Tom Pedano 03-19-2006, 08:24 AM I copied this from the Thunder chat page: RCThunder ezOP Posts: 5308 (3/18/06 11:21 pm) Reply Re: Are we there yet? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I talked to Bean today and big news!!! The track location will be in a new spot this year and it will be smoother. Racers can now pit in the Nascar garages. No need for tents/power pitting there! Sounds like an awesome deal. Now you go in past the old track and make a turn into the garages. I want to pit in Tonys! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like we don't need to bring generators? And we can pit inside? More details please? Tom Echeconnee 03-19-2006, 11:12 AM I just talked to Bean, it's true, it's better and you guys without trailers will be in the Cup pits! That's awesome. The track size, shape and runline will be like stricklins. I can't wait to get there!!! oval racer 2 03-19-2006, 11:26 AM wow, this could make a great event even better! will there still be parking for trailers next to the track? can we plug trailers into power outlets? is this the smooth asphalt area where they used to hold legends races, that is near the shower area? also, can all winners have there pictures taken in victory lane? that would be sweeeet! imagine having a picture hanging on the wall of youself in victory lane at DAYTONA!!! man, is it thursday yet, i am ready to get going. Echeconnee 03-19-2006, 11:30 AM Bean said we will all have plug in's as long as we don't run the air. No generators needed! David Butts 03-19-2006, 07:20 PM Sounds like we don't need to bring generators? And we can pit inside? More details please? Tom I meself has spoken with the Beanest one. Sounds like it's gonna be big fun this year. Yes, Almost everything about the race has changed but it's still the same race. Make sense? If you have a trailer and must bring it, thats fine. Trailer parking will be not much farther from the track than it was last year if at all. Just not trackside. Please, If you unhook the trailer place a piece of wood or pad under the trailer leg. Treat the asphalt as your living room floor. the power will not sustain everyones air conditioners so if you must use it he asks that you bring a quiet generator. Also sit it on something and do not spill fuel. There will be a lot of indoor space in the actual Nextel cup garage. 40 to 50 bays in all. Just bring tables, chairs and extension cords. Each bay/space has multiple outlets but sharing is still expected. This will require every one to unload and then drive to a designated parking area. No exceptions. The track will not be exactly like last years but almost as large but will probably be more of a Martinsville(Stricklands Park) like track. Practice up with those throttle fingers boys. We's gonna do some short track racin r/c style. The track will be where the NC haulers park. Newer asphalt and in much better shape than last years. Maybe a bump or two but compared to last year, Who cares? We're expected to leave everything as we found it. Port-o-lets too! Since the racing is now basiclly inside the carshow area we have the opurtunity to expose r/c racing to many more people than just the ones that may have noticed the comotion while walking in or out. See all of you in a few days:wave: ValdostaRC 03-19-2006, 07:47 PM Will Mr. Bean or Curt Come on and verify all this? I dont have Nice expensive Coleman generator, so it will not be too quiet. If this will be a problem I need to know about it. Its the same Gen i have used there before. After all this renovation work you can darn sure bet the 9th Wonder of the World will be coming! hurricaneracing 03-19-2006, 10:00 PM Is there a schedule posted anywhere?
