View Full Version : Daytona Speedway Spectacular Hank80 03-13-2004, 09:53 AM I got mine Thursday, I'm looking forward to the fun or could it be carnage? RC4less 03-13-2004, 10:25 AM If you have a weak constitution or are easily upset then be for-warned it won't be pretty when JoMamma goes down in a pile of gooooo after the return of the 1/10 version of the Figure4. I've already heard the story line from Bean, how the 1/12 title was "Stolen" last year due to the rain-wash-out of the mains on Sunday. But he should look at it in a positive way, when your a lap down already in qualifying and the NatureBoy hasn't even brought out the good stuff yet, your in deep trouble for the Feature Event. I'm sure there will be enough Figure4's to go around come next weekend  !! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hank80 03-13-2004, 11:52 AM I'm going to get all of this in mpeg format and digital pic's. It's going to be FUN watching all of this! I'll be at stricklands next weekend. THANKS wade 03-21-2004, 09:07 PM Thanks go out to Mike, Curt, Mel and the rest of M/B racing it was a great race. Got the car fast on Sat. but it was like I had a BIG red target painted on it all week-end. I believed I crashed with everybody in my heats except Jerry and thats cause I never saw him, same problem in the B-main except I had 2 RED targets on it . Thats ok I got to turn marshall for the best race of the week-end Stock A-main. What a race !!! Katfish you described it well . Jerry was awesome he just kept his mind on the big picture The A-main on Sunday. He completely rebuilt the car Fri. after the chassis , bumper and battery tray were all cracked and splinterd, the problem was it was a Hyper 700 and the only chassis I had was a Hyper Pro-2 so he went with that. I know I couldnt switch from a slider to a solid chassis on race day and be competitive let alone win. Then on Sat he decided to switch speedos , but we were both having problems with our soldering irons so the iron he used to attach the wires messed up the speedo. He doesnt catch it till Qualifying time POOF!!! it was on fire, melted in the side of his body , he had take a heat gun to the lexan and try to mold it back, plus he missed his Qualifier, still he wasnt phased he just kept on wrenching ( we also only had 1 pinion wrench between the 2 of us lol) He changed the car completely around for 3rd Q on Sat. new speedo, different set-up, different tires, everything. came back in after the Q and said the car has more in it . He took everything back to the motel with him Sat. night and completely rebuilt the car AGAIN. He came in late Sun. morning and said the car is ready I just need to run a couple of laps to make sure ( I had been keeping batteries charged for the both of us all week-end he certainly didnt have time !!) I said great heres a battery go test. It was fast... he brought it back in the trailer pulled out the practice pack put a new pack in it and said he was ready. The mains started and he starts looking at the gear chart and getting me to punch up roll-outs on the calculator. He was in race 11, 2 races before his main he decides to change the gear....unbelievable!! Just kept his cool and his mind on winning ;) What a week-end , My wife said it best on the way home , " you didnt win, you didnt even make the A , but would you have wanted to miss all that fun!! I smiled the rest of the way home :) Hank80 03-21-2004, 09:12 PM Everybody: No problem I will bring 12 cd's to Stricklands this weekend so that way I think I should have everybody covered, I hope? Can anybody touch Mike Boylan in 19-Turn? WOW! Thought Billy Bruce would have a chance in the main but Mike added a full lap on the TQ time in the 10 car feature! Congrats Mike!! The Nature Boy just did edge out JoMamma who languished in the B, but it was only because he loaned me a battery for my dyno, so would have to call it even for sure! Can't wait until next year and looking forward to the new track surface! BT bigdon18 03-23-2004, 12:15 PM Does anyone have a pic of the cars when they where all on the front shut before the mains.
