how many people showed up at the big race yesterday?

MK Race
08-01-2004, 12:14 PM
120+ cars. Just 3 heats of offroad and the rest were oval.

Hey Sonny, the speedo change worked good. The 9 single had lots of rip. I just used enough throttle to stay with the Tamiya driver, until I had a small incident, then I let er rip, WOW, 6.0 AND 6.1 laps until I caught back up. Had 34 seconds left at 25 amps. Waited till last lap past.

Great racin Tom.
Great racin with you too Wolfie. Your car was good and you drove a good race. Maybe next time.

I've got to say that was the best outside dirt track that I have ever raced on. Tom Murray did an awesome job on the track. The club put on a 1st class race.

Another Quality race at Jacksonville. Would have loved it more if MK would not have been bit by lap traffic, great run Mike, we will get that head to head run soon.

But it looks like the old Pontoon racers rising to the occasion.

Hey guys,
I gained about 2 lapps with the sprint but the car still pushed midway and comming out of the corner. I got the wing on the lowest setting, 15 degree castor block on the left 20 degree castor block on the right. front shocks have (I think) 1/8 limiter 20 weight oil and buggy black springs. The rear shocks have no limiters 80 weight oil blue buggy springs and the springs are cranked down about 1/4 of the way. I ran ribbed tires up front holshots in the rear. I noticed some people were running blade fronts--what do those effect handling. Thanks in advance--Zack

Just thought I would say hello to all, I have raced against a few of you fellow Central Illinois racers in years past. Still got most of the stuff from my second (late 90s) go around in RC (Started in the early 80s with RC10s and Big Boys Toys sprinters and sold all of that when I retired) and thinking about gitting back in the dirt this summer. :) Just bought a RC18T.

I have raced at Allen's before. I live in Jacksonville and use to race on the dirt and carpet here. I have an L3O that I raced in the NASTRUCK class they use to run when they had the track upstairs downtown. I ran a electric direct drive sprint car and an RC10GT that I have outdoors. I love the sprint car and really would love to get back into offroad.

Sonny Brown, great run last night. 63 laps. Great turnout for 4-cell stock, what 20 cars. I got lucky and just slipped into the A-main with a 61 4:01. That tire change for the main was the ticket. Went 62 4:02, starting from the back.

MK,

what tires did you end up running? i was on BSR-LR=green,RR=Grey/white/grey,LF=white,RF=Silver/Grey. I was thinking about running a white LR next time, maybe a green LF

I will have to talk to Sonny to see if it's ok to release that info. :)

MK Race

Hey Scott, your tire combo might have been ok, maybe the new Dodge would help turn it better. I ran the old Dodge and forgot that I had the Proto Monte with me.

Hey MK it sure was nice to see you pick it up for the main, you did not look right running second in the heats then again there were some very fast guys also!
