4 cell is what is saving oval.More and more people that have quit racing oval are getting back into it.Jake as for your point about motors and batteries it will always be that way in equally prepared cars cars the better motor and batteries will always win it doesn't matter if your running 4,6,7 or 20 cells or if its touring cars 1/12th scales or E-Maxxes thats just the way it is.4 cell will bring the group closer together also many times with 8-10 cars on the same lap in qualifing. In my opinion oval racing is the most difficult form of racing to excel at.It takes more set-up knowledge and time to do maintaince on the car because everything has to be perfect to win especially at a big event.Any how I've marked my calender for the Soo Oval Trophy race hope to be able to run 4 cell oval there if you decide to make that an available class.Remember chassis is the way to go fast in oval the killer pack and motors just help a little. Also I have an X-15 if you need and set-up help.

Hey Hock you will have 1 more for sure in 4 cell Pan I am going to run my new car in it. If you don't mind I do need to pick your brain on what stuff to get for it. IE front end pieces I know you run the IR castor thingies I will need to get a set of those so If you have an extra or Perry does LMK

Thanks and shot me an e-mail about the stuff I need

Sometimes I piss people off with my opinion, but thats life. :)

Bob, between you and MEL helping me with my car (yeah, I just roped you in too Mel!) hopefuly I will be doing ok. :) I just put a new front end, rear pod and *new* Delta shocks on the X-15 chassis I got from Mel last winter. So Hopefully I can make that do something instead of always trying to get my old shocks to work.

Thanks everyone, hope I didn't tick anyone off too bad with that post, it was NOT intended for anyone particular. And yeah, I will run 4-cell if that is what majority wants.

Copy post from other site from Trackside in Milwaukee.

Hi Everyone, I am back from my trips and ready for some awsome racing this fall. The track has turned out great and the new transponder system is working out fine. We have made a change in the schedual for the Region 5 oval race. We are going to run it as a 2 day race. Friday practice from 10am - 6pm, then a club race at 7pm. Then Saturday we will have practice in the AM and then run 4 rounds of qualifing and mains. I think this will best rather than running it over the entire weekend. Mainly to keep the cost down for the racers attending. The club race on Friday night will only be $10 for entry. Entry for the Region race will be $25, and 15 for the second class. It will be a bring your own motor race. We will inspect and engrave up to 3 motors you present to tech for use in the event. We will be running 4 cell stock, 4 cell mod. 4 cell "ARCOR" 19 turn and Trackside cup cars. I am extremly excited for our oval program this season. Oval is back and strong. As most of you know, We also applied for the nationals this year. I am hoping we get it and that will make this years racing the best ever. Keep your fingers crossed. The flyers for the Regionals is complete and will be at the track and on our website this week. If anyone has any questions, just let me know. Take care.
Scotty

Hey, Rotten Hanson Kid - I plan on going to Grand Rapids this weekend. I'm not sure if Nick (a.k.a. "NTwigs") has a new building lined up yet for Lansing, but if you're in Big Rapids then G.R. is closer to you anyway. Oval racing is saturday noonish, Road Course is sunday. I don't know what Mel, Greg & Keith plan to do.

Guess I skipped a few posts. After reading some of those sounds like there will be enough of us to run the 4-cell class in december. I can't make the warm up race By will be there for the oval trophy race

4-cell sounds like

1. hock
2. perry
3. casey
4. Bob
5. Maybe a few more coming form GB
(still pusing the issue with a few peoplewho should go)

Casey, I have never met these guys, I didn't mess them up on purpose..... :D

4 cell or 6 cell, I will race what people tell to me, I have enough classes to race in the Soo anyway. This just means less decision making. Well the ballot is out, what do people want me to run? LoL

run what you want to run, or are prepaired to run.:)

Wigman said if we had enough we could run that's all. If you don't want to run 4-cell I understand. I plan on being prepaired to run 6-cell if I have to. :D Gotta CYA once and a while

How many classes you run jake. I find it to hard to run more than two

When I want to be seriously competitive? Only 2, when I am in the soo and wanna run the 12th scale the touring car the pan car and the E-Maxx? 4. :D It's casey's fault, he makes me do it! ;)

Well Jake I guess since casey makes you do it then i'll have to have casey make you give me your touring car....not that it's a good one, but atleast it will eliminate the junk from the best.. J/K I am also going to be trying to run 2 classes this winter. Not sure if i will be able to keep up with it all though. So many people up here run 4 classes or more it will be hard to find TURN MARSHALS. Also when peoples races are done at the end of the day they leave. I'm not pointing fingers but it would be nice if some people stayed and helped. I marshalled so much the year before and last year when i didn't have to but they needed the help so ihelped. Just try to remember that marsheling goes along with racing. Iknow your good about that Jake. I don't know who is all going to be running what this year but i am going to be putting more time towards my car and truck this yr. I want to make a good showing. Last yr was a joke for me thanks to work. This yr however....look out Jake. =) CHat laters y'all.

GR is basicly too far for me to drive on any kind of a regular basis, so I won't be comming there this weekend. Looks like Nick has not yet gotten the green light on the next site for racing in Lansing, so that isn't a option at this point...

I think I'm going to stay home this weekend and work on my new RC10L3O... anyone got any consturction tips for me ??? I have not yet pruchased a Factory Team chassis for it, so I'll be stuck with the standard oval chassis for now...

Alot of us guys here on the Western side of the lake are going to the Terminator Pro Kits (upgrade for the 10l3) It's a lot like the ADX was but I like this kit better. First night out in four cell it smashed out local track record by 3 laps. Solid and sturdy.

You can find them here: http://www.hometown.aol.com/wrewin/page1.html

These upgrades work well. They also have battery tracks for 6-cell and stick packs. as far as a setup WE run this setup

Try this setup on you car You Can do this same setup on the 10L3

LF green
RF blue (try double blue if to aggressive into turn) no stagger
LR white
RR green +.020 stagger

Springs
LF red prog.
RF green prog.
LR silver 35 WT
RR blue 35 WT
Center HPI orange ( if you don't have an orange HPI try an Associated green
TC3 spring, it is pretty close or a red truck spring cut down) 40 WT # 1
piston, shock mount was the stock associated plastic one raised .125 in the
front holes

Wheelbase 10"

Chassis rake .040

Castor
LF 2 degrees.....pin in top hole
RF 4 degrees..... pin in stock hole
Camber
LF + 1
RF -2
Battery position
All the way left and all the way back
Body
Protoform Intrepid

I ran the car centered and square on the left. On the right I used the
short hub shimmed out .060. I also used the .063 stock Associated t-bar with
only 2 screws with 1/2 degree rear steer.

Hock, sounds like a good start to winter. ROAR just doesn't seem like a big deal over here in MI. In all honesty I would probably only join it if there was a big race in the AREA. You do realize that the area I am talking about it Jackson/Lansing/Grand Rapids all the way to the Soo? LoL It just seems like there aren't any events here in MI, or I just plain don't know about them. :(

I hope you liked the flyer, and I hope it is useful for you, was glad to do it. The advantages of PDF are that they look the same to everyone, MAC, Windows, Linux/Unix. They are pretty cool, and no matter WHAT printer they are printed on they will always look the same. Plus your club looks much cooler if your flyer is in PDF format.... :D LoL

Some states roar does well. some it doesn't. Your not far from Milwaukee, I know your not planning on it but you can get a single event membership for regionals for $15 instead of a full membership for $30.00 That is what I think Chuck did when he came down to west bend from the Great White North. Actually I am going to the Soo this weekend but to the other side of the bridge to go on some train ride. Wifes Idea. figure maybe she won't give me so much grief then for racing. Flyer looked great! All I have is the reader for PDF format. (for now Xmas is comming)

I have a hell of time getting our web guy to get things on sometimes but in his defense he does have a real job too.

Yeah I agree on the ROAR thing, it seems like Wisconsin gets all the cool events and michigan is just the red-headed step child of region 5. Maybe its because of the Yoopers, and there 7 year residency program. :)

Hey Jake you know if there are any close races in say Ohio.. that isn't to bad to go to. Just ask Casey and Joel. The only thing i hated about going to a Roar race was track time.....like there was none. I spent an hour and a half at mod nats when me and casey and Joel travleed down in Ohio. Yea that was my first time racing mod truck for me...any guesses on how i did? But anyways for that 1.5 hrs i watched all the team drivers tand up there and yell to there peeps to change there tires and what not and batteries and what not. It was not something that i wanted to relive. Not sure if state races are the same or not? Only fun i had was when they put Brian Kinwald in the same qualifying heat as me once. I got toasted to say the least but still it was cool to be up on the stand with those drivers. Ohh and Hock i think my grandparents went on the ride also they liked it too. Just funny to think that it seems only OLD people go on that ride hehehe J/K Have fun on the train ride. I am going to look over those dates and see if i can possibly make any. Thanks Hock and jake if you want to try and go to any i will try and go to. Hey it's racing right and that means practice and getting better. Laters Y'all

Last night i tried to talk my way out of the Train ride and into racing while she and the kids went on the ride. Went over the cliff like a balloon made out of lead. Went to (2) oval nats and it was a blast both times. Even one did there own work (except for the ocassional shock tweak). Plenty of track practice time and the team guys which were there were more than helpful. Even had a few Adlut beverages with a couple of them when perry and I ran into them at the Local tavern.:D Roar regional have also been a very enjoyable time for me. I've never been to a ROAR off-Road event so I have no idea what that is like. But I always have fun at the Region 5 events.
