View Full Version : U.S. Concrete Oval Championships
amusicwiz 08-09-2004, 07:03 PM Josh: We race every Saturday night beginning at about 5:00pm. 3 to 1 is a pretty good gear ratio to start with stock (120/40). The BSRs will be handout tires. Everyone in those handout tire classes will run the same tires. Tires will be handed out at registration and additional tire supply will be available at track. Hope you can make it down to run with us.

amusicwiz 08-12-2004, 04:09 PM Josh: 1 set of tires and 1 handout motor is included in registration fee. Extra handout stock motors will be $20.00. (handout motors will be supplied without brushes) Extra tire sets will be $64.00 Extra right fronts (which is probably the only one you'll need to replace) will be $16.00 each. Think you'll enjoy the racing down here!

amusicwiz 09-03-2004, 10:29 AM Well "Frances" should give the track a good cleaning this weekend. The hurricane looks like a strong "rain" event at this point.
Fl Flash 09-11-2004, 07:13 PM How the track hold up? Did you finalize the handout tire compounds? Really Really Really looking forward to this race  Hope we get thru this weather stuff so I can get down there and do some practice :)
Ant word on the possibility of a Nastruck class and possibly a novice type class for my son and other youngsters?
See Ya! Lee Helander
Velocity R/C
amusicwiz 09-11-2004, 11:35 PM Lee: We were incredibly lucky with "Frances." No damage. All the storm did was give the track and infield a real good cleaning. Even our plastic "catch-fencing" stayed in place.
Look forward to having you and any of your other FLorida racxing buds to come on down to race with us. It should be a great event.

amusicwiz 09-27-2004, 01:49 PM Wow! For the first time in over two months we don't have a "tropical" weather system headed for the state of Florida. The weather looks really good for next week's event.
Right now we know we'll have racers from Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
The list of area hotels is featured on our website as part of our event brochure.
Come on down, it's gonna be a super race!
Fl Flash 09-27-2004, 02:38 PM Glad ya made it thru the storms, We,ll see ya next week

98Ron 09-28-2004, 04:57 PM Bob, trap stayed in place, did get some additional water damage, wet ceilings. But lost another 25% of the shingles. My wife and I spent some qulaity time on the roof yesterday putting up more tarps.

Racing Saturday and Sunday morning!
Race on!
BarryG 10-08-2004, 05:59 PM What's kind of handout motor are you using for stock?
amusicwiz 10-08-2004, 11:56 PM The handout stock motors are Monster Stock motors. 19-Turns are Bulit Motorsports.
And based on todays practice sessions both of the motors are really fast!
Gonna be pushing the track records all weekend.
amusicwiz 10-11-2004, 07:57 AM The 2004 US Concrete Oval R/C Championships isd now in the books! Weather was wonderful all weekend (as well as the days leading up to the event). Competition was fierce.
Four qualifiers on Saturday and Mains on Sunday all came off without a hitch and drivers just got faster and faster! The track temperatures were just a little too high for record breaking runs but the edge was pushed in every class.
Results will be posted later today on our website.
Thanks to our event sponsors: Bulit Motorsports, John's BSR Tires, Kimbrough Products and Team Associated! Every R/C Racer should support these vendors! They support our hobby!
The BSR tires were consistant and allowed for great racing. The handout motors from Bulit Motorsports (19-Turn and Stock) were very fast and totally consistant. Thanks Bill & John!
Plan now to attend next year's event October 8 & 9, 2005

kaleidoscopem 01-30-2005, 05:53 PM Do you guys run 19 turn? If so, is the Ultra Bird a good one for there....how about stock....is a Green Machine good for there?.....oh, and also what are your battery limitations with all the new ones comin out? Thanks.
kaleidoscopem 02-04-2005, 11:31 AM IN addition to the motor question, I was also wondering what your track allows/is going to be allowing for batteries. Are you going to stick with the 3300s through most the year or are you going to allow 3600s. If so, when...and when do you guys run? Ill be there starting on Feb. 21. Thank you!!!
kaleidoscopem 03-05-2005, 12:23 PM Im still trying to get some information on this track. It almost seems as if its to be kept a secret...hehe... Im down in miami now, and lookin to go check it out. I have no idea where this thing is at, and there is no address or anything on the web site, nor is there a contact phone number that I can find. If anyone has any information as far as where they are located (address), contact phone number, and what is allowed to be run there...(motors. batteries, etc.) please let me know asap. Thanks alot!!! If you got pics by chance, that would be cool too. you could e-mail those to me at kaleidoscopem@hotmail.com Thanks Alot.
