View Full Version : Raceway at River Junction Beaver Pa
Mike OBrien 06-09-2004, 04:43 AM PGOOGS WROTE: Remember bigger, "better" and newer aren't always the best!
You could always move River Junction to the Youngstown/Warren area. You'd still be an hour from Beaver PLUS an hour from Akron and the biggest plus for us up here, You would be local. Just something to think about.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
well the extra hour drive to Washington should not be that bad for you being that you only show up once a year!!!!!!!!

erock1331 06-09-2004, 08:25 AM Hey John,
I got the snowbirds dimensions if you want em for the new oval track.
Infield - 67' long x 16' wide
Straights - 12' wide
Turns - 14' wide
Outside track 95' long by 40' wide
Approx center line - 180', approx runline 165-170'
Now that would be a kickbutt oval track !!!
Build it and they will come, LOL
Snookie 06-09-2004, 08:22 PM Who's in Saturday?
Snookie 06-09-2004, 08:26 PM Dress Barn Raceway? Just because Racer D. beats the pants off the competition, I'm not Racin in a dress...
glitcher 06-09-2004, 09:32 PM Why stop now?
highster 06-10-2004, 04:40 PM Exactly which Washington mall is this in? The big mall or Franklin mall?
Snookie 06-10-2004, 05:08 PM Next to Home Depot, or across the hall from Aron's Washington Mall Raceway (the old Courtview Raceway)
highster 06-10-2004, 10:33 PM So thats Franklin mall, right?
Mike@SteelCity 06-10-2004, 11:24 PM Haha... this is in the "Washington Mall", which is next to Home Depot as Snookie put it so boldly. It is directly off of I-79/I-70, Rt. 19. NOT the Franklin (now Crown Center) mall. I guess I need to put GPS coordinates on our website as I did with the MD shop. Stop in and check it out... as it is changing daily. Our doors are always open whether we are selling stuff or not. (we should be selling next week) We will begin to work on the Tracks sometime in July so now is your chance for input and help!
Mike OBrien 06-11-2004, 04:41 AM my 2 cents as far as the oval long as you can with the turns a littel wider then thay are at beaver maybe 2 feet and the loop under the carpet
and if the roof is high a driver stand that is at least 4 feet high
here comes the wings
PGoogs 06-11-2004, 08:54 PM I might have missed something here. John are you going to be running the new Washington store and Beaver? I was thinking you weren't involved with the new store and if RJ was to shut down I was offering suggestions (self serving as they may be). Mike, you're right I haven't raced at Beaver much this past year because I got into the Indy car thing at Classic. I personnaly think River Junction is a nicer, friendlier and more relaxed place to race than Classic. If moving the track helps business and more racers are in that area, then go for it. I wish John and Sam all the luck in the world.
RacewayJohn 06-12-2004, 09:50 AM Hey, thanks for your concerns. River Junction WILL REMAIN OPEN, at least for the immediate future unless business dictates that it close, which the decision for that will be AFTER SUMMER and well into the Fall season. Yes, Paul, I will be split into 3 parts, actually. I (obviously) have the Beaver store to be at, plus, the Washington store (more hours there), and then I ALSO work at www.supplementcentral.com to help with warehouse and shipping duties- this is in the mornings from 8-12 or so. This multi-tasking is because the mortgage never stops, and I must do what I can to keep the building/business open. I hope to be issued a cell phone in the near future, where (if you need to ) I can be contacted directly at any time. We'll see, since that would be another expense that is not needed right now.
Eric, thanks for the dimensions, and we'll see what we have when the "skirts" have gone.... As far as the "build it and they will come" adage, I have (over the years here in Beaver) believed it less and less. We have had a number of successful (AND FUN) races, but not to the level that we should with the atmosphere, location, and accomodating people that we have here in Beaver. I hope that the "Steeler's" connection and the media blitz that will be happening in the future will reverse this direction. We'll see. Thanks to all, and be sure that I WON'T give up too easily, unless I hit the lotto or something :jest: John @ RJ
glitcher 06-12-2004, 11:03 AM Dress Barn Raceway? Just because Racer D. beats the pants off the competition, I'm not Racin in a dress...
Hey Snook,I bet the dress barn is having a "going out of buisness" sale.
Mike OBrien 06-12-2004, 11:29 AM oh ya presto forgot about him lol the good old ( i cant go presto ) l  l

glitcher 06-23-2004, 06:22 PM Your making me feel bad Snook :(

roaddog 07-13-2004, 10:02 AM Well if beaver is closed I guess my stuff will be going up for sale on hobby talk. Stay tuned for a huge list of high end stuff.
erock1331 07-13-2004, 10:28 AM Wayne,
You can always come over and race with us at Classic, always welcome brotha !!
If you do decide to sell anything, email me the list before posting it up here.
Looking for a T35 and Tire Truer.
Snookie 07-13-2004, 01:33 PM For some reason nobody wants to race at the BEAVER, now I'll drive 1 hour to race in Washington full time.
highster 07-13-2004, 04:45 PM I would love to still be racing in Beaver.
roaddog 07-13-2004, 05:50 PM Summer racing has always died at beaver. Then it pics up in the fall. Sure thing eric, I have some stuff im sure you'll be interested in. I would love to come to classic but with my work schedule it would only be possible like 1 time a month and to be compeditive i would have to race more than that. Beaver was close and if i worked daylight i could still make it. No way of doing that now that Washington is 1hr away. Oh well it was fun while it lasted. I get that list up soon. I still gotta repo some stuff off mike.
highster 07-13-2004, 06:32 PM I agree summer racing dies at just about every indoor track, but this sounds like the end has come.

Snookie 08-03-2004, 07:18 PM Bags and myself are ready. Rev'in Keven said let him know when.I'm sure we can track down Joe. Allen always up for the challange. Any other takers?
highster 08-03-2004, 09:06 PM Is the new track ready? Is this going to be on Sat.?
Snookie 08-05-2004, 08:57 AM What new track?
Who wants to race naxt weekend with ME?
PanMan 08-05-2004, 09:36 AM Snookie - I'm guessing that some people are thinking that you're talking about the "new" Washington location. You might want to clarify which track you're talking about.
If you're talking about racing next Friday evening at Aaron's, I'll try to make it.
Thanks
Kevin
Snookie 08-05-2004, 11:10 AM Panman, go to hear from you.
Only 2 tracks open that I know of,
Yes I'll be racing at Aarons ( Washington Mall Raceway) Friday the 13.
Tring to get 2 dozen of my racer friends to race The Raceway in Bever on the 14 or 15. And yes Allan is also invited...
erock1331 08-05-2004, 01:57 PM Any of the PA guys making it over to Classic for our big race on 9/18?
I just built a Bombers car last night. Can't wait to run it, hope to see some other Bombers there.
It's an awesome class and really looks cool under the lights.
Might even have to get Meatstick to come over, I heard he got banned from Jack's track, LOL
highster 08-05-2004, 04:04 PM Is the raceway in beaver still open or able to host racing?
How late does the Washington mall Raceway, run into the night?
Do they still run Legends?
RacewayJohn 08-05-2004, 09:09 PM Tom, I have been asked by a number of people if they could "rent" the track facility here in Beaver, and have agreed to it. So, ask Snookie the particulars so we'll both know when............. Thanks to all who have been concerned about the future of the Raceway, and of Sam and myself. More to come ;) John @ the former RJ
MUSTANG 08-05-2004, 11:15 PM Snookie......What's Up? I'm ready to race!! Car is FAST !! With the tuning and testing last week at Aarons in Washington, I'm ready for to race with you Saturday the 14th in Beaver....Who else is up for it? 4 cell stock, Bombers??? I'm ready to ride the train...
Snookie 08-06-2004, 11:54 AM Yes. I'm looking to find 16 to 24 racin buddies to race at Bever.
Which day would be best for a good turnout? Sat 14 or Sun 15?
Onroad racers, 12 scale OVAL is a very FUN class to run. COME ON DOWN.
Bombers should be there in force. They put on a great show...
PanMan 08-06-2004, 12:17 PM Definitely cannot make Saturday the 14th. As a matter of fact, I can't make ANY Saturday in August - other commitments. Sundays will be 50/50 - maybe yes, maybe no.
Kevin
highster 08-06-2004, 03:41 PM We could make any sat. That would be me, my son, and a freind, all racing oval and maybe 1/10th scale touring if time permits. How much would this cost us? What time of the day would we be starting?
glitcher 08-06-2004, 04:57 PM Sunday's are best for me.
Depends on which Saturday it will be wether I can make it or not.
I'll run any class you need me to run.
