View Full Version : A.J.'s Raceway Fall/Winter series
Curt12 11-19-2004, 02:40 PM AJ, I think all we need is four or five guys. He is running six in the late model class.
I'll run 19-0. The only problem I'm going to have for the next race is, I have to be at the wifes christmas work party at 5:30pm about an hour away.
Still talking with people and generating some interest for the 4th. I would expect about 10 or 12 from our group.
Looking forward to a good day of racing.
AJ

Thanks Charlie & AJ for you're help in 19T-O.
See Ya at the next race.
Curt, sorry you couldn't stay for the main. Had a good time and am looking forward to the next round. Maybe I'll have my car better, 1st run was good and just could never get a handle on the track. Oh well.
Later,
AJ
Schumacher KGB 01-03-2005, 07:37 PM Just a reminder, this saturday is the next leg of the Heartland Oval Series.

AJ
Curt12 01-03-2005, 07:57 PM AJ
Are you going to run 19-0?
I know that at least 3 of us are planning on it, probably more. That track is made for them.
See you then.

Schumacher KGB 01-04-2005, 11:41 AM I'm all in. What time do the doors open.
AJ normally opens at 9:00am on Saturdays but i believe he opens at 8:00am for the oval races.
Curt12 01-04-2005, 01:12 PM Why you are correct Shane open 8:00am.
Hey Shane do you know if AJ will be open late friday night for practice or will he close at 6:00?
jarhead 01-04-2005, 05:44 PM Hays, Corey, and TJ, you guys will all run 19 open correct? Not the 0 degree?
Jeff R.
hefty12 01-04-2005, 06:10 PM I'm sure we are planning on 19 open.
burbs 01-04-2005, 06:11 PM i would imagine they will run open.. as none of them have run zero degree, and i doubt they plan on it...they always ran open when they went before
S Brown 01-04-2005, 06:41 PM 19T open or if we have enough Open Mod for me
MK Race 01-09-2005, 11:13 PM Well another great day of racing on the big track.
Once again Phil was lost in the dark. Wait, we were all in the dark when the power went out.
Congrats to Scott for the win in stock. That a good clean A-main.
AJS- picked up an extra car this weekend, so I will be running 19-0 with you guys next time.
Curt12 01-10-2005, 10:49 AM Just wanted to thank everyone again for coming out sat. It was a day with clean qualifying & great racing.
I will post results tonight.
Thanks AJ, Charlie, Phil, & Mark for all the help with the 19 -0. That class is a blast.
Curt
Even though my car was very slow, I had a great time racing with everyone this weekend. Good Clean Racing in all the classes. Most of the mains were very competitive and mostly clean.
I can't make it to the February 12 race, I'll be in sunny Florida.
Mike bring that 19-0 car over to Vinton for the 2-day race it should be a very competitive and big field.
Hays, I really need to know what you are paying Sully.
Mike, if you are going to the region 8 race in March, we are planning on running it as an exhibition class in Omaha. Good carpet, great place and a really good place to run 19-0.
I'm registering for it and I know several others that are going to as well, I'm sure there will be enough for a class.
AJ
haysreeling 01-10-2005, 02:51 PM AJ no payment is needed he just does it, ITS BILL...hahahaha, but it was too bad for corey cuz he was absolutely flying.
Hays JR
MK Race 01-10-2005, 06:34 PM AJ, after being around Phil another 24 hours, I have to go up there to Iowa, I mean Nebraska, to see if they are all like that. I am planning on going and running the 19-0 class too.
Florida??? Don't you watch the news? They have sharks, hurricanes, and big waves around the ocean. BE CAREFUL!!!
Yes they have a few of those bad things, but they don't have 10 inches of snow and below 0 temps, and they do have Daytona and the Snowbirds, I'm not competing in either, but I will be watching.
Phil is Race crazy, I think it's an addiction.
See you later,
AJ

The stock A main was awsome! Terry got the jump & was streching it out but Scott realed him in & got around him about the one min mark. Mike then cought Terry but stayed on his bumper waiting for the right moment. Phil was running by himself between the two but Mark & Corry swaped spots several times.
At the end Scott checked out, Terry& Mike caught Mark & Corry on the last lap at the finish line! all four cars crossed the line very close to the same time WOW!!!!
The brushless class was close at first Craig gave AJ a run for his money but AJ had the old Disrupter dialed in and it was a done deal.
19T A main Corry got the jump, & pulled away from the feid but around halfway or the 3 min mark he had a problem, TJ & Hays got by him. Hays made the move on TJ & held him off for the win.
19-0 A main From what I can remember Phil got the hole shot & checked out 2nd thru 4th changed manny times. I made my way up to 2nd somehow but Craig & Charlie caught me & I was holding them up, Craig got around then Charlie & I got together he got the worse end of the deal. It was kinda crazy all possitions changed more than once except for the man Phil.
I hope everyone had as much fun as I did, see at the next one!! Curt
philb1 01-11-2005, 07:25 AM Thanks for the race report Curt! Glad you got to stay for the whole program this time, missed a lot of guys from the last race, should be a even better turnout next time!!
skutor21 01-11-2005, 03:27 PM Hey Curt,
Got your message Monday morning. Obviously I did not make the race. The little brother got married (again) in Kentucky. I'll try to get there on the 12th though. Got another commitment I got to get out of first. I'll probably run at Scotty's the 29th if your interested. Ran Dubuque on New Years too, good time, didn't run very well though.
And don't let that Phil guy give you any crap. I think he ran like 12 classes in Dubuque. Didn't have any time to help a guy out.
Scott
MK Race 02-03-2005, 01:23 AM Hey TJ, are you guys going to the Birds?
What about you Scott?

MK Race 02-13-2005, 10:46 AM Great job to the AJ crew for putting on the series.
I don't know how many total 4-cell stock they had for the series, but we had 23 for the last leg of the series.
Congrats to Terry the overall Champ and another win yesterday. Congrats to Mark Steiner for finishing 2nd in the points too.
See some of you in Omaha.

Curt12 02-15-2005, 02:46 PM Congrats to all the winners on sat. & all the series champs. Saturday was another great race. Terry W. had the field covered again in stock, 48 laps has got to be a record!! Jeff R. & Butch had good runs in 19T All the heats had lots of close racing.
I want to thank AJ for letting me run his late model, that class is a riot. He will be running the class this summer sat nights under the lights.
Also just want to thank all the racers that made the series through out the four races. See Ya next year!!
Curt
rcavenger 02-16-2005, 09:47 AM actually, what is the record? i know that i ran a 48 lapper last time in the main...should come down to the time! nice run, Terry!
MK Race 02-16-2005, 02:18 PM Hey Scott, I think Terry's was a 4:03 something.
Curt12 02-16-2005, 05:32 PM Sorry Scott my bad, you ran a 48/4:04.50 on Jan 8th vs Terrys 48/4:05.06 Feb 12th. I don't remember any 48 lap runs for 4 cell stock untill this year. I can check with AJ to be positive but I think you have it. Scott did you go to the snowbirds? If so how did you do?
Curt
rcavenger 02-16-2005, 08:14 PM whew...4:04.5 vs. 4:05.06, now thats close! Mike, did Terry run a 48 in qualifying, or just in the main? No Curt, I didn't go...I wasn't exactly thrilled w/ how the track was and how the race was run last year. Basically, you got thrown in any ol' heat w/ a bunch of hacks for the first 2 qualifiers if you didnt run i nthe top 20 the year before, then for the 3rd round resort, we got to race on the roughest track i had ever seen! everyone was 1-1/2 lap slower on the 3rd round, which was the only clean run alot of people got. It looks like they fixed the rough track problem this year, based on the times posted, but they still go the 1st 2 qualifiers w/o resorting. I have no idea why. I was going to go to the Nats instead, but i have a work related conference in Nashville the week of the nats....:(
Anyone coming down to the Winter Burnout race in Springfeild on Feb. 26th?
CKappler 02-16-2005, 11:45 PM I had a great time racing this year. I just wish there was more of it.
Hey Curt, any chance of posting the final points standings? You know...who finished where. Or if your fingers get too tired from the typing, how about the top ten in each class?
Cory
MK Race 02-17-2005, 01:44 AM Scott- no Terry didn't run a 48 in qualifying, just the main.
Looks like about 4-5 of us from Pontoon are going to Allen's race.
Curt12 02-17-2005, 12:37 PM Cory, I'll see what I can do.
