Hey Glenn, give me a call or stop a the track tonight. I have a box for you.

Mel, Walter and I will be there from about 1pm on. We shouldn't need to bring tables any more. All you'll need is a comfortable chair and a power cord.

DynoMoHum
10-09-2003, 04:14 PM
Ok... I'm going to try and come up tonight...

If I don't come up tonight... I'll be there as early as possible tomorrow... Your saying you planning on opening around 1PM tomorrow?

On the weekend for the regional, we will have the track open Thursday night, 4pm to 10pm, for practice.

Friday we will have practice all day, (9am to 6pm). We will be running a club race Friday night,( 7pm on) 2 heats and a main. Saturday qualifiers will be run, track opens at 9am. And Sunday mains will be run, track opens at 9am.

There are 2 hotels in the area, Amerihost Inn and the Sleep Inn, both in Dewitt, MI. I am working on a race weekend rate. I will let everyone know the first of next week.

As for the 19T class, we run what ROAR specifies for the class.

Getting pumped for this weekend. Three days of racing, should be fun!

Jay I'm not 100%sure but I think the fastest 19t run this season was a couple of weeks ago by Mike Ulbrik at 56 4:01.

I think stock last Saturday for the warm up was 51 or 52 in 4:02 for TQ .... I know I was at the top of the B with 49 4:01.01 and I missed the A by that .01 ......

I'm pretty sure that Rotten Hanson Kid did 57 laps in the main once this year. But the way the computer is set up, your first lap in the main is almost free, because it counts as soon as you cross the line (maybe 1 second). Nick is planning to change this for this weekend, so the main results will be similar to the heats.

Greg Anthony
10-15-2003, 10:46 PM
Kevin, are you going to go "slow and turn left" this weekend?

kevinm
10-16-2003, 06:35 PM
Kevin, are you going to go "slow and turn left" this weekend?

Hopefully, this will only describe the Legends car (slow seems faster with genetically bad-handling cars). I'm running 19-turn in pan car, which had BETTER NOT be slow. But no "restrictor plate" class for me. At least not until after the lobotomy! If I ever DO sign up for 4-cell stock, check my basement for alien pods.

I had a great time at my first oval event.
That wheel stand all the way down the back stretch going the wrong by one of the mod guys sure was cool.

Nick, How many track records were broken this weekend?

Nick, How many track records were broken this weekend?
I think all of them were. With the new ice, it made the track a tad bit shorter (8' ??)

NTwigs
10-20-2003, 04:15 PM
Yep you are correct Dave. Chris Ulbrik set a new track record in 4C stock at 52/4:01, Jamie Hanson in 4C 19T 59/4:03, and Frank Ulbrik in 4C modified with 63/4:01.

Oh BTW- Kevin Marcy set Legends track record I think with a 55/5:01.

Greg Anthony
10-20-2003, 04:35 PM
Nick, Are those the Qualifying Records???? I know because of the first lap time noone got those times in the Main

NTwigs
10-20-2003, 07:20 PM
Yes, Greg, those are qualifing records.

kevinm
10-20-2003, 08:10 PM
Nick - Dougie and I both got 57 laps in Legends on friday night. Not sure which time was fastest.

Greg Anthony
10-20-2003, 09:21 PM
Do you have the Race records?

NTwigs
10-30-2003, 03:54 PM
Geez, are all of you guys hiding out or what??

Just a reminder, we will be racing this Friday (Halloween), with the usual program. Also, there will be NO Oval racing next Friday, due to the On-road Regional. Hope to see you guys Friday.

So... Nick... are we required to wear costumes?

How about if I come dressed as Jake?

Nah.. that'd be too scary... :)

I'll be there...

NTwigs
10-30-2003, 04:04 PM
Yeah, Glenn, you need to dress up like your favorite r/c racer. LOL

I think I'm dressing up like Zubie!!! What a SCARY sight!!!!

As for dressing up like Jake, I think you'd need a little more padding to look like him. I hear Jake is thinking about dressing up like Casey! :freak:

kingpin
10-30-2003, 05:03 PM
Glenn has been impersonating an RC racer for a long time, he might as well dress up like one

No one should be allowed to dress up like Casey, two of them would be too much for the world to take.

How about I dress up like a guy who broke his car in turn two and went home with his tail between his legs. Oh! that would be too easy, I have the pic that Jake took and the clothes should be out of the wash by now. :(

rowle1jt
10-30-2003, 11:55 PM
Sorry.... but NONE of you have the class to pull off dressing up as me. And I sold all my pink tutu's...so I won't be dressing up as Casey.

I think I will dress up like a jerk, that won't be too hard.....

George, are you coming down?

Jamie Hanson
10-31-2003, 12:02 AM
Can I dress as one of the three wise men?

mel
10-31-2003, 06:16 AM
Hey Jake I don't have a pink tutu but I do have a BIG old blue tarp you can use. Now that would be a sight on fright night.
Jamie You have a few years to go before you can be one of the wisemen. How about a Rotten Little Hanson Kid Club? You can be the PREZ and Jake can be the one you hide behind when the heat is on.
George needs to hang a bunch of legend bodies all over him then he can really be THE LEGEND KING.
Nick would look good as the JOKER from Batman. A little makeup and WA LA!
Now for me. Alot of you think I am a midgit already so I will come as I am. I will be there.

kingpin
10-31-2003, 07:46 AM
Jake, Nope, I won't be coming tonight. Going down below to a funeral this afternoon. I am at that age where attending funerals is a common occurrence.

Mel, Legend king in my dreams, maybe someday, after Marcy's funeral. I will have to settle for being the Legend Used Car King.
Got three more in yesterday, Anyone need one??

Jamie, Do you really want to join the wise men? Might be a step back

Atleast they quite driving last decades oval cars......

I think Nick should dress up as a pear farmer, and Walter can be his bit...err I mean Hired hand. :D

DynoMoHum
10-31-2003, 12:52 PM
Well... I'll do the RC racer bit...

It gets me out of work early anyway...

Maybe my new motors will allow me to go a bit faster tonight as I impersinate the RC racer...

Mel,

Tell the other two wise men, and this goes for everyone else, that Summit Raceway in Fort Wayne is having a trophy race on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I know some of the fast guys from Indy are coming up THIS weekend to race sat night and I know they will be there on Thanksgiving for the trophy race. For those of you that don;t know the track is straight down I-69 about 1 hour 45 mins form Lansing. If you need more info e-mail me at bjanth72@hotmail.com.

Hey, it's been a few weeks since anyone been on the thread, so I thought it would help to bring it back to the top.

Last week, we had 40 entries, 10 heats! Great job guys!! We will be open the Friday after Thanksgiving for Oval racing. Track will open at 3pm.

Also, we will be running this Friday. Our US Indoor Champs warm-up won't start until Saturday.

See everyone on Friday!!!

Nick

Man I just asked those questions over on the US Indoor Champs thread...

So... with Mt. Pleasant this weekend, I assume the lansing crowd will be small this week... But can anyone confirm or deny they will be there this week. At this point my plan is to come to Lansing on Friday, unless the weather is bad, in which case I have to drive my wife to work, and can't come to Lansing... If the weather isn't bad... I figure I'll come up and get some practice in and hope there will be enough people who want to run 19 turn to make a race...

If the weather is bad on Friday, I've been given the OK to go to Mt. Pleasnt on Saturday... so that's my back up plan.

Then how about Friday after Thanksgiving? I'm really hoping to come to lansing that day too... Will there be a big crowd? Who's comming? who'll have other commitments that prevent them from comming?

Frank Ulbrik
11-18-2003, 11:06 AM
I don't think the turnout will be to great this weekend, the norcca nats are in akron oh. Im pretty sure 10 or so racers from lansing are going to be in Oh. all weekend. Isn't lansing doing roadcourse all this weekend anyway?? Next weekend should be better. I know 5 or so that want to race next weekend.

See Nick, even Frankie thinks we should be onroad racing this weekend!!!! See you Friday????

Frank Ulbrik

Why wouldn't you guys be getting ready for cleveland??? especially since 80% of the oval guys will be in Oh.

I beleive that Friday night more or less is a 'club' race night. Oval goes on pretty much undisturbed on Friday nights, so the locals have a place to run.

My understandig is that the road course guys have Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to run... that seems like plenty of time to practice...

I actualy pruposely wanted to go to Lansing this Friday to run Oval, because there won't be many people... I need some track time, and it will be perfect opertunity for me.

Frank Ulbrik
11-18-2003, 01:13 PM

I'm planning on being there this Friday... about the only thing that would stop me now is a snow storm or other really bad weather.

BTW Nick.... Tower is listing the Competition 2 ESC as 'in stock' now, does that mean you should get some in before friday???? (I hope so)... I got cash burning a hole in my pocket, and am in need of a new ESC...
