Bob W 12-01-2003, 09:56 PM Tom thanks for posting Sundays results. Looks like the MOMBA all got ran over. http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/q/bawling.gif OOPS .... I mean they were all in the B main. :D infrontracing 12-02-2003, 07:05 PM Well what a coincidence. Tom wanted to post the results of Sundays race,....and look who set the new track record. Oh....its Tom! lolololol Just razzin ya Tom, I would be posting it too if I ran that good. Let me know when youre ready to pass along some tips to us slow guys. tfrahm 12-03-2003, 01:40 PM Just curious about the classes... "Brushless Pan Cars" sort of explains itself, I guess (6-cell?) What is "Super Stock" ?? Where is "Mendenhall Speedway"? MK Race 12-03-2003, 05:52 PM Hey Tom, the track is in the Illinois Springfield. Rochester actually. Brushless is 4-cell, no wing, just a spoiler, no cutting out the back of the body. Super stock is for us, just the normal rules. They have a stock class too, same rules as brushless, just a stock motor though. tfrahm 12-04-2003, 12:15 PM Hmmm.. Spoiler only, no cutting out the back of the body... That used to be considered pretty evil handling, but I haven't tried that since my 6-cell days.. Springfield, Illinois, huh... I used to live there (Chatham) -- wonder if any "old friends" want a house guest? (LONG trip for me). Wait -- I know... I'll get the wife to want to make a Christmas shopping trip up there to ?White Oaks? shopping center (I think that's the name?) and I'll just "find something to do" while we're there.. LOL! MK Race 12-04-2003, 02:16 PM Tom, 10 bucks to race, wife at the mall, you lose. jake86 12-04-2003, 04:47 PM hey mk are the guys still planing on coming down to springfield,mo next week end? MK Race 12-04-2003, 05:16 PM hey mk are the guys still planing on coming down to springfield,mo next week end? I'll be talking with them this weekend. I know Jay can't do any racing on Saturdays because of a heavy work load before Christmas. I'll be talking to Todd, Mark, Big Rob, and Bob. jake86 12-04-2003, 05:39 PM WELL JUST LET US KNOW. tmurray 12-04-2003, 08:48 PM Mike K, Are you coming up to Allens Sunday? Tom M. MK Race 12-04-2003, 11:03 PM Not sure yet Tom. I've been on road trips since the first weekend of November up at Chilli. I might stay home this weekend. mullins 75 12-05-2003, 04:44 PM MK RACE are you going to the SNOWBIRDS!   MK Race 12-08-2003, 12:20 AM MK RACE are you going to the SNOWBIRDS!   No Larry, can't make again this year. Funny thing is my Stepmother mentioned that she would like to make a trip down there, but can't get her to come to terms about selling me my Dad's buildings. MK Race 12-08-2003, 12:21 AM Racing Sunday. YEEEEH HAAAAAAAW Where's those results???? :D Bob W 12-08-2003, 12:49 AM http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/b0/pray.gif Plow master ....did U have a hard time getting that fat, Oops I mean, BIG head in the door when U got home. http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/0/acme.gif If your wife can't find a anvil, then A swift kick in the butt will help with that problem.http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/c0/bgrroll.gif infrontracing 12-09-2003, 12:46 AM Well Murray, looks like you will have three less people to pass Wednesday. I decided to stop racing my pan car last week and Joe and Kevin are having the same thoughts. Kevin said he has spent nearly $200 on tires and has only been racing for 2 months. I guess all that power makes your set up just that much more critical. What it all boils down to is, you cant have people who are dialed in racing with people who are not dialed in. It just results in chunked tires and pissed off racers. Pan oval is just more money and work than we expected. Too bad we couldnt find some rubber tires to run on. MK Race 12-09-2003, 01:00 AM Why don't you guys just change your rules a little? Run the same rules as the Super Stock class, except run the brushless motor. Might want to set it on the stock setting too. If you cut the back out and add a spoiler the cars will handle much better, but will be much quicker too. I bet lap times would be in the low 3 seconds. When I talked to Joe the first night you guys ran at Jacksonville we both thought that the cars had way too much power and things could get ugly. We could switch to mod motors in our cars and go a lot faster, but there would be more high speed crashes and not so much close racing. Just my thoughts. Hate to see you guys give it up infrontracing 12-09-2003, 01:17 AM I am always up for trying new things. I agree with what you are saying but now that we are this far into it I dont know if Allen is open to change. I think I can speak for most of us guys with brushless motors that we went to these systems for the low maintenance and the fact that you cant tweak them. We really dont need all the power in some classes (such as the pan cars) The outdoor vehicles are perfect with these systems in them. Especially the sprint cars. We've never had so much fun as we did with them. But like I said before, some of us are dialed in and some are not. If some beginners were mixed in with you St. Louis guys, I think the chunks would be flying there too. lol Im keeping the car until I see if the rules change or the races are set up differently but its just too expensive the way its going now. infrontracing 12-09-2003, 01:21 AM The new brushless "stock" motors might be a option for our class also. They are supposed to replicate a stock 27 turn motor. Hell, then we could run with you guys! LOL  JBRACER2 12-09-2003, 02:55 AM I think you guys should try cutting the body out and run a wing. Maybe run a fixed gear ratio. Just gear down a little so the cars arent so fast. Just a thought. Hate to see guys stop racing :( infrontracing 12-09-2003, 03:03 AM Yeah, there are definatly things we could try. But getting everyone together is another thing. I still race sedan and 12th scale so we are not quitting racing all together. Do you guys race outdoor? I know kelm does. What do you run outside? JBRACER2 12-09-2003, 03:21 AM we ran some at the quarter midget track at Greenville IL. It is concrete oval. Check it out at www.I-70qma.com Joe Novak 12-09-2003, 01:33 PM I never thought that pan car would be as much work as it is. It's amazing watching you guys from St.Louis run as well and clean as you do. I think the only thing us brushless guys can do is slow the cars down and get them planted a little better, when there are six cars in one heat and three out of the six are hooked up and the others are not it makes for real bad racing that gets very expensive and thats just not fun to anyone,I have more fun watching superstock race then racing my brushless. Like Scott I am not going to stop racing I may just pick up another class and run it. Anybody looking for a brand new L4? I just bought in sunday from Allen now I am not even going to build it. MK Race 12-09-2003, 06:42 PM If you guys start dropping out of the class, then it won't much fun racing with just 3-4 cars and then those guys will drop out too. If that happens, then Allen will lose racers. Changing the rules right now would be the best thing to do. If he doesn't want to change the rules, then he will lose racers. He told me that the guys wanted to have the cars kind of lose so they will have to be driven to go fast. lose on carpet is NOT a good thing. Change the rules to make the cars handle better. Then he has to change the setup for the heat races. 6 cars in a heat race in just trouble waiting to happen. Run 3 in a heat, and then 6 in the main. Maybe when you get the points series going, he could then seed the heats by points, which will put the better cars together. Pan cars aren't really that much work, just ask the St. Louis guys about how much I work on mine. The trouble that you guys have is the more power, the harder the car hits things, which will either break things or tweak them out of shape. I do think the brushless system is going to be the thing in the near furure. Outside on the dirt it is at its best. No maintenance is great. If you guys want, put in a brush motor and run with us, or maybe run it in stock setting with us. Just use our body rules. jake86 12-09-2003, 06:45 PM Yeah Mk Cars Sit In The Corner And Collect Dust All Week. Lol When Is The Trip To Mo. Mike? infrontracing 12-09-2003, 07:11 PM The idea of making the cars loose was mostly Allen's. We didnt think it was a bad idea until we tried it. We talked him out of spec tires. And like you said, "loose cars on carpet is not good." I would like to see what my car would do with the wing and set in stock mode. I may have to try it. As far as people dropping out, there are a few more poeple still getting ready to start racing brushless pan so our spots will be soon filled. ROBSKI 12-10-2003, 01:36 AM have not had much to say for a while.welcome to racn at pontoon!! don't think it's E Z to run with these guys but it can be fun. wish i had a set up for my sprinter at jacksonville ,but o well ,try next year.hope to do some racn when weather gets bad. speed kills and cost a lot of money :drunk: see you all soon  Ralf 12-10-2003, 08:38 AM Robski! Good to see you posting! No racing here in NC in the winter (not near by anyway!) Raining in the mountains today so I am working on my work bench/shop so I can work on the cars and motors. Might as well get ready for the outdoor season. Hope you guys are still looking for a place to race in the winter. Could find an excuse to drive back for a weekend and race with you guys again. Maybe I can meet you guys at Allens somtime over the winter! If ya get out towards Candler NC stop by and I'll put ya up for a few days! Ralf  Joe Novak 12-13-2003, 01:02 PM Are any of the pontoon guys coming to allens on sunday? MK Race 12-13-2003, 02:23 PM I don't think so Joe. Might not be a good day for flying though, so maybe a couple of the flyers could make it. :) ROBSKI 12-14-2003, 06:11 AM hay Mike, you are correct sir! about time to to dust things off. do they race at allens on wed nights ? I believe I'm gonna need a shackdown cruise to get things back on track.what class are most of you run' n and what class under that should i be run'n :( good to here from you Ralf, sound's to me that 2 hours to the track is a small price to pay for that view out your window. see you all soon MK Race 12-14-2003, 11:43 AM Hey Ski, we are running the same rules we ran at Pontoon. They do have a Sportsman class that they run with no wings and can't cut the back of the body out. They do race on Wednesday nights. Looks like they run both classes. Check out his website. http://www.allensrccars.com/ Hey Ralf, what tracks can you go to? Ralf 12-14-2003, 01:09 PM MK, I have heard of two tracks within 2-3 hours. Big Daddy's North Atlanta GA area (haven't found a web site yet), and Smokey Mountain Raceway www.smokeymtn.rctech.net . Hoping to check out the Smokey Mountain track the weekend after Christmas. Been working on my work bench and shop area lately. You guys still looking for a place to put in a track? or just doing the road trip thing? Might get back that way in January. I'll bring a car with me, maybe go to Allens if you guys are hewading there. And Robski! Your'e right, I should be ashamed to be complaining fo driving with the view I have. See ya'll soon! Ralph :dude: MK Race 12-14-2003, 01:36 PM Ralf, no place to race at home, yet. Something might be in the works by February. Just doing the road trip thing. When we go to Allen's we meet at the rest area on 55 then stop in Litchfield for breakfast. After racing, we stop at the "unofficial" eating place in Litchfield again, Ponderosa. Everybody has a walkie talkie in the car so we can talk to each other on the way, unless you ride in Bob's truck. Somebody buy Bob some NEW spark plug wires. Thinking about going up there the Tuesday before Christmas Eve. What hockey teams you have to watch? B.A.D. Racing 12-14-2003, 06:06 PM Hey MK any details about the Feb. possibility? Hey Bob when and were for the next road trip? Bob W 12-14-2003, 08:00 PM Carl...Don't know yet . But it will be posted on here when we do. Shouldn't have mentioned the dot deflector. Ralf 12-17-2003, 09:54 AM Hey Bob! Is the club gonna buy one of those "car data recorders"? Sounds like a cool tool! Hope you guys can get a track soon. Will be coming back in mid to late Jan., might bring my stuff. Ralf  MK Race 12-18-2003, 07:47 PM Hey Joe, how about bringing the brushless car and letting me run to see what it needs and what it will do? MK Race 12-22-2003, 12:20 AM Good run Bob. 64 laps, new track record. Hope Ponderosa finds your ears in time to have them put back on after getting them ripped off your big fat head going through the door.  Bob W 12-22-2003, 09:01 AM YES YES YES Man, that dot deflector gismo really does work!http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/f/hump.gif Thanks Mike vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
