I'm not much of a rug fan either but as long as it's racing, I don't care. It beats trying to race in 30 deg weather in the wind in February. I think it will attract more racers as we will have oval and on road. The straights will be around 60 ft with a 12 foot infield and 12 ft lanes. That is, if this all goes through. The carpet will cost around 1500 bucks! We won't be giving up on the concrete we are just trying to race all year comfortably.

Carpet? Sweet! Looks like I'll be redy to start racing ina few weeks after some practice. If I can help with the carpet track, lemme know. I've got some free time and skills on my hands!

In about six months, I should be ready for a last place finish or two with you guys. :-) Seriously, big fun. Look forward to getting a car, practicing and running some laps. Thanks again for your hospitality.

Just saw the standings. One point. Sammy must be thinking about his car going over the wall in the last turn a whole bunch. Maybe if Donnie could say F@!#!$ and SH$%#, Sammy would have enough point. :-) Maybe not. Congrats to Donnie and Chris.

lol it was fun me and Sammy talked about it this morning it is fun being that close. have to watch the mouth when its that close dont want any points taken away lol. points was real close in both classes this year.

Wow! What a points race indeed. Donnie had to pull off a TQ and win to take the championship and he did, but it didn't come easy. Sammy had TQ for most of the day and they dogged each other the rest of the day. I think if Sammy had not bobbled in turn 4 it would have been much closer. Great Racing guys, I am looking forward to next years points already!

Well negotiations continue on the new 6,600 sq foot carpet racing facility. It looks as if everything goes well we will be up and running strong by Jan 1 05. We are really sticking our necks out here so we hope that everyone who supported the concrete all summer will come indoors and race on the rug. A couple of things: Only TQ traction compound will be allowed. Only BSR Spec tires will be allowed in all oval classes. There will be a minimum ride height of 1/8th inch, we will really be watching for stuff on the bottom of the chassis that may drag the carpet.

Not only will there be an oval track, we will also be setting up for road course racing. The area we are putting the track in is 40'X80' so I am guessing we will have around 160' of runline on the oval. I don't know what the road course length will be yet. There is plenty of room to pit and plenty of power. We will provide some tables (first come first served) some of you that already have tables might consider bringing your own. For those of you that smoke "Sorry" there will be no smoking inside the building for now. Please ask all of your questions here or feel free to call me @ 478 256 2032.

[QUOTE=Echeconnee] Only TQ traction compound will be allowed. Only BSR Spec tires will be allowed in all oval classes.

ok hold on a second..you are going to have a indoor carpet track?

you wont allow any other sauce but TQ junk?

and you want support but you are asking the guys from out of town to buy a new can of tire traction we would only ever use there?

and buy new tires that we would only ever run there?

i'm just wanting to get the rules straight....is that correct?

what classes will you allow? open mod? 19 turn? what would be the 19 t rules? what motors are legal? help a brother out,lol........

Echeconnee
11-15-2004, 08:49 PM
No Cat, you got it all wrong, we will run 19t but only one pole can be 19, the other 2 will have to be different and you must run one standup and one laydown brush, you can run a bearing in the can but you must run a bushing in the endbell, oh yea, and the stand up brush has to be a spec brush. lol

Seriously as far as traction compound goes we will probably allow anything but paragon. I hate to exclude a product as it does not seem fair but my allergies just will not take it, keeps me from the Snow birds and I really enjoyed the race when it was in Tampa on caps. We went down to watch last year and I had to leave because of that stuff. I know a lot of other folks don't like it either. I know it works real good but thems the brakes. As far as any of that other stuff goes, nothing is set in stone. I am just tossing stuff out there to see what happens. I don't want the tire thing to get out of hand because we all know racing on foams even on carpet, can get expensive and the spec tires are really cheap. Who says you wouldn't need different tires when you showed up anyway? I have seen folks run 4 different compounds on the same car at the same time to get that little extra tick of speed. This is purely my opinion but I think if you can set up a chassis and you don't suck as a driver anyone can do well on spec foams. Also, the spec tire rule may only apply to the break out and possibly the stock class, I will just have to see. There is no question that 19t would be free to run whatever tire they want to because they are already committed to spending a lot of money to race and the speed would probably be too much for the spec foam. I am not sure the deal will go through anyway as the folks that have this warehouse space are pretty proud of it and we don't have a huge base of drivers to support it. For what they want for rent I can build a new building on property that I already own and fix it just the way we racers like it (SNOWBIRDS SIZE) without compromise. And best of all I will be paying my own mortgage, not someone elses. Regardless, it's not looking good for this year anyway. Another thought too was to put down a tennis court type surface inside, still foam tire racing but without the carpet and TQ8 IS the best on asphalt. If you don't think so, come to race rock and see for yourself. I sure made a believer out of Phillip Owen, lol See ya racin!

damn i was hoping for another carpet track. i dont care what the rules are i just wanted to know for sure what they were. and i hate paragon myself and yes the snowbirds is out of hand with that crap!

not sure about the tire thing..on carpet foams last a long time.

indoor asphault racing is another great option..no worries about carpet tears and the carpet getting worn. i'll see you at the rock! oh and i think some tracks like different brands of tire sauce. the orange smell from tq is nice in the pits as well, lol. cya

We will be racing the first and second Sunday this month. Trophys for the points series will be awarded at the second Sunday race.I posted the extra race guys, sorry you didn't see it. We will be racing on the 12th as well. This will be the last race of the season. The 05 season will start in April, dates to come. Next year's points schedule and rules will be outlined on the website www.echeconneesuperspeedway.tk (http://www.echeconneesuperspeedway.tk/)

The Southern 500 Nationals will also be run on Memorial weekend again this year. Right now classes look like Open Stock, 19t, 6.5 break-out and (this one's for you Kevin) NASTRUCK Stock. Depending on how many people show up with Brushless motors we may have an open stock brushless class as well, It will take 10 to make a class. We will also run the 100 lap enduro again this year. It will go the same as last year with maybe a twist or two. You will have to enter a free drawing to be picked to run in this race, only 10 will run.

Heats will be 5 minutes in all classes.
A mains will be triple, all others will be single
ARCOR rules will apply Membership not required
Entry fee will be $30.00 for 1st class and $10 for each additional class if done by pre entry. Otherwise entry will be 40 and 20 at the track. The reason for this is we would like to provide the best awards possible and it's important to know how many people are going to be there so we have enough.

If you have questions or suggestions about this race, now is the time to do it.
