Mike OBrien 01-15-2004, 06:51 AM i need some info on the track in jamestown NY
Naz53 01-15-2004, 01:16 PM Mike,
Hi, the track is located just out of Jamestown in Falconer, NY across from the John Deer dealer there. The track is ozite and has about a 186-189 ft run line, long straights & and nice corners not sweeping but not to tight. It is a nice track!!! Right now they are running pretty much oval / anything with 3-4 cars will make a class. The main classes are stock truck / buggy, modified truck / buggy (not sure if they made it cameleon 2 class or not) then Stock Pan car. They are getting a very good turn out, I know allot of the guys running up there & it is a very nice group to race with. The track is smooth also, once in awhile a couple minor bumps (they role the track out each night & roll it up at the end). They also run orderless traction compound (mainly Jack). I know there has been talk about road course also but not sure if they are running that yet. I would like to make it there more often I know that. Hope that helped out!!!

JeffPatch29 01-15-2004, 02:01 PM Mike,
Shaun is right about the classes but we are also running east coast mod. We have also talked about running 19 turn and open mod and a few of us will probably do some testing. road course is still in the planning stages. There is plenty of power but at this time you need to bring your own table and chair. Huge pit area, so space is not a problem. You might want to get ahold of Glenn Singleton as he comes up on a regular basis(if he's not pulling). You might drive to his place and hook up with him for the rest of the trip. If you plan on over nite, there are 3 motels within 5 minutes of the track. Track opens at 4:00 on Sat. and Racing starts at 6:00. New Autoscore timing system- new ozite. For more info contact Craftworld and ask for Greg.(1-800-737-1180 or 716-484-1780. If I can be of anymore help let me know and hope to see you soon.

Naz53 01-15-2004, 08:14 PM Bob,
I was hoping you would see this topic for Mike.
Mike, right now the main pan car class is 4 cell stock, but Bob mentioned above they are looking at 19t or modified also. Can't wait to try to get back up there. Later.
Mike OBrien 01-16-2004, 05:39 AM thanks guys im going to try to make it up in a few weeks
pancartom 11-19-2004, 10:08 PM is this place still running? i'm thinking of a road trip in a couple of weeks.
JeffPatch29 11-20-2004, 12:55 PM Hey Tom, nice to hear from you. The track is currently running. Saturdays, track opens at noon and racing starts at 4:30. Right now we are running both a 4 cell stock class and 4 cell 19 turn class. Most people in 19 turn are still running cameleons, but everyone is eventually going to switch to Arcor type motors. We have not tried open Mod yet, but 2 weeks from now I will be back at the track and am going to try it in practice. The track is no longer being rolled up every week, they located to a different part of the same building and only have to pull 1 corner up, which is out of the run line anyhow. Turn-out has been in the 40-50 range the first couple weeks, and normally starts picking up this time of year. Hope to see you down here soon, hope everything is well, take car. -Jeff Patch
pancartom 11-20-2004, 02:01 PM thanks for the reply, jeff. what about traction compounds? quad magnets in stock? personal transponders? is there an address for the building that i can mapquest?
JeffPatch29 11-20-2004, 10:29 PM Tom, all traction compounds are odoress, we run by roar rules so the new epic motor is legal but the old is not. We use an amb scoring system so we do use personal transponders, and I will have to get boack to you on the address, if you wanted, as long as you can get to jamestown ok we would be willing to meet you somewhere and show you the rest of the way, let me know when your planning on making it down. Take care.
Porksalot4L 11-21-2004, 04:29 AM where exactly is this track located. i live in NORTHEAST PA and am wondering how far it is. thanks in advance!
joe ivo
Mike OBrien 11-21-2004, 07:54 AM joe its like 4 1/2 hrs
JeffPatch29 11-21-2004, 11:58 AM Tom, Jeff forgot to mention that last week Pete D., Billy K., and Dillon W. were down. Said that they had a great time and would definitely be back. Petey set new track record in 19T (53). Wow, now isn't that a surprise, ha ha. Hope to see you soon.
Bob
johnqpublic 11-21-2004, 02:59 PM Jeff,
Greg told me that they are sticking w/ the Chameleons. I dont care what they do, as long as he picks something and stays with it.
Tom, I've been racing there quite often too. Billy said it took him around 2 hrs to get there. Hows the turnout at Fountain on Saturdays...I'm gonna try to make it up in about 3 weeks or so.
"Pancar" Wally.
JeffPatch29 11-21-2004, 07:27 PM Wally, I don't care much either, I would rather go to arcor because the ROAR rules are changing and from what I've seen the Arcor 19 turn classes seem to be more competitive, but I will run what everyone else is. I'm goingt o be trying to run open mod in a week or so, so maybe we can get one of those classes going.
Porks, Are you talking about the North East near Erie PA? we are located approx. 45 minutes East of Erie just above the NY/PA line.
Everyone, I will post an address for people who would like to research mapquest directions. We currently do not have a website, but I know we have someone looking into one and might have one up in a month or so.
johnqpublic 11-21-2004, 08:52 PM Hey Jeff,
I'm gonna go over the the track in Erie on tuesday. You goin?
Paul
JeffPatch29 11-22-2004, 07:56 AM No I don't think so, I have school tonight, so chances are I am going to have homework to do tomorrow night, and then I have school wednesday and thursday night also. I won't be at jamestown This coming saturday, but I will next saturday. Since I'm getting back into racing on a weekly basis, I have to spend as muhc time with the family as I can, I don't see them enough as it is, so I am going to keep it to once a week at jamestown.
pancartom 11-22-2004, 09:23 AM yea, jeff... i talked to billy at the mall last wed night, and he said that he had a great time. i'd probably run stock, as all i have in 19 turn are arcor's and i'm not going back to the lizards. i'm not getting back home till next monday, so i'll have to see when i'm going to make the trip.... either the 4th or the 11th?.
wally, the car count at FR has been low. they are running all 4 cell together. at times, it makes for interesting races (although they do seperate the heats by laps run). the fact of the situation is that there just aren't enough 4 cell pro cars to run seperately. not sure where they all went. let me know when you are coming up, and i'll see if i can't grab baker and be there too.
JeffPatch29 11-22-2004, 11:18 AM Tom, they have decided to run arcors and lizards together for the rest of the season to give guys the opportunity to cycle out their lizards and then go to arcor next season. Carpaletti only has arcors and a couple of other guys have them coming, so feel free to bring yours. We have a big race coming up on the 18th of Dec. We're expecting probably 25 to 30 stocks and at least a dozen 19 turn. Might even get some guys to run mod. Hope to see you soon.
Bob
pancartom 11-22-2004, 11:55 AM thanks for the reply, bob. i'll bring my 19's and decide when i get there what i will run. it sounds like a fun track, to be sure. any advice on rollout would be appreciated as well.
later,
tom
ShortHanded 11-22-2004, 08:41 PM Tom, it's Jack D.
Several of us were taking about making the trip soon ... let me know when you are thinking of going down...maybe we can make the caravan a little longer. Probably Bill D., "Demolish", myself, maybe Butch and a few others. I'll be at Fountain Saturday...been quiet w/o you guys...
Talk soon..
pancartom 11-22-2004, 09:48 PM hi jack.. like i said, i'm away till monday. but, i'll be at the mall next wednesday, and i'll see what kind of interest there is. i talked to baker tonight, and he's up for a raod trip. talk to you when i come back up north.
ShortHanded 11-22-2004, 10:53 PM Tom, sounds good...enjoy the sun
pancartom 12-06-2004, 10:10 AM jack, it looks like this saturday is a go. it looks like pete r, greg and jake might head down as well.
JeffPatch29 12-06-2004, 11:05 AM Figures Tom! I won't be there this week because I am going to my wife's christmas party in Buffalo. The week after they are having a big race down here so I will be there for that, maybe you guys might be interested in coming down for that one too? let me know, later. -Jeff
pancartom 12-06-2004, 12:47 PM hmmmm, what's the big race? maybe we'll delay the trip for a week. let me know, jeff
JeffPatch29 12-06-2004, 01:15 PM They formed a local series down here this year called the Hooter Chassis Outlaw Tour. They travel to 4 Tracks, Jamestown, Erie, A track near meadville, and one more I can't remember off the top of my head. This year it is only 4 cell stock, but next year depending on participation and some other factors may spread into other classes. There will be more details on it at the track, Or my dad might be able to get on here and shed some more light on the subject (he's one of the board members of this series that helped get it going.) This past week there were 60 entries there, but most of entries were other classes. We had 2 heats of 4 cell stock, 2 heats of 6 cell stock, and 1 heat of 4 cell 19 turn. This race should bring in some guys from all over, because so far they have been having 15-20 people travel for the series, or at least that many. Not sure if there are going to be trophies or anything but like I said I will get my dad on here to inform you a little better. Hope you guys can make it, take care.
JeffPatch29 12-06-2004, 06:09 PM Tom, like Jeff said, we have a kind of mini tour going on down here. One race a month at three different tracks and two rounds at each track. at the end of the series we will have an awards banquet. No trophies for individual races. we have 23 cars(4 cell stock) in the series. there are also a few cars not in the series. I would imagine most people will be at the track this week for practice, so either week is probably good. we also run stock truck, mod truck(19 turn), mini T, east coast mod(stock), touring cars, and any class that has at least 3 entries. last week we had 14 heat races and 12 mains. if I can help you with any more info, let me know. looking forward to seeing you guys again. oh I almost forgot- we are planning a memorial race for Allyn Sheldon sometime this season. I will let you know more when details are finalized. Bob
