Neither, I'm leaving for Florida the morning of the 31st. You guys aren't going to be at our big show on the 25th? Looks like we are going to have a pretty good showing. Its a sunday, opening at 9am racing at noon. Practice all day saturday and maybe a pickup race saturday nite.

Keith,

Sorry to say Wayne (pops) :dude: and Wade (rebel) can't make the trip. I have just as much fun hangin with the team on race day as I do racing so that part is going to suck. I'll have to introduce the buffalo blast :freak: to the priddles, thats who i'm pitting with down at the birds.

Please : SATURDAY, JAN 31 Is NOT The Adirondack Carpet Oval Challenge as posted above. The Carpet Oval Challenge will be scheduled sometime in March.
Saturday the 31st is race #3 in the 8 race/4 track point series and will be run as part of our regular Saturday night weekly program. January 24-25 is the Winter Warmup(Snowbird Warmup) trophy race as described by Murr11 in this post http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=73167
Hope this clears up any confusion.
I'm sorry but I thought race #3 in the 8 race/ 4 track point series IS the Adirondack Carpet Oval Challenge.

One thing I have been thinking about for a while now is this...
Why don't we play the National Anthem before the start of racing?

All sporting events play / sing the National Anthem before they start, some even play the Canadian National Anthem if the opposing team is from Canada.

Some people conceder this a hobby whale others conceder this a sport and the rest that just don't know any better say "we are a bunch of grown men & women playing with toys".

I believe the track in Rensselaer does this, why don't the rest of us?

Racing City R/C Raceway has every intention of running race #3 of the point series on January 31st as well as a second date on March 13th as scheduled. Our previous post was simply to calrify some what seemed to be some confusion.
Some racers had gotten the impression that our trophy race on the 24-25 was the point series race.
Our only communication with Kirt was several weeks before the dates were announced. At that time we agreed to look at what other tracks were planning before setting any dates. We had no furter communication from Kirt, and unsure of whether the series was going to happen, went ahead and scheduled our trophy race before seeing the dates for the point series posted on hobbytalk. None the less we are happy to co-operate and host the events on the 2 Saturday evenings as scheduled, along with our regular weekly program. We hope for a great turnout here as well as for the entire series.

For reasons unrelated to my above posts I am going to have to quit racing for a while. I am not selling any of my stuff at this time until I decide how this is going to be.

I still plan to come out to the local tracks from time to time to watch but I will not be racing.

I will let everyone know what my final decision when I make it.

Thanks to all who have helped me over the last couple of years.

I was on a 84 lap pace and then i got skulled  not just once but a couple times. Oh well being fast sucks when your in a slower heat. I was doing 3.5's and then i got dumped. Oh well theres always next weekend. I had fun though. Maybe next week i will get in the "A". We will see.

justin,

your car looked better this week than it has all season, it takes an almost perfect run to get into the 84/85 lap club, you need a clean run and lots of patience in traffic, what you lose buy going low to try and pass you cannot gain after the fact.

keep up the work and you will be running the show,

see ya at the track.

Mod and 19 turn
Let's get the modifieds back out for this Saturday :dude:
I'll be ready for 19 or modified, Any takers???

Those who haven't tried 19 turn, you really should give it a shot, it takes all the same driving skills, with a little more rip.

Whose up to the task???

About how far is this track from Providence, RI. Looks like a fun track!

THE BAT
02-23-2004, 05:45 PM
Mobil it's almost 5 hrs from providence.I wanted to try it also looks nice its about 4 1/2 for me.Go to mapquest and put in 110 main st. s.glen falls, ny.

KirtC
02-23-2004, 07:10 PM
Racing City Hobbies is no more than 4 hours from Providence. I live in between, Prov is 3 hours (to the airport) and SGF is 1 hour. Mapquest doesn't ralize the speed limit increase from 10 years ago!!

Besides, there is no speed limit for a Mod driver....right Jet LOL

We would love to have you guys up here

Justin you didn't miss a whole lot, well you did miss out on 6 hours of driving (2 hours going 50mph on the northway) then getting screwed over at the track. Oh well what can you do. But seriously, the food was really good!

If anyone needs directions to Racing City just ask. (Instead of getting
the wrong ones from mapquest).

Nevertheless, I actually somehow had fun there (not speaking of
Racing City, that track rocks!)

If you guys are going to make the trip and stay over, you might as well race in Rensselaer on Sunday (you'd be 1/3 of the way home and we'd done by 5:00 PM. Similar 36 x 60 layout, same fanfare carpet. We'd love to have ya. Practice starts at 10:00 AM Racing at 11:15.

Not sure who weewee is gunnin' at - but I didn't know that being second in front of the leader was defined as being lapped. I know firsthand that the leader didn't have a problem being raced to maintain lead lap status, so why do you? Next time you decide to play the role of "Racing city Reporter", do everyone a favor and get your facts straight. As far as crappy driving goes - What main were you in?

Shadow-D
02-26-2004, 02:02 PM
I have made my decision as to what I plan to do.
After taking some time off I realized I miss the racing so I plan to start racing again. I am thinking about running 19T this weekend if my motor gets here in time. Lets get the 19T class up and running on a regular basis up here.

See ya all at the track

Cool

Regular e-mail is great for this stuff.

Wade layed the smack down in stock this week and proved something . You don't need the latest and greatest chassis to break track records. Wade brought out an old style G-FORCE and proceded to tear the track up, Congrat's Wade!!!
