If that screw goes into a metal stand off,put a very small drop of thread lock on it,or wrap the threads with saran wrap, works just as well, and easier to get loose, and smells like pizza, unless you buy new stuff. :freak:

Hey Guys

From what I saw, the track looked great, Snookie and Buddylee put on one heck of a show, and I think it's better to change the track every now and again just to spice things up a bit. This is strictly from the observers point of view though.

''HACKED LIKE A LUMBERJACK'' I can't stop laughing to type...
Keep thinking of poor MByrne car ''launching'' off Allan's hood over the wall almost into the bathrooms.
Glad everyone had a good time.

You can look at it this was, maybe that was his Stroker Ace inpersonation. At the end when Stroker wins the race on his roof, "Hows this for spectacular!"

Congrats to Dan and Snookie for running a good show. Everything moved along smoothly. I appreciate the work from the two of you.

I'd like to say I had fun, but I really didn't. Lately, racing is becoming more frustrating than fun.

I vote a big "NO" for three qualifiers and a main. I also vote a big "NO" for a later start time. To be honest, I'm not crazy about Sunday racing in the first place, but I do it because "that's the way it is". You folks that drive 15 minutes to the track can get home at a decent hour, but I'm an hour and a half away. Adding races and moving out the start time will only make it later when I get home - something that I'm trying to avoid.

That's my $.02. I realize I'm only one racer out of thirty or so but those are my opinions. If everyone else wants to race 3 heats and a main and start later, then that's what John should do. If it comes to that, you'll have to count me out. I guess I'll look for another track to race at.

Hey, how did Dan do running the races? I take it Snookie was in on the operation side as well this weekend while John, Ray and I were at the Snowbirds...
Congratulations to Ray for bringing in a big win by the way. Pictures on SteelCityHobbies.com website.

About running 3 qualifiers... do you really need to do that? I think the races are long enough with 2... and I do not even race! Not yet anyway. I am just happy that I did not totally destroy Snookie's car the last time I ran! I'm working on getting one of my very own... haha My goal is to see how long it takes to turn more laps than Allen.

Have a great week!

spaz.....good job, but u need ot come up with ur own phrases, i gave u the mable one.....come one kid

i liked the tri-oval it was good to have something diff to race on.....as for kevin..i hope we don';t loose him as a racer.....he is too good of a driver and a guy to lose an asset like him.

anyway congrats to ray-ray for an outstanding finish in touring car....anyone know how he did in 1/12th???>>. ... well my alarm forgot to go off so i might have missed the basketball game tonight.....see ya boys later

Kevin I feel your pain. I to had been frustrated. That's why I'm putting a new car together. I race better when I'm wrenchin, so I don't overlook something small or different. Your one of few that make racing fun, so I don't want to loose you to another track. 2 (clean) heats and MAIN are good idea if you have enough practic and set up time before racing for RACERS that can't make Wed. nite practic. Might have to switch back to old Sat. nite format...That's my $.02...

2 heats and a main is good enough for me.,but I don't make it on Sunday to often.I'll do what ever you guys want.

Your right Hack,Ray is a big part of the Raceway and congrats should be placed where ever you want.

Good job Ray,how about some off road?

I fill like everyone else when its comes to Kevin, its a real pleasure to run with him ,I don't get to do it to often but when I do I know I'm in a clean race.As for 3 qualifiers and a main I don,t really care as long as there is a track to race at sat or sun makes no differance!!! Ray congrats on your win.

roaddog
02-09-2004, 10:22 PM
Sat or Sun doesn't matter to me really. Most other tracks that I have raced at start later for people that work daylight to have a chance to race. This is the year 2004 and a lot of people work weekends now. Not all of us has every weekend off. I can make most races if they start later than 3. The way it is now you don't really have enough time to get your car set up. Two hours in my opinion is not enough and I live close. Can you imagine someone that has never raced there before trying to get a setup in 2 hrs...he better have all his packs charged before he gets there. I have raced at tracks that are 1.5+ away and got home at 3 in the morning but thats part of racing if you want to participate. I'm not pointing any fingers but I don't know whats going on this year. I have raced with john for many years and this gotta be the worst year for people having issues. Your never going to please everyone so sometimes we have to adapt or change. There gotta be something in the water in western pa about change. People fight it tooth and nail at every chance. I will continue to race when I can with the current race times/day but it will be limited and if it gets to bad check the case for my stuff.

what can i do to get my nascar to stop sliding out??

roaddog
02-09-2004, 10:45 PM
It could be a few things. Check your tires, tweek, springs, shocks etc. See what everyone else is running and that will get you a starting point.

Snookie
02-09-2004, 10:54 PM
Mark, shocks... tires... front end set-up...
Quit trying to race Allan... Race the track...

Hack, (and not to change the subject), Ray got screwed on the 1/12th scale as the Snowbirds broadcast system on the 2-way radio was "not working" until they announced the A-Main racers. Which is where Ray was supposed to be. He did not start. Details on www.steelcityhobbies.com

I hope to be racing oval in about 2 weeks... still need to get a car. Any suggestions? I want something kick butt and high technology. I know I will suck at driving, but I'll get better... should at least catch up to Allen.

Mike!

02-10-2004, 12:30 PM
Mike you did good your first time out, you'll be ok..hehe

As for cars get a KSG or Hyperdrive sse pro 2 you wont go wrong with either.

PanMan
02-10-2004, 01:26 PM
I think roaddog really hates me. Every time I post something, it seems like my opinions (and they're just that - opinions) are wrong.

I don't know of any track that gives you three or four hours practice to get your set up right. Most offer two and that's it. Heck, we even had only two hours practice when it was split between oval and road course.

For YEARS, I played in a band. Bass and lead singer. I missed literally hundreds of race nights because I was working the weekend. I know what it's like to want to race, yet be committed to something else. Now that my schedule is more free, I appreciate it. But don't think I didn't pay my dues when it comes to working weekends. My cars sat out a lot of nights.

I'm not against change - never have been. I went along with the change to 4 cell racing, different racing day, different track configurations ..... heck, I'm even thinking of getting a salad instead of pizza. All of this because I want to race. I still feel, however, that I'm entitled to my OPINION and I WILL say what I think. As I said before, my vote ( and that's just what it is - ONE vote) would be to leave the start time alone and stay with 2 heats and a main. If the majority wants something different, then the majority rules.

Hack, Snookie, Old Hippie and Highster - thanks for the kind words and support. I've said it in practically every post that I've written. THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION. I'm not trying to persuade anyone to think like me - I'm just offering my thoughts.

Maybe I should just keep my mouth shut (or "keyboard" shut). Apparently, I'm the one causing issues and I don't want to do that. I just want to have some fun racing.

roaddog - sorry if we don't see eye to eye. I'll stop talking about this issue as of now.

Kevin
