Hey guys I did a search for the Classic thread and nothing came up except the old Asphalt thread so I figured I would start a new one to keep the discussions going for this year's carpet season.

Last night everyone ran stock due to a light turn out in mod and 19T. We had such a great time that we will probably do this once a year now.

Congrats to Frank Peachock on the TQ (53 4:00) and win.

The Hangover Classic is on New Year's Day, Jan 1.

Alot of us locals are going to Sandhills for their Memorial race Jan 3-4 so this way we can race both races.

I am not sure what time the race starts. I will find that out this week and post back.

Any update on guys that are coming down to run the memorial race at sandhills i know the Liehr's are coming hopefully all three!

By the way this is either Jonathan or Richard Medlin

Yep all 3 Liehr's will be there, Lauren for stock, Adam for 19T open, Ricky for Mod. Me, Rick White, Greg Finan, and Sky Nichols, are running stock, I heard from Joel Biro last night he is running either 19T 0 or open not sure. John Taylor will run either stock or 19T 0. Frank Peachock is running Mod, Rob Meisch running 19T open and Herbie Coulbourne and his crew plan on running their Indy cars.
So we have a pretty decent sized crew.
Thanks,
Eric Hutkay

12-19-2003, 12:30 AM
Hey Johnny,
We have quite the battle going for the points. It's cool to see the competition between the tracks. This past summer Classic was the only track running Master's stock so it was kind of boring to follow.

Can't wait to get down to Sandhills. Looking forward to running with you guys again.

Nice job on the track record. The day I heard about it I called Mike O'brien to rub it in. Told him his track record was old news, LOL

C-ya'll in a couple weeks

Yea i like the points series but i wonder why the other tracks in arcor don't run the points like thunderroad i think it be nice to kinda be like the big boys and have more than 40 going for it i realize that's there more than 20 in ours but for only 2 tracks and that sucks!

I know Red Fox up here in Ohio joined ARCOR a couple months ago but I don't beleive any of the racers are members yet. So none of them would be eligible for points. I talked to JB and she said a couple of the other tracks that were participating in the points last year did not rejoin ARCOR so they are out as well.
It's a shame cause I think it's something to look forward to. Plus the glass plaques they give out are pretty nice !!!! LOL

Great job to Adam Liehr who TQ'd stock with a 53 4:02, (one of the fastest runs this year by anyone) and ending up winning the main as well. Also nice runs by Adam Leihr in 19T and Frank Peachock who TQ'd, Won the main and set this season's new track record.

The track seems like it is really picking up the pace.

Jonathan,
Yep definately try and make it up for the Arcor open. We always get good crowds plus some of the best competition around. Plus your Sandhills setup up will work at Classic with a few minor tweaks so the learning curve is not that bad.

So far we are all still coming down to the memorial. Only one guy dropped out cause he is going to a flat track race in Tennessee but we should still have 10+ guys coming down.

rather be racin

I am cupcake (Eric Hutkay), LOL actually Erock is my correct nickname, not sure how the whole cupcake thing got started down there last year. I think John Taylor from our group put Doc Love up to calling me that. LOL,
I will be running stock at the Memorial. I have not been running 19T so I'd be out to lunch in that class.

I talked to Mike O'brien last night he can't make it down for the Memorial cause he has to work.

So that makes me, Rick White, John Taylor, Lauren Liehr for stock from our group.

For the ARCOR open some of us plan on messing around with 19T 0 degree so I will probably run that class and stock at that race or just 19T 0 only.

Classic guys, I am not sure how many of you are going to the Birds' but the weekend of the 10th of January there is a warm-up race in Rochester at a "snowbirds" type track. it is about 20 feet shorter but is very nice and a first class facility. Pete and I have been runnin there weekly since we got back from Ohio. Should be a good crowd of mod, 19t and Stock. Check out the website www.fountainraceway.com Hope to see most of you in NC next week. See you around.

Red Fox raceway (about an hour and a half south of Akron) is hosting the Arcor Ohio State race on Feb 28.

Although the track is shorter than Classic their Banking is similar so car setup very close. Which makes this race a great warmup for the ARCOR open in April.

Hope to see you at both events.

For more info on the State race, see the ARCOR section here in Hobbytalk.

Hey guys what body works best in 19T open? What wing do I need and do you mount it on the body? Thanks Hacksaw

erock1331
03-17-2004, 05:13 PM
Proto-Taurus, Dodge,
Bolink Dodge
Are the most common

All depends on how much downforce you like on a car.

As far as the wing we run the Buds (BRP) Pro Flo wing.

Snookie,
Hey for the Busch class first off there are some specific rules. The back of the body must be left in and no raised wing is allowed only the spolier.
Tires must be spec tires.
I would run Blues up front and Greens in the rear. If the car is too tight try a Blue RR.

I would run either the Protoform Taurus or Dodge body. The Dodge will keep the car a little more planted. I ran both in Busch and they were both fast just a matter of preference.

Straight up pod
Front springs try wolfe black springs for starters
Side springs, Gold LR, Red RR, 35 wt
T-plate - .063 Fiberglass or Finishline double slot
Spur gear something between 112-120.
Center spring, something in the 6-10lb range
55 wt oil.
Front end locators:
LF in the middle, RF all the way in
