and be on more often But I will be gone till Weds nightgoing down state to see the in-laws
So if anybody knows of racing in the Flint Lapper area for Monday Tues and heck even Weds LMK

Had a great time in Mt. Pleasant. 17 heats. The big boys ran 4 cell and we found it great to watch. Lots of fun in all the heats with the usual suspects taking home the loot.
I did poorly in both Legends and Sprinters. Made the A in Legends, but B in Sprint. Carried a whole car lot full of bodies in and sold many. Also sold two cars and enough electrics to make supper a nice meal.
Missed Jake, but not much.
Can anyone suggest the proper tire combo and springs for Tc3 on a bull ring carpet. Might want to embarass myself in another class next month, (why not, I do it so well:p ).

George, get your self a pair of Jaco foams, a set of purple and a set of plaid, I'll set your ride heigth when I get there, and I can change the springs when I get there too. I don't want to give a way my ULTRA secret (and FAST!) setup on the boards... LoL ANd I don't remember what springs are on the back..... :D

Casey, you know how it goes, $$$. Besides what will I do with my Woods??? Have you heard ANYTHING from Dave @ Leading Edge?
