pgoogs......you have any clue around how many late models there may be? is this is a limited late model class..or pan cars with the late model bodies on them.........??
how are those scissors working john?........haven't talked to you all week, that must mean that you are pretty busy....hopefully see you sunday (if Uncle goes i will def be there) he may have to go to slippery rock...we'll see..later

10-18-2003, 10:15 PM
Most of the late models are not pan cars, some are dual sport conversions or custom works type cars, full suspesion and some have trannies.
Want to buy a sprint car?(since your working and stuff).
See you Sunday,running spec.
How many times did you have to cycle your spec batteries before they looked good?

hackGordon24
10-18-2003, 11:16 PM
glitcher....you have no clue what your talking about......u have been out of the loop for a while...though what you said is true i belive they are running the pancar with late model bodies.....and u will go down tomorrow in spec....to tell you the truth I charged my batteries, then killed them. then i ran them...they are pretty good batteries for the price. u will have fun tomorrow it is an awesome class....u running anything else besides spec??? see ya there dude.

I'll bring everything, but I'm not sure how many classes i'll run.
Sprint,truck,1/12,1/10.

Want buy a sprint car?

PGoogs
10-19-2003, 11:05 AM
The late models are pan cars. Bolink BL2218 is what most people run for bodies. McAlister has a good looking body they just came out with. You'll probably see them in the future. The East Coast Modified cars we ran are the Dual Sports with Grand Motorsports (or copies) chassis. With late models, east coast mods and sprints running we need a dirt track or at least brown carpet LOL!!!!

PGoogs
10-19-2003, 11:07 AM
I forgot to put in the last post, The east coast cars are gearbox. You could mount a body on a buggy, that's what I started with at Classic. You could also run a sprint body on a buggy, been there done that too.

well panman.....the myth is false..snookie can be beat. let's just say we were solid the whole race...then with 3 laps left he got a little squirrely and "the kid" was there to strip the 1st place position from him, and he never looked back. It can be done.......spec class was lookin good tonight...we missed ya..hopefully u will be goin soon....i won't be there next week due to some party, but iu am passing down the dynasty of beating snookie to revin kevin.

hackGordon24 - Congrats on the win! I know Snookie's car is running awesome so you must have yours hooked up as well! I lost most of the paint on my car's left side when Snookie blew by me at the last race. WOW - was he fast! I'm just curious - which body did you use? Did you get a new one or did you use the Randy Dandy again?

It's great to see you and your uncle back at the track. I hope you two can make it often. It'd be nice to see your Dad again, as well. Tell him I said "hi".

I'm down to racing once or twice a month, so you won't see me every week. This weekend is my "turn" to go racing, so I'll probably be there. I understand you won't be there - with the party and stuff - yeah, life's a bitch when you're young! I'll try to hold up my end of the bargain and give Mr. Snookie a respectable run. Since you've proven that he CAN be beaten, I guess this old fart will give it a try!

Thanks for including me in your message. It's nice when you young kids remember your elders!

Wow was my spec slow!I just screwed the motor in and went, gotta work on that 0ne.
Broke my sprint every race, broke my truck, and didn't have the parts to fix it,so I visited and BSed a while and went home. But I still had fun.
A bad day racing is still better than a good day working!
Don't know when I'll be back for oval, gonna be able to run road course for a while so I'll be doing that.(until I brake all that stuff).

hackGordon24 - Ya' shoulda' been there! Poor Snookie had no luck once again!

It was a 5 car Spec main and Snookie had the lead. PanMan was second and Joe M. was third. We're all going around like a frieght train - no more than inches apart. All three cars were dead even. We raced this way for 3 1/2 minutes.

At about 30 seconds to go, PanMan saw some daylight inside and stuck his nose in there. PanMan comes away with the lead, Snookie second and Joe still a real close third. On the very next lap, PanMan drifts slightly wide and Snookie returns the favor by going low and taking back the lead. Now it's back to Snookie, PanMan and Joe. We're still hooked together like a train.

The tone sounds - time's up and we're finishing the lap. On the VERY LAST TURN of the VERY LAST LAP, poor Snookie stuffs it in the pipe! PanMan goes around for the win and Joe clears Snookie for second. Poor Snookie gets marshalled and comes across the line in third. What a race! Close the entire time and won in the last 5 feet! All three cars were within a couple of tenths!

In an earlier message, you "passed down the dynasty of beating Snookie to Revin' Kevin". I hope I didn't disappoint! I upheld my part of the bargain!

It was a blast! We all had tons of fun and laughed for 15 minutes after the race! Too bad you weren't there.

Hope to see you next time!

I think it is closer to street pizza, instead of "spec" after Sunday's crashes. Spec is correct, but ends up being more like SPECK on the wall! Yes, we too hope the "hack" comes through surgery OK- I still haven't gotten a call yet, and noone answers at home yet.
If you are going by past attendance, this week should be a little lower than last- it seems to go in 2 week intervals. BUT, with the weather, you never know. This could finally be the start to a BIG racing season........ Sorry to hear that you are working on Saturday, but maybe you could stop by and see all the Losi's racing......... Until then, John @ RJ

This is just a quick post to see a show of hands (replies to this), who will be racing here at the Raceway on Thanksgiving Sunday?? I will be at the U.S. Indoor Champs, but "mary" will be conducting the races(with some human help). If nobody is planning on racing, please let me/Sam know, and we'll just schedule an "OPEN PRACTICE" for those who do attend. Thanks, and have a great Thanksgiving!!!!!!!! John @ RJ

I was planning on being there on Sunday the 30th. I won't be there this week (23rd) so I figured I'd go on the 30th.

As badly as I need practice, I DON'T want to be there if only a few show up. An hour and a half drive each way is too much to do for practice only.

John - post on here when you hear who's coming. If the total is low, count me out. I'd appreciate knowing ahead of time.

Thanks.

So everyone knows, we had a grand total of 7 people show-up for Sunday's oval race. Therefore, next week's oval race has been cancelled. The date for this cancellation is NOVEMBER 30,2003. We will resume normal(?) racing on December 6 th & 7th. Have a Happy Thanksgiving to all racers!!!!!!!!!! John @ RJ

John - Sorry to hear about the light turnout on Sunday. I guess the nice weather kept everyone busy with other things. I think you might want to accelerate your plans for a new "market". Looks like your present client base is drying up.

Thanks for the notice on the cancellation. I wouldn't want to drive there to find the doors closed.

Wishing you, Sam and your family a happy Thanksgiving.

Tell Ray I wish him good qualifiers! He doesn't need any luck, just good races and he'll do terrific! Tell him Kevin said "go get 'em!".

OK, guys. Thanksgiving is over and the indoor champs are history (Way to go, Raymond! Good job!). John is back and I'm sure he'd like to get racing at the Raceway back underway.

Who wants to race this Sunday, 12-7? I plan on being there. John - tell Snookie that I plan on coming. He likes to know that for some reason. By the way, also ask Snookie about the rent-a-racer.

Let's get a decent field of cars for this weekend's racing. I hope to see everyone at The Raceway!

Thank you for your un-ending support to our "cause", and your commitment to driving 70 miles to race at "The Raceway". You are a true, dyed-in-the-wool R/Cer!!!

Yes, Kevin, he did, and he is doing MUCH better. Also, Allen got TWO 57 lap runs!! as you may remember, that now requires me to paint him a body.......... I know, I can't believe it either. I thought I was safe until Spring or so! We had 2 heats of stock, and 2 of SPEC, all of whom were brave to travel the roads when they did. Later on, the roads got better, when the rain (& PennDot) came. More to come, when hackGordon24 himself replies.......John @ RJ

Mike, I think you MAY HAVE made him learn how to type with that comment. He is now talking about registering on HobbyTalk and giving a rebuttal. I won't let him use my name to do it, so he MUST start his own account. That website with discussion board about R/C Avenue, in Latrobe is: www.rcconnection.cjb.net which is hosted by R/C Connection Hobby Shop in Derry, PA . Oliver and his wife are trying to promote the track, and have encountered some resistence last week from certain posters. The language, and content were purged, and now it is a safe forum for all to visit. Thanks, John @ RJ

Sheeeesh! Billy comes back one week, is on a 61 lap pace and wins the A? I guess I'll start preparing for the "B Main" with the others who have 59 laps or less.

Seriously, I'm glad to hear that he was driving and feeling well. It sounds like the "A" was between Mike and Billy. Anyone else running well? No offense to Alan, but tell him I'll grid beside him in the "B". Pretty soon he'll be at my standard 59 lap pace and we'll be racing together.

I've visited the message board on the RC Connection site. It is a lot cleaner than it was last week. There's still someone on the site who apparently is the best thing since Joel Johnson. It's interesting to think that there's a driver of that caliber in Western Pennsylvania. Someone should inform the manufacturers that they're passing up a golden sponsorship opportunity there.

I plan on being there this Sunday, December 21. I think John wants to give me my Christmas present and I don't want to disappoint him. I'll be running Spec and 4 cell stock. Notice I didn't say "racing", .... I said "running". Remember .... those of you in my heat have the inside when your lapping me.

John - An extra lap for Christmas - That's too funny! BUT, you better make it two laps 'cause Mike and Billy were on a 61 pace. Do the math - 61 minus my 59 = 2 laps. I'll expect to enjoy those this Sunday, thank you!

AND ...... I'll have you know that Mike O'Brien found my car to be loose the last time he drove it. It's not THAT tight. ALSO .... I run a black right front - not 4 greens. Get your stories straight!

I read on another board that you've posted a thread about the "other" southwestern PA track to begin to spread the word. Where is that thread? I'm just curious. I really have no interest in attending as long as the "neighborhood" has the same characters. Racing's supposed to be fun - not the Hatfiled's and McCoy's.

Later .....
