View Full Version : GLRC Saturday night Indoor Stadium trucks
DamageIncRacing 10-10-2004, 08:19 AM you cannot get strykers in a diffrent compound, thats why I run foam, the strykers don't hook up as well as weiner dudes. The guy that has 20 sets of weiner dudes in his closet is going to win a rubber race.
My bad... Thats why I run foam, too. :D
David Washburn 10-10-2004, 10:07 PM I heard from a friend of mine that he recently raced at riders and had a brushless system stolen out of the back of his van by two people and that they both are racing in the grand rapids area so if you know who did it or you race in the GR area watch your stuff
his explanation is that he has a friend that raced several years ago that gave it to him, because he didn't need it any more :jest: :jest:
and we are not stupid they came out a year ago, so someone is a big liar and thief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
groundhogg 10-11-2004, 10:31 PM What are most people running for stadium truck? Foam or Rubber?
How was the turnout last weekend?
Does Rider's in GR carry the foam tire of choice?
was considering running next saturday....

I make the tires of choice, foams on proline velocity wheels or losi wheels. $28 on your rims or I can get rims for $15 for velocity wheels. JACO foams work good but the hubs break out of the wheels, stadium can be very brutal. Look me up tires take about 1 week to make. I pit by Dave Washburn and Clifford.
David Washburn 10-12-2004, 07:22 AM yea u should come this weekend we need more racers
groundhogg 10-12-2004, 09:32 PM Well, looks like I shouldn't have any problem finding tires. Nick at Hobby Hub will have some.
But I noticed in the picture of the track that only a couple of kicker jumps were on the stadium track. Hope theres some better stuff than that.

There's plenty more jumps, and much bigger ones too, as well as a couple of table tops. The jumps in those pictures were only placed there to see how they'd fit after they were carpeted.
See ya soon!

David Washburn 10-12-2004, 10:14 PM i heard that those foam break alot
groundhogg 10-14-2004, 08:33 PM So are people running stock foam? or modified?
How many showed last weekend?
David Washburn 10-14-2004, 08:53 PM we run both and last week we had eight people show but it was kinda by invintation only
Dustin 10-14-2004, 09:00 PM Most of the people running stadium run stock foam. If you have a brushless you can still run in the stock class because the competition is pretty fair.
David Washburn 10-14-2004, 09:07 PM yea he is right the track tight so speed isn't a bid factor
wreckscuba 10-14-2004, 10:24 PM i heard that those foam break alot I only used two sets all winter. They worked great for me.

dhauch 10-18-2004, 07:15 PM Hey guys,
I came up and checked out your track this last Sat.
All I have is a 2 wd buggy and brushless motor.
There wasn't any buggies there, could I race with the mod. Trucks ?
If so, I would be more then happy to give any placings, I just want someone to race with.
I borrowed a set of rubber slicks to put on my 2 wd buggy, it was like driving on ice.
I'm going to get some foam tires.

Dustin 10-18-2004, 07:18 PM Post that on the Great Lakes Racers 2004/2005 thread on onroad racing so Fred and John can see it. That way you could get an answer faster.
dhauch 10-18-2004, 07:26 PM Thanks Dustin.

John Warner 10-18-2004, 07:29 PM Dave,
Not a problem, we'll add you in with the trucks! Usually there's a few buggies in the crowd, but unless somebody speaks up and says they want to run them, nobody does.
