I have done alot of business here and on rc tech. I should have done a little more checking before i did the transaction. But all in all I have had no other problems. I always check feedback before I do anything now.

The Brath brothers have been doin stuff like this for a while, why nothings been done to them or whatever is beyond me, but there pretty much the main point of the problem when it comes to trolling, theyve done it so much its ridiculous

Jeeze, Guys; I just took a quick look through *this* forum. The most posts under any other name was around fifty, and those were both GOOD traders. this thread has over 100 posts; and I found at least four separate threads dealing with this guy, under several different names. It's enough to make me want to create a pseudoname, buy something from him, just so I can start legal action. This is rediculous. All by himself, he is making good people reluctant to deal on this forum, and several others.

The thing I can't figure out is that the forum moderators on all forums have to know who the guy is, when he starts up under a different name. Since he's a constant source of problems, why do they allow him to operate? I don't know a lot about how the system works, but it seems thats the best way to cut him off. Unforntunatly, if they ignore it, then individuals have to file complaints with the local police, and folow through with the complaint. also the barths are from indiana, so in 99% of the cases, indianan law would be the deciding factor.

In Ohio, where I am from, use of a public utuility to do this sort of thing bears more teeth on the perpitraitor than if he came to my home and bothere me.

IE...he can drop buy everyday to bug me and be told "don't come back" and each time he returns it is still a mintimeanor...ut if he uses the internet, tellephone or other electronic means, the 2nd REPORTED OFFENCE moves up to a class d phelloney...(spelling)...this is all just for the bother of theire presence...then comes the fraud and laws governing that..which I have no clue on....but there aree sites, like andersons, that will help you search out statues...which I would begin to look under Indiana laws...then back track to where hobbytalks servor is...and so on......bear in mind, if you know the law, in Indiana and present it to an official there,, in a format like...."hey this indiavidual in you jusristiction has been doinf such and such to me and my friend for years, I loked into it, ans under Indiana statute blah, blah, sub section "SO SO:...it says that this is a such and such crime.....basicly..do some of he leg work for the cop...he gets paid the same weather he does a mountain of paper work on some kid he views as "miss guided" ...to get the kid busted...same as if he sits in the station watching andy griffith re-runs and eating jelly donuts.
often the cop might not even be aware of a law being broken...or if he care do anything....find out what applies, and start making official cmplaints and save the case number(s) attached to the complaint(s) buy the indianana cops...after so many cases the cops will have to do something in case you complain to the district attourny...they would have a thick file buy now had this been done from the start.....not to point fingers...just a hind sight there.

I had problems with a couple of my inlaws acting the fool each time they came around...fortunatly, my wife felt the same so I had no resistance to these proceedures from with in my own home...now...I live in blissfull peace, as they palyed into it at first and ignore the warning, and sent nasty emails, which I gave to my local police, (copies, saved the orrigionals) ...now they have been informed that I dismissed the first charges under the conditions that thought they were only reminde by the police of their crime...next time they so much as call or write to say hello..it a jailable offence....thank you all you lawyers.....the system does work...it just requires a lot of effort.

I did all this on my own with a little advice from a local cop who kept me pointing in the right direction...see the local chief of police wanted ntohing to do with it...so the cop told me where to find the statutes that compelled the chief to do his job.....you can do the same....start with gooogle or Yahoo.....tresspass is what you need to search under for them comming back under new names...and basicly just refusing to leave...I know it sounds odd, but that is the main statute you need to search......then criminal law would probably be fraud or theat..but with internet involvement....yikes...that is a uge library to search through...start simple with the cival stuff....my 2 cents.

Show up at there place or at the track with a cop and all the print outs with names phone numbers and what is owed in yours or the cops hands and then youll really see sh** hit the fan when the parents check book goes balance goes WAY down

I did so to satify my suspicions only...as of right now I had to temporarily close BRC due to health and other problems. but when I do reo-open I will keep all in mind.
Basicly, I made the offer to him to see if he was for real with that much hard luck..or a scammer...the scammer part floated to the top..as suspected.

Trades can be blamed on any number of things....but a deal that requires his cash up front..even at a major discount..still requires him to cough up some dough!
Something a scammer very seldom is willing or able to do..LOL!

Well, I am one of the lucky ones that got ripped off by Tim Barth. I purchased a batch of motors and an ESC from him on RCTech. I paid the $110 faithfully, and he shipped me 4 motors that were all crap and a cheap ESC - none of it matched the description of what I was purchasing. Last message from him (over a month ago) was that he was going to finally ship me all of the stuff that I did not receive - nothing yet.

If anyone has suggestions on how to escalate this with:
- local police (I think that Tim is from Indiana - anybody know his current address?)
- FBI - I saw this thread and was wondering if anyone has had luck in reporting this to the FBI (http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthr...30&pagenumber=2)
- other suggestions?

doesnt matter, if you have the day, and time of the email, they can track who was on that usually even if it is dynamic.
