So What happened at the Soo this weekend?
1Metric Ton 10-14-2002, 02:01 PM In the Soo. Well here in the Soo i woke up this morning and yea we got that white stuff. Snow. Ugh! it's time for that "stuff" to be roling on in here. It's now almost 2pm and it is almost gone. Nothing great is happening here in the Soo as of yet. Race next weekend and i'm getting pumped.:p Hoping that my stuff comes in. I want to be able to get them intime? Should have it though. Only bad part about the snow is that yea it's time to put the motor bike away. It's cold and i have just finished winterizing it. I can't wait until next spring. Hope that everyone that is going to make it to the Race here in the Sault is going to make it. I'm getting pumped hehehe. Nothing specail happened here this weekend other then the white stuff landed...
Chat laters.

Perry and I (maybe more) are coming to the Soo Dec 7. We are bringing up Team 1 products for you guys to buy if you'd like. If you have anything specific order please e-mail me. You can check Team 1 stuff at www.team1rc.com
James Hanson 10-14-2002, 08:49 PM Hock, who are you?
So you are going to be bringing Team1 stuff to the Soo. Thats good to hear. How is Kenny B. doing? I have not talked to him in YEARS. I use to run for Team1 back in the day when we went to Leisure Hours in Joliet IL for the presidential oval. I ran 6 cell 12th scale stock oval. It was a blast. Anyhow, I was just wondering what Kenny B has been up to and maybe I will get to race with him again this winter.
1Metric Ton 10-15-2002, 12:13 AM Hey cool looking motors. I see they still have MVP's was wondering if you where going to have any of those at the race? Or possibly if i can get one mail ordered to me? How do i go abouts to do that? laters.

He will be at Regionals at trackside in Milwaukee Nov 8,9 (Friday is a Practice day,Club racing friday night, saturday is quailifers and mains. Fee is $25.00 and Bring up to 3 motors which will be marked.
I've been racing with thses guys for about 8 yrs and they are the best group of guiys to learn from. They've tough me a lot You can get ahold of Kenny B at kenny@team1rc.com.
Metric ton you can e-mail me a list of things you want and I can get back to you on price/availaiblity and bring it up day of the race. Or you can order thought the online store. http://www.team1rc.com/shop/

MR. Wiggins
The Dec 7th Oval race. I have verbal Commitment from 3 to 4 guys (not including perry and I) around here to come up and run 4-cell. This is not a 100% positive yet but we will keep you informed. Perry and I are pimping the race as hard as we can. We are hoping to get a few 6-cell guys and 4wd puzzle cars to come and play also. We are comming up on friday to relax and then play on saturday
1Metric Ton-
I checked on the MVP Motors last night. Currently we are out. We might
be ordering more, but with a new stock motor coming out from Reedy any day now they are currently nervous about ordering any. The boss said he would try to find out more on the situation.
1Metric Ton 10-17-2002, 01:24 PM Hey Hock thanks for the info. I am hoping that you get them in but if i am the only person asking then i can see why? Don't go to any trouble I was thinking about getting 2 only. That should last me through the indoor season. Thats probably not enough if i am the only one still asking about them. I just like that motor and want to keep running it. Ohh well..Promatchracer has some good motors and i can always get something else from him. Still if you get them in let me know ok. :D Chat laters. Ohh yea what is gearbox class?
Not a problem. Ya gotta git what you want where you can find it:D
I've already picked up a bin of stuff to bring up
Brushes
battery tape
Tribo drops
Let me know if there is anything oyu guys want I can TRY to get it:wave:
WIGMAN 10-17-2002, 08:32 PM Cool Hock, glad to here we will have a good crowd.
Looks like we will be buying trophies for both 6-cell and 4-cell.
We will see how everything pans out these first couple of weeks up here, we do not have the racers to support both 4 and 6, that will be one of the topics of discussion at our first race.
See you guys in december, Joel
Joel - Cool I understand.
You guys going to bre able to make Regionals or nationals in Milwaukee?
rowle1jt 10-18-2002, 10:18 AM Well guys, leaving in about 20 mins for the Soo, see you all soon. :D
1Metric Ton 10-19-2002, 07:37 AM WOOHOOOO!!! RACE DAY. LET'S GET IT ON. :hat:
WIGMAN 10-19-2002, 07:59 AM Hey hock, regionals is a big no, we have a race that day and even if we didn't it's way too close to my honey moon and I'm broke now.........lol
when are the nats over there?
Later, Joel
Hockrc10l3 10-20-2002, 01:17 PM I don't think the actual date is set but it sounds like april 2003
Yup honeymoons are a big racing drain. :)
1Metric Ton 10-20-2002, 05:22 PM I just want to say that Jake ran a good race up here in the Sault. He is a great driver and a cool friend, to bad that he was running the wrong touring car....Jake got his shaft whooped on by a belt...:p hehehe. It's all cool Jake. =) Just giving you some smack. Chat at you laters and take care.

Don't worry your pretty little head off about it, cause your time is coming. You will all get "THE SHAFT" from my TC3. I will win, don't you worry. I got the car setup in the bag, it's the idiot thats driving it, thats the problem. Don't think for a second that I "let" you win, you worked for that one and plain out drove me! We both had good cars, no doubt about that!
But don't you worry, sooner or later you WILL get "THE SHAFT"!!!
It was a good race, it was fun, and thats what counts in the end. Hopefully that was the first of many good races between you and I in TC. :)
Jake
rowle1jt 10-20-2002, 09:14 PM Oh yeah, I forget to mention this in my post?
Joel, you'll never guess what I broke on my X-15 this weekend? Yup, a t-bar! Got a new one in the bag, hope it holds me over for a while, one of them Terminator Pro's would break my bank account. :D Maybe I'll just get out of pan car.... :p
Jake
1Metric Ton 10-20-2002, 10:35 PM Hey Jake yea i did have to earn that one thats for sure. You are a great driver and we did have a great race but like you said it's the driver...maybe casey should be driving that car for you? hehe:lol: Don't you think this "pretty head" is going to be worring, I plan to keep on practicing. I'm not going to let that get to my head. After all this is a new season and this is a self confidence building year. As for you and Pan....stop while your still ahead...ohh yea you never where LOL J/K hoping to see you soon and take care buddy. Nice to know that you got home safely. See you at the banquete dude.
Russell.
PS. IT MUST BE THOSE RIMS.
Wife is raggin on me already about my race Schedule coming up.   She says I'm going to to many races this fall. Tuff crap I guess! It's on the schedule and I'm not changing.
rowle1jt 10-21-2002, 09:54 AM Originally posted by 1Metric Ton PS. IT MUST BE THOSE RIMS. Well Russell, thats the only thing I can think of, that or you some how got all of my good driving skills for the main.... :D
Well let me tell you something Russell, that is the first time I have EVER broke anything on my pan car. And this is my 3rd (?) year racing pan car. So I can't complain, I have a new one, we will see how it goes....
Jake
rowle1jt 10-21-2002, 11:58 AM Shot of the track, pics turned out BAD because of the horrid lighting in Big Bear.
Oh well, that road course was killer, I loved it! I think Russell would agree with me on this one.... :D
Jake
naw that looks pretty good actually
rowle1jt 10-21-2002, 06:41 PM The results of the Soo's race on the 19th are up: EUPRC Website (http://euprc.topcities.com/) If you look at the 4-cell pan car results you will be surprised. Casey and Joel finished on the SAME LAP after 5 minutes. I must say that it was fun to watch after I pulled off. I broke the t-bar and my car would hook, so instead of taking one of them out every few laps (sorry Casey!) I just pulled over to let them duke it out. I kinda like 4-cell (Kevin I'm sure you didn't want to hear that!) it did seem like the racing was closer. Now if I add about 5 more teeth to my pinion (again!) than I will be in the ball park for gearing.... :D
E-Maxx was fun, even though I didn't have enough time to re-charge my packs and dumped 1/2 throught the main HANDING the win to Rob. Oh well, there is always next time.
Joel, since we didn't run 12th scale and we all paid for it, does that mean we get to run it for free the next time, or did we donate $2.00 dollars to the club? :D LoL I'm not real worried about it.
Jake
rowle1jt 10-21-2002, 07:07 PM George, I see you lurking on here..... LoL Are you afraid of us now? You don't ever post any more.... :(
Jake
kingpin 10-21-2002, 07:38 PM I am just checking to see if any of the people who have asked for offers have actually replied to any of the number that I have made. This is why I like ebay. When you put something up for sale, it sells, and if you offer to buy, you buy.
Anyway, I am still busy painting. Working on two more 12th scales, one nascar and one sportscar. Have been using the acrylics. When these are gone, I am done with them forever. They take too long to dry between coats, and they require more coats than even the Lacquer flourescents. Also I am painting one of the Bolink Bokarts in the Spiderman theme. I think that you will like it. Will send you pics when done.
Kingpin
Racing Legends means never having to say you are sorry.
rowle1jt 10-21-2002, 08:08 PM Well its good to know that your still kicking around, no wonder you never post, your always painting! LoL Good to see your keeping busy, make sure and cause some trouble for me this weekend in MP as you know I won't be there. Everyone knows that you don't cause trouble on your own....
Jake
Hockrc10l3 10-21-2002, 11:21 PM Did I read that right you are ran 4-cell in 5 minute races? NOt a problem. just want to have it straight before I come up so we don't stop short
1Metric Ton 10-21-2002, 11:47 PM Hey Jake have to agree with you that PHAT track that Joel cooked up for us was truely that PHAT. Great track Joel thanks. We had alot of fun and it was competitive. Sorry to hear that you broke something on your pan dude. Goodness knows if i was racing 1 i would have broken alot more then that LoL. Pics of the track still look good. You can see everything. Layout looks sweet. I want to race now. Have to wait though... See you in a few days Jake.
Don't worry i'll be giving a hard time at the mars banquete. You still going? LMK. Chat laters.
PS. Looks like casey has been practicing or something with his pancar. He looked good. WTG! Casey. Thanks again to Joel for that PHAT SWEET TRACK.
rowle1jt 10-22-2002, 08:55 AM Originally posted by Hockrc10l3 Did I read that right you are ran 4-cell in 5 minute races? NOt a problem. just want to have it straight before I come up so we don't stop short  With that kinda of run time why not? Does anyone really complain about getting another minute of track time. If it were up to me, most stock classes would 6 or 8 minutes with these batteries we all have now.... :D E-Maxx and novice were the only 4 minute classes.
Do you guys run 4 minute 4-cell? If your geared so high to dump after 4 mins, doesn't your motor get really hot? I realize it is four cell, shouldn't get to hot, but come on man, add another minute! LoL :)
Jake
rowle1jt 10-22-2002, 09:03 AM Yeah Russell I agree that was an awesome track, now if we could just convince Joel to buy another TC again, and make the track sicker! Joel did anyone complain about the track being to hard? Just wondered if anyone did.
I broke the t-bar, Woods cars are known for having weak t-bars, and nearly impossible to find replacements. Seemed like my X-13 was lot more durable in the pod than this car. The broken t-bar explains a lot to me, maybe that is why my car was handling AWESOME all day, and after a crash with Casey it just started hooking in the corners.... Oh well, you can't win them all.
Yeah I want to race to, I love racing roadcourse with a TC, racing it on the Oval at Jon's is fun, but sometimes it is a little bit "un-challenging".... :D
I'll see you ladies at the banquet, 5 days and counting.
Jake
Hold on hold on!!!!!!. All I wanted was to make sure I got the time right....:) If you guys run 5 min then we run 5 min. you run 8 min we run 8 min. I hope you don't think we are complaining. We are just making sure we are on the same page.
Yes we run four minutes. We don't get to dump. A 4 cell pack can run over 8 minutes in 1/12 scale. We gear to get the most laps we can in 4 minutes that we can (or 5 min up by you guys) Motors don't get hot unless you are over geared. We are running ratios of around 4.15 on our track. We have about 174 seconds left on 3000 packs.
We are ok with 5 minutes. When I said we didn't want to stop short, I meant that time clock in your head starts to think "holey wa, Time should be up" Or us gearing for 4 minute in practice to then find out it was 5 minutes.
We are looking forward to coming up
rowle1jt 10-22-2002, 09:12 AM No, I knew you weren't complaining. :D I just thought that a lot of clubs had gone to 5 minute races? LoL, no I didn't mean to start anything, I just like 5 minute races, and didn't want you to get confused. Its all good. :p
Jake
I know just rubbing ya:wave:
We race on Wednesday night and to get the youg guys home on a school night we race 4 minutes. On friday nights at Trackside we race 4 minute races. 3 quailifiers and a main. We start at 7pm and we get done around 11pm. I think places where they have a lot of touring cars they have gone to 5 minutes. In Oshkosh They race touring car on Friday and I think because of the amount of racers they have gone to 4 min races. I'll heard horror story's of them starting at 7pm and still racing after 1 am. I know they do a really good job of not screwing around. if your not ready , that's to bad.
But no 5 min is just fine.
rowle1jt 10-22-2002, 09:23 AM Starting at 7pm and getting out after 1? Man that is almost on MARS time..... LoL
Jake
I guess they get a ton of people. This is the first night
