I think the trophy races will go over pretty well, if you guys can get Scotty and the Trackside crew to come. I will get who I can from the MP area. Now that you have a website, marketing will be a little easier. :D

6-cell pan car 3 heats
stock truck 2 heats
stock buggy (depends on interest) 1 to 2 heats
mod truck 1 heat
Legend 2-4 heats
Sprint car 1 heat
Touring Car 1 heat

Generally there are 4 to 6 in any given heat. MP is a pretty tight track, but he wants to run it in the GYM on a bigger track this year more, so we will see. Let me know if you have any other Questions.

Last night here at WWW.prostarracing.com.

We had:

6 cell stock: 2 Heats (6 cars total)
4 cell stock: 3 Heats (15 cars total)
Stampedes: 2 Heats (6 trucks)
Stock Sedan: 2 Heats (9 TC total)

Once we get a hold of the people who didn't know we started yet the
crowd will get bigger. I'm expecting another 5 in 4-cell stock next week. Had lots of fun last night and we were done by 10:15 our time last night:wave:

Hey Y'all hoping this season's indoor is a fun 1 looking forward to racing with everyone that was here in the UP last year  Was wondering if there was a final decision on the tires for foam for truck and touring car or not? If we can definately use them then some advice on what compounds i should get would be great help. :D I am new to racing with foams so i want to get the "proper" tires for my SUPER FAST TEAM LOSI's  I'm looking for a few people to beat this year or at least come closer to then what i did last yr. Those of you that know how much i raced last season know what i am talking about. Jake....you need a tougher job hehehe. Your on here WAY to much. Thanks for the info though and see you's all at the races.

LoL :D I will jump up and down on the table if it gets people to run foams on their TC. Do they realize how much more fun it is, not to mention the traction gain and less carpet wear? In case your wondering I will be making a very big push for foams in Touring Car.

I thought I would post this here. This is a reply I posted to a fellow racer in another thread.

Sorry but I am part of a conspiracy to push Four cell again in Michigan. If we could get enough I would be interested in some nineteen turn with the Arcor motors. That is the same speed as six cell stock. That should satisfy the six cell stock guys. Instead of buying that new Trinity Stock motor that is out you can buy a handwound nineteen turn with adjustable timing.
Bottom line is Four cell stock is cheaper and hopefully that would help add racers in the long run.
So Joel be ready to add Four cell stock to the list of classes for the Trophy race. This is being posted with the backing of the "Three Wise Men ". Any thoughts or opinions? Later Mel

 SWEET. Thanks Joel for the info. Jake we borrow those tables and they are in rough shape as it is, so NO standing on tables for you hehe:p I'm not sure what a 4cell class is? Is is for stock truck or 12th? I'm not a big fan of adjustable motors and timing i'm new to mod stuff so i think that us nonmod racers will be at a disadvantage if it is switched to that. Umm that is just my opinion, if is an altogether another class then cool. Just remember guys, we are on a time limit i think and we need to make sure that we all are going to be marshaling when needed to be. I know everyone is good about it. Just reminding you guys who will be racing 4 clases hehehe. *cough casey* :D Of course if i'm not busy i will once again volintere my time to marshal.

Looking to have a great winter see Y'all there.

Russ, don't worry, mel is talking about pancar.
mel I would welcome the cheaper costs of 4-cell, but the last time I tried it it almost killed pancar all together up here.

I would love to see it go through though.
Later, Joel

Greg Anthony

cheaper cost of 4-cell is inhearent, but the cell's that I buy for my 1/12th car are $2 to $4 more expensive per cell, because with only 4 cells and motors that were designed to run on 6 cells, the batteries are more critical, as well as the motor setup.

hock

Wigman.
First hope you know I was only kidding about the wedding thing :D

Now
I understand what you are going through trying to get 4-cell started. I believe most of your racees run Off-Road in the summer time and may even run pre-assembled battery packs. Nothing wrong with running those. I just understand it's now a major pain to convert these over to 4-cell.

In Green Bay we did not eliminate 6-cell, we added 4-cell last year and let the racers decide. 4-cell stock is outdrawing the 6-cell class almost 5 to 1 and is still growing. But I'm glad you guys tried it.

For the people who haven't raced 4-cell. The cost benefit compared to the speed aspect is almost even. On a short track like ours. (lap times 4 sec or less) there is only a 3 laps difference. The races are more competative. Instead of 3 to 4 sets of tires a season I'm only burning up one. With experimentation and setup the cars are actually working better threw the turns, which is making the cars faster.
To win our 6-cell stock class you need a 60 lap run and with 4-cells
we are pushing the 58 lap mark. So as far as being slower than 6-cell I think the only thing your missing is the acceleration.

In the end I wouldn't be against it as much as I was last winter. Last winter 4-cell was the devil to me, I was off the pace oven more than 6-cell, if you can imagine that!

Over the summer, I played with a lot of Stock motors, just getting the feel for how to make them work better, and to get more power out of them. No I don't have dyno (yet, right casey...hint hint!) I would just drive the motor and see how it felt. So if all this pays off I will be bouncing off of people and walls faster than I did last year....

So now that I might have a competitive motor in stock, I would give 4-cell a chance again. I will even have a decent pack for it from my 12th scale. If it sticks and I race 4-cell often, I will have to buy another battery pack. That will make Casey cry.... LoL

Russell, this is kinda like dividing up the pan cars into two classes. (In more ways than one...) Even though 4-cell is a whole different BEAST compared to 6-cell, I personally wouldn't call it a *new* class. :D

I definatelly can see what you mean, with the 2 less cells, the quality of the cells are more critical.

hock
10-01-2002, 10:12 AM
No I don't believe the cells are as much of a issue. 4-cells can go for 8 minutes better than 6-cell can therfore unless you have really really crappy cells they will work just fine. 2000's, 2400's, 3000's seem to all be competitve with each other. Becasue of the voltage discharge vs time is so much longer with 4-cells than 6-cells at 4 minute you are still very high in the voltage curve. I know guys who are winning races with cels you never would even condider for 6-cell stock.
