Happy to hear everyone had a good time. It was nice to see a good turnout. Would like to get more of our OVAL guys back on the track.
The infield held up better than expected. It took some big hits from the on road guys and nobody broke...
Martian, great run with my t-12. Glad to see it got a good home...

well it looks like the big class is now spec. think it would be a good idea to beef up the rules a littel bit like every one run the same body like the
mcallister ford, dodge or chevy there cheep and look good to.and maybe spec tires there cheeper allso. and i allso think that R brush is a good idea

here are the 2004 mcallister bodies

Wayne
Went Saturday and the track is totally different. About 2:30 into the Main, The freight train of Lauren, Garey, Adam Martin ran me down and passed me like I was standing still. Meanwhile Zach already lapped me, LOL

Me need to work on me stuff, cause Erock was out to lunch.
I did win Mini T Masters Oval and Mini T Masters Road Course In Ravenna on Sunday though, LOL

Ok I admit I did leave the Sandhills/Red Fox track record Monsters in the box, but still the car was a pile. The track got really wierd on us. The guys who were fast 2 months ago are slow now and the guys who were about a lap off the pace are faster. Who knows.
At least the Mini-T was flying.

Hi guys, been awhile since I've been down there. What are the times for the track to open and is there a schedule for practice between oval and road course. Hope to make it down soon!!

RacewayJohn

Hey Paul, good to hear from you, we have now combined the oval and roadcourse into one day- Saturday. The doors open at 2PM (1 hr. later) and the races start at 5PM sharp, with pizza arriving around 4:30PM like before. Each track type gets about 1.5 hours of practice before race start, and we run the track changes back-to-back, so, at the Mains, the oval classes have just run the 2nd qual. then run the mains- this gives more consistent traction for them.
We have also just changed to PIPES instead of black hose, and the pipes are very forgiving! Cars glance off them instead of "wedgies". But, we did have a couple of those too!! (Painful)

glitcher
03-09-2004, 07:41 PM
John,
Were the wedgies on the cars or the drivers? :D
(maybe the marshalls)

Shyniah is looking for some novices to race against saturday. If anybody has an old car that friend or family member could race, bring them to the track. It would be nice to get some new faces at the races.

I took this from another thread......it was a comment as to why this guy doesnt like racing oval and I thought to myself........wow....sounds just like the Beav.
--------------------------------------------

Oval is by far my least favorite.

I could sit here and tell you it's because it's too expensive like many others who no longer race oval will tell you. You got to have the best motors, batteries, fresh exotic foam tires, blah, blah, blah. I don't really have a problem with all that at all. Racing anything is expensive, you can't get aroud that. That's not what bothers me at all.

I also don't think oval is boring or easy. I know it isn't at all. That isn't an issue with me in the least

What bothers me is the stupid drama. A day at the oval track is like a freaking soap opera. At the two local oval tracks that have been around here, there was always some rediculous contreversy. People who hated each other due to on-track incidents. People ready to "take it outside" , nearly every weekend. People cheating. People wrongefully suspecting others of cheating. There were a couple occasions where I had invited friends or family to check out what RC racing was about at the local track. Then the oval guys left me completely embarassed with their behavior. Horrible sportsmanship and near fist fights. I know of a certain indoor on-road track that used to offer oval racing, but recently gave it up. If you ask the racers there how they feel about the loss of oval racing they would say good riddance. They have less of a negative attitude there, now that the oval racing is gone. I have friends that are getting their kids into a hobby that they can share with them, and they are getting into RC racing. I know that if they went to some of the oval tracks they would avoid RC racing like the plague. Sorry, but it's true.

Mike OBrien
03-10-2004, 05:45 AM
that has nothing to do with just oval racing thats all racing sedan offroad what ever. in fact that guy that made that post probley has never has bin in the pits of a big car race nascar gocarts motocross exc exc,,,
its the same in all racing you think he would be on here bitching if he was the bigdog at his local track ,,,, i dont think so hes just some lapper
thats 8 laps off the pace and used that as reason to quit ..........

Brett it is the same as other Fridays, just adding the oval to the mix. The group decides when to change the track from one to the other, and practice is done at 9PM. Thanks, John @ RJ

Dude, I think it refers to #732 above, maybe it's another page on other computers. It is a quote from an on-going saga at another track, which has little(if anything) to do with what happens here. John @ RJ
