View Full Version : GLRC Saturday night Indoor Stadium trucks
David Washburn 11-15-2004, 09:05 PM i dont care anymore
John Warner 11-15-2004, 09:08 PM #2 is the only sensible choice. (it's my thoughts, not a vote since I don't race truck)
You guy's can compare lap times and race results between the different classes.
David Washburn 11-15-2004, 09:13 PM i don't care anymore
John Warner 11-15-2004, 09:17 PM David, let me see if I can shed some lght on what's happening for ya.....
The brushless guy's trucks go TOO FAST and they can't control them. By doing this, they end up taking out the slower brushed truck in almost every corner. We can no longer accept the word of the driver that he has his or hers radio turned down to be more like stock. Could you imagine a bunch of novice drivers in the sedan class running let's say a 9 single against the rest of the stock motored cars. There would be carnage everywhere..... kinda like there is in the trucks!!
John Warner 11-15-2004, 09:18 PM we are still learning how to control it on the track and until the entire a main is filled with nothing but brushless I think it should stay the way that it is now
Don't you agree that it would be better for all of you to learn together in the same class?????
David Washburn 11-15-2004, 09:19 PM i dont care anymore
John Warner 11-15-2004, 09:22 PM Bottom line is this......
we're going to try it this weekend and see how it works, and how everybody likes it.
Scott b#111 11-17-2004, 07:37 PM like the foam & rubber tires?
bustedparts 11-19-2004, 02:49 PM Well I'm about ready to shead up some glrc rug!My truck has some new parts on it and I am more than ready.I have a question for you t4 guys.I put team inline front axels on my truck and set it up the way it said in the instructions as a inline setup.Whats the difference between inline and trailing stearing, and what does it do?Thanks!
JimRuninit 11-22-2004, 10:58 AM Thanks for the heads up David
erik z 11-22-2004, 04:16 PM john can we run novak 4300 brushless motors in stock class there suposed tobe equal to 27 turn motor
Mike Champ 11-22-2004, 07:30 PM like the foam & rubber tires?
Scott ? Is it you ?
When are we going to see you at the track ?
You are the scott that runs rubber and foam, right ?
Hope to see you soon at the track, buddy...
Mike
John Warner 11-22-2004, 07:53 PM john can we run novak 4300 brushless motors in stock class there suposed tobe equal to 27 turn motor
Erik....
Yes, the 4300 is considered a stock motor, and can run in the stock class.
Mike Champ 11-22-2004, 07:56 PM john can we run novak 4300 brushless motors in stock class there suposed tobe equal to 27 turn motorSo why do you ask AGAIN, if you know it is legal... If any concerns by any other racers, we will do a heads up between a brushless and a fast brushed motor in the straight away, and you will turn your End Point Adjustement down (that is if you are faster of course...) until we come to something comparable between both... Everybody happy ?
Now, PLEASE, let's keep that thread about truck racing, not Brushless vs brushed motor... Thank you...
If you show up, the club will do whatever you, racers, want. It has always been like that, and it will always be...
If racers have different opinions (and I'm sure they do...) it is easier to find a compromise at the track, instead of on a thread...
I will see anybody at the track this saturday that want to race. Whether it is with a RC10T / T2 / T3 / T4 or XXXT / XXXT MF / XXXT MF2 or Rustler or Evader or Kyosho ultima and any other truck with any kind of motor, you are WELCOME !!!
Lots of competition and lots of FUN...
Bring it on, we can tell you for sure that you are going to have a blast...
FYI, I am open to swap my truck with somebody else's brushless for a heat... I'd just like to drive one... Anybody interested ???...
Also John, you have a PM...
Thanks,
Mike

OK Mister "I'm confused..."
You've been racing your brushless with us in the stock class since the beginning of the season, correct ?
And yes, GLRC has decided, due to the racers asking for "fair" race between brushed and brushless motor, to split them the week you weren't there (but somewhere else...). So, WE all have decided it doesn't matter to have the brushless running with us... They will be running with stock if that is what they want. End of the story. Thank you...
And Dustin, either get a FM radio or a RC18T... Wait another year for improved brushless system to come out... my 2cts...

Alright mister "Grand Rapids, Mi........"
i just find it funny that fred said that his decision is final?
Right, and it is funny to that he does not race truck and also had a group of sedan racers vote too, cause they were the ones wining about it the most, even if the didn't race truck

He said that, so we STOP debating about this on the thread.:freak:
Now, I have a life besides the discussion about Brushless vs brushed stock motor, so I'm sorry but I'm not going to discuss about it for years... End of the story on my side...
Maybe you should start another thread named "brushless vs brushed motor" if you only want to talk about that...
Later,

Here's what the "polls" showed at the time I posted this.
Brushless sedans should run with Brushed stock sedans. 1votes = 4.00%
Brushless sedans should be in a seperate class from stock brushed sedans. 7votes = 28.00%
Brushless trucks should run with brushed stock trucks. 3votes = 12.00%
Brushless trucks should be in a seperate class from stock brushed trucks. 14votes = 56.00%
This is what the people that voted wanted. 3 people voted for running them together, and 14 people wanted them in a seperate class.
Ballblazer 11-23-2004, 06:25 PM John,
So what were the race results from this weekend? I did not see any results posted on the GLRC site.

Good question. Fred had them and he's in Cleveland. I'd imagine with him getting ready to leave, and also holding races on Sunday, he may have forgot. Sorry!

John Warner 12-02-2004, 11:03 PM I also wanted to post this........
For the past 7 1/2 years, we at GLRC have always supported the stadium crowd, and they in return have supported us. I personally have made many, many friends with lots of you (or at least I thought I did) over the years and enjoyed the jokes and friendship we've shared in the past. Unfortunately some things have happened that can't be reversed, as well as rumors being spread that are one sided and untrue. Since 1996 we've always gone the distance to ensure that the racers in the Grand Rapids area would have somewhere to race. We've had our bad times, and we've had our good times, but we've always pulled through for you.
Some of the things I've heard that were been relayed to me are in fact totally hilarious. Some have some truth to them, but are well blown out of proportion and exaggerated beyond belief. At this point I'd like to apologize, and would also appreciate the opportunity to defend these rumors. Here on Hank's public forum is not the place to do so. I'll be at the track as usual if any of you would like to talk to me personally, or you can PM me, or email me at glrc03@yahoo.com. PM me if you'd like my phone number and I'll be happy to give it to you.
Thanks,
John

Erik,
We change out layout every week. Some weeks we layout a technical track, and some weeks we leave it wide open. Most times though we leave it kind of open in places, and tight in others. In stadium, the racers themselves laid out what they wanted. This past weekend, our layout netted the fastest racers only 14 laps. The other thing you might consider is the fact we have a larger racing surface to start with.
Thanks for the positive comment, it's greatly appreciated!
John
Fred Knapp 12-06-2004, 10:25 PM On Sunday's it's so wide open we just run Oval.
erik z 12-07-2004, 10:07 PM hey john are you guys racin truck friday night or still not sure let me know if ya are thanx Erik
John Warner 12-07-2004, 10:31 PM hey john are you guys racin truck friday night or still not sure let me know if ya are thanx Erik
Erik,
At the moment we haven't decided on Fridays. I put the poll up trying to find out if anybody would be interested in Fridays (2 heats and main), but maybe a different evening would work better instead. As of today, we're still open Saturday nights for those that show up.
Mike Champ 12-09-2004, 12:29 AM i like both tracks. havnt been racin long enough to know what the fued is about ive raced at both tracks the 2 tracks are very different i like glrc track for more speed tonys track is very tecnical lots and lots and lots of turns top lap times at tonys are 17 glrc mid 20's if you like faster track race at glrc if more tecnical is your choice west mi has your track this is what ive determined from racin at both . thanx to both you guys to give us a great hobby
I would actually not agree with that, but I don't want to create a conflict.
My opinion is that with the EZ-board, the track at WMRC is easier than the GLRC's one, meaning less technical, 'cause you can miss a turn and still going full speed...
So, I would say GLRC track is more technical and WMRC more "forgiving"...
Only my 2cts, I am not starting an argument here...
Thanks
Mike
Fred Knapp 12-09-2004, 02:52 PM In an effort to show our racers how much they are appreciated, this Saturday will be racer appreciation day and free food will be provided for all who show.
