Tornado_Racing 08-21-2008, 06:59 PM Hey Guys,
Finally got my computer back up and running. I will spend the next day or so responding to e-mails and then trash talkin' on some of these threads!
Just a little update on the PRS side. We are thinking of a few new gears for the possible jump to 1-cell Lipo racing. Adding a 72 tooth spur and 66-70 on pinions.
Any of you guys that test the 1-cell Lipo, let me know if more gear is needed.
Z-Main Loser 08-23-2008, 11:09 AM Tony, do you have any suggestions on how to tighten the motor with these big pinions. I finding it difficult to do this with a 60.
Tornado_Racing 08-23-2008, 11:51 AM Tony, do you have any suggestions on how to tighten the motor with these big pinions. I finding it difficult to do this with a 60.
I have 2 allen wrenches. One is a straight tip and the other is a ball driver. I use the ball driver to get it adjusted, then remove the pinion and use the straight tip to lock it down.
disruptor10 09-09-2008, 01:42 PM Tony we race EDM's in upstate ny and the smaller spurs will be a welcome sight , pinions would be another welcome sight
signman501 09-09-2008, 01:46 PM Yes it would be nice to get smaller spurs and larger pinions for gearbox cars.
"Frank Ulbrik" 09-09-2008, 02:37 PM What up T!!!! Whats new? shoot me an email or gimme a call one nite this week!
swtour 10-09-2008, 12:47 PM PRS 76 tooth (or smaller) Spur Gears
WHO's got them? and/or WHEN will they be filled?
I've got guys running a VELO race the 18th looking for spurs.
KC Racing 10-09-2008, 12:52 PM Joe I have them in stock. call Dawn
swtour 10-09-2008, 01:36 PM Thanks Kenny,
She said there was (2), I've got them coming.
KC Racing 10-09-2008, 03:24 PM Joe if you need more let me know we also have the big pinions in stock.
katf1sh 10-24-2008, 01:07 AM It sounds like the current economy has slowed Kimbrough Products down, and he mentioned that R/C products sales are way down...and he's doing more non-rc related business these days.
The WEB SITE and any NEW Small Spur Gears have both been put on hold until something changes in the economy to make it worth spending monies that are tight.
For those of you who think KIMBROUGH is a large business, the shop is basically just JAY right now...
I'd love to see them and thier products stay alive in this hobby, but economy & competition have pushed them away
thank you PRS for adapting to the racers needs and for your great machined spurs instead of the crappy molded stuff .....
two big thumbs way up!
GAME OVER!
Tornado_Racing 11-03-2008, 04:17 PM Just an FYI................
Barry at MSA should have the new 72 and 74 spurs tomorrow as well as 76-100.
72 is the smallest we can make with the 12 outer diff ball pattern. Anything smaller would require a totally new gear with 11 or even 10 diff ball holes.
Anyone seeing a need for pinions up to 70 tooth?
BRDRACING 11-03-2008, 04:19 PM I have heard some of the Electric Dirt oval guys looking for something in the 66 to 70 range.
Hope that helps
Brooks
swtour 11-03-2008, 04:20 PM I can see a possible need for upto 70's on the VELO but the smaller SPUR may be enough to get there w/ the existing 65's.

jblackburn 11-03-2008, 08:27 PM Hey,
The 66-70T pinions could be useful - I'd buy them the moment they were released. I just need to find another pinion caddy that can hold them (the hyperdrive caddy is great, but I don't think those sizes would quite fit). Velodrome 21.5 already needs it, and 17.5 could need it at Indy and possibly Encino.
katf1sh 11-03-2008, 09:31 PM jesus you two love birds get a room! at the birds! you will have a week to make up with each other and than get mad at each other again!

When I was in need of a small spur for my TC3 in Truck Oval, PRS was the ONLY company that had what I needed. Just orderd another 5 more pinions for my TC5 in 13.5 Sedan.

Tornado_Racing 03-27-2009, 07:34 AM Just to let you guys/gals know, Larry Willen on the of the PRS owners lost his dad this week. I do not have any details other than he was fighting Alzheimers (sp?). Mike and Larry started their business many years ago he had a big part in getting them boyz off their feet.
Please keep Larry and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
