I just wanted to leave a note saying I had fun yesterday. I didn't drive very well and I didn't win anything but I DID have fun. I'd still like to see the turnout double or triple in size. The cars that were there seemed to be fairly equal and there appeared to be good races all the way around. FUN - that's the way it should be!

Public apologies to Tom Etters. I drove right into his rear spolier while entering a turn and messed us both up. Alright - I'm a dolt.

John - Looks like the "other" board that you frequent is shutting down on December 26. I guess there's been too much trash talking and headaches for the moderators. They say they're pulling the plug. Too bad. You know what a few rotten apples can do .....

Thanks again for the fun at The Raceway!

Kevin

What happened to 1/12 scale? I finally get hooked up and it's gone!
Maybe try spec in 1/12th?

Panman,
You were probably on a 61 lap pace and subconsciencly had to go back to normal(59).

John, feel free to correct my spelling.

Glitch, it's subsequently, but thanks for thinking of me at the holidays. You obviously know how much I hate run-ons and bad grammar .......
For those who only read the oval thread: Sam & I want to wish you (& yours) a safe and happy holiday! John @ RJ

PanMan

Gitcher - you're right. I think John said I was on a 60 - 4 flat pace at that time, so I ran into Tom to slow the thing down. Get me out of my 59 lap element and I'm lost.

I don't know what happened to 1/12th scale. Seems like the cars evaporated. Spec 1/12th sounds interesting. I don't own a 1/12th car (and no, John, I don't wnat to buy one) so I'll just watch. Would be good racing.

Just got a Fantom dyno yesterday (merry Christmas to ME!) and I've tested all of my motors. Although we have all thought this, I can now say with conviction that all of my motors are JUNK! Now I know why I only get 59's. And some of you were beginning to think it was my driving! Shame on you!

So now I've spent hundreds on a dyno to tell me that my race motors are good for comm lathes and tire truing machines. Maybe I should have spent the money on new motors! Oh well, ..... onward and upward!

Kevin

Hey Kevin, now you can use those motors for your comm lathe! Really, though, you can use that to bring some of them "back from the dead" . Hopefully, when you come on the 4th, you'll be announced on a 61 , 4:00 pace! Mike Obrien LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See you then, and pleeze don't spin the dyno after your wife goes to bed!!! :jest: JOHN.

it's tru...the kid is back...haven't been on for a while......after the surgery i couldn't remember what the web site was....
I am glad to be back at the raceway... can't get enough of hearing alan harp about his "57"....yippy to him  ......he is a handful alright.......

anyway after the "wreck in turn 2" from "urs truly........the meat stick"....more of the chrome jeffy is on the track rather than on the body.....but i guess things like this happen.....johnny will take care of me.....hopefully.....even though i DID go to wheeling...but that won't happen again.....especially after the new and improved "Chromy"

See you all at the track on sunday.....hopefully i will be able to give o' brien the smallest bit of competition.......he is too hooked up... damn sponsored dirvers.. anyway hope everyone had Happy Holidays.........

P.S. Thanks for the Dradle John.

Hack - too bad about your wreck in 2. The way your car was running in the heats, you were da' man to beat! You have that thing running awesome! Good job!

It was good seeing you and your uncle again on Sunday. I also saw your dad, but didn't get to talk to him too much.

I'll be there this Sunday. Remember - I'll give you the inside when you're lapping me.

Revin' Kevin

12-27-2003, 12:46 AM
wow....i don't know all about the Revin'.....your cars don't look too bad themselves...u are the Mr. Consistency of River Junction....i am just ahppy that i can finally run with u guys. it has taken me a while now, but after some hard years of slamming into the walls...i think i have calmed down a little.....
awesome that you are comming back again on sunday...i love hearing snookie talk about how we can all race together..it never gets old.......he is a funny character all right....anyway i will see you on sunday

hackGordon24
12-29-2003, 02:29 PM
Ladies and Gentleman, Mr. Consistency is bak..even though revin' didn't pull out the W he still was runngin pretty strong. santa did pretty well with the dyno. ur cars always look so smooth goin down the track..

Snookie was robbed in the A  ..even though i pulled the win out.....he was truckiung for me.....if he had better luck then he would have killed me...his car is just tooo fast..... he probably had that revin' guy do all his motors  ...they are ganging up on me...ha....all these speed secrets, maybe one day i will be on the inside.

John, the body looks awesome.....the mettalic gray is a really neat color....though the body looks good, it doens't compare to "The Dew", i don't think u will ever surpass the jeffy.

Hack - you're being too kind with your words. I had the lead in the A and absolutely BLEW IT! I threw away the win with two hits in turn 2. The "consistency" is beginning to run out.

Terrific job on the other A main! You're too humble. I don't know if Snookie would have caught you or not, but your car was dialed and you drove extremely well. A new track record in a six car race ain't too bad, my friend. Ya did good, kid! Smooth driving!

I had fun on Sunday. Didn't win anything but that's not the only reason to race. Having fun is the most important thing. I about laughed my arse off when you made the comment about me being "under 70". You're quick, dude!

Thanks to all the Raceway gang for a fun time. I'll be there this Sunday!

PanMan-59?

PanMan
12-30-2003, 08:09 PM
glitcher - "PanMan-59?" - That's funny stuff! You made me laugh out loud!

No, actually you've missed my two 60 lap runs - one last week and in the A main this week. As I mentioned earlier, I had the lead and was on a solid 61 lap run past halfway (according to "Mary" and John) when I decided to decrease the radius in Turn 2. Mind you, the BARRIER didn't move, I just decided to cut the turn more sharply for a couple of laps. The resulting two loud cracks in the pipe cost me the win and a 61. The car can now do more than 59. I have to get my hands and eyes to cooperate. Even with the hits, I finished the main with 60 in second place. I'm OK with that - still had fun!

When are you coming back to oval?

Kevin

Well, the only way to solve that is to get as much discussion HERE as roadcourse has................... Perhaps we can REMIND people(frank p) that there ALREADY IS a flat oval for Sunday racing, with it's own warm pits, bathrooms trackside, PIZZA at 4:30PM, and great competition in 4 cell stk, and SPEC classes. I will concede that one must also use stairs to get to it, but WE have a stairglider chair which can haul the stuff to the 2nd floor for you. See you soon, John @ RJ

Mike
You missed a good one down at Sandhills. Stock had 27 entries.

I talked to Wayne via email, I'd like to make it over to Beaver to race soon. Joel Biro and Rick Liehr asked me when I planned on coming so they are interested too. Maybe run some 19T 0 or just have a big stock race, either works for me.

What tires have been working lately, I need to get some softies?

Ya' know ........... If I don't get Mike's transponder for him and hand it to him right before the race, he forgets it.

Wayne - you better get Mike's transponder at Latrobe. I'd hate for him to drive all that way and then not get counted.

Wayne,
It's a shame you have to work on Mike's car for him and build motors, shocks, etc for him. He's lucky you are around. We know who the true brains are behind team whoop a*s.

humm seems kinda funny that wayne was not there this sunday and i have went faster then i have for weeks ,,,,,,,,ya i forgot my transponder
i was rushed i dident wana hear marry who are we waiting for so i tryed to get out there b4 kevin and forgot it ,,,,,,,,,,and as far as wayne working on my stuff ya right i still would have the same oil in my shocks from sandhills in april like he has ,,,, he still thinks it works better with the oil broken down in to 8 parts,,,, every one know hes only as fast i make him,,,,,,,,i cant wait till friday rollin rollin rollin HYPERDRIVE :jest:

roaddog
01-08-2004, 01:37 PM
yaya he knows the truth. I let him go along time ago, he still has hard feelings. Notice he didnt say anything about the parts....im gonna check to see if hes trying to sell them...hehe :p

PanMan
01-08-2004, 05:21 PM
Wayne - no explanation needed. We all see you working hard on Mike's car in the pits. You couldn't even get your new KSG finished because you were dialing in Mike's Hyperdrive. You two make a good team (TWA), but we know who the brains and the driving force is behind the team.

erock - since Mike won't answer your question, I can tell you what he ran last week. Green left front, black right front, white left rear, gray right rear. The track has had gobs of traction lately. Some guys are even running a blue right rear. I'm running green left front, black right front and two aquas in the rear, but then again I don't win so don't listen to me.

Good luck to all the Beaver guys headin' over to Latrobe. I won't be there. I'm allergic to some conditions over there.

Thanks for the tire info.
Wow a gray RR, it must have some traction laid down. I was thinking about running 3 pinks and a black RF.
Anyone try that? Or would that be too much grip with the Pinks?

roaddog
01-08-2004, 09:39 PM
I run a double blue on the RF and green on the left. Black RR and aqua LR. Still tinkering tho.

Mike OBrien
01-09-2004, 05:37 AM
i the tires i really ran where orange rears and pink fronts ,,,,,,,,,,and the tire combo that wayne is running he thinks works good cus thats all he had ,,,,,,,ya he will get on here and say thats cus he gave them all to me but thats not true he just gave them back

Inquiring racers want to know!

01-10-2004, 03:43 PM
Mike got the 19t record. Then got the stock record by beating me by like 1/10 sec should of been mine...hehe :( Fun was had by all. That track took a lot of tinkering to get it. Your car is borderline loose/out of control, its pretty wild.

Good day for Team TWA!!

Mike said you had it won at Latrobe.
Pulling down the win and track record would have been nice, maybe you will get it next time.

I hate to mention other tracks on Beaver's thread here but since you guys run on Sundays it won't conflict.

Arcor is having the Ohio State race at Red Fox Raceway in Mt. Vernon, OH on Saturday Feb 28th. Track is very similar in banking to Classic Hobbies but runline is alot shorter. I wanted to invite you guys over to it.
I know its about 3 and 1/2 drive but it will be worth it. We got some sponsors locked down already which should provide some cool door prizes as well.
See the thread in the ARCOR section for more info.

We will be running 4 cell stock, 4 cell 19T 0 degree and 4 cell 19T open timing.

Thanks and I hope to make it over to Beaver soon.
until then Good luck and go fast and turn left

Sunday's racing.
I was just spectating, but,I believe the next time I am on the track with meatstick,I'll pull my car.
I can't see putting down a $700 investment to have it punted all over the track.Just ask Chuck C. how he feels about it.
I normally am not this rude but the guy just does not get it.He can't tell the difference between him hitting someone and someone hitting him. It's always someone elses fault, and until he realises what is happening it will not change.
When my car is just in the way I pull it,and wait for another race.Granted,I saw some decent driving from him when the car was right, but WOW,when it's junk it's really junk!Someone needs to inject some common sense into him.I have tried to, but I don't really have the patience to do it every week,I end up frustrated and angry,I try to remember that this is a fun hobby and try to help anyone every chance I get,but I'm at a loss with this one.
It' gotten to the point that when I see that he is there,I cringe and wonder what's gonna happen this time.
I have a hard time ignoring the antics and driver stand remarks, especially when my car is rolling down the back stretch.

I apologise if I hurt anyones feelings or offended anyone, but something needs to change.
If anyone has any ideas please help!
I would much rather see him "get it" and turn into a more courteous, and competitive racer than anything else.
I sensed a change in his attitude when he was doing well and it was incouraging.

Again,I am sorry :(

i think he should race only one class i have bin racen since 1988 and running 2 classes has allways bin a pain in the ass,,,, him being a newbe
trying to keep 2 cars going that are going to handel diff he will never learn to drive,,, like friday night at latrobe i ran to classes with the same car was tuff kepping every thing stright but my TWA bro helped me out but i had to race 2 classes i had a littel somthing to take care of ,,,,,,,,

here is what i have a problem with and so do a few outher ppl there is nothing more that i would like then to race with somone or everyone door to door for 4 min but when you come up on a car thats 4 laps off the pace and he wants to race with you that burns my ass,,,, all thes guys bitched about stock class and how thay cant keep up so the spec class started well thats fine. but nevermind nevermind nevermind

First, I have to apologize for my (race director) not doing more when it happened- between my being very sick AND (at that time) trying to get the loop wire working again, I just couldn't do 3 things at once. I too, agree that he needs to work on his "people skills" and race etiquette(look it up if you don't know the word), and I also agree completely that there was some hope for a while that we had a driver in the making. I still wonder how a person can have a drive-line of a Spirograph, and get 57 or 58 laps (A-Main territory)!!!!!!!!!! Hey, if you have some of the best stuff, and certainly some of the "best" pit crew guys, I guess ANYTHING is possible! I'll leave it at that, 'cause, well, you know......John@RJ
