DRIVERX WAS GOING TO STOP AFTER WORK AND HELP, BUT DALE DIDNT WANT ANY HELP, SO GIVE HIM A CALL  B3_borntofly 07-11-2003, 06:26 PM any of you guys going to maxes sunday or you running RCbarn? Good Luck Driver X and Member this weekend.. im running hardstays sunday Driver X does Philes have B4 parts in stock yet? Papamerkle 07-11-2003, 08:14 PM Holding My Own: This is the 7th season my Son and I have been racing at rc barn. We have good setup that works there-hopefully it will work or be a good starting point for ft. wayne. We won't be racing at all this weekend. I have a welding project that needs done by friday. sheath 07-12-2003, 10:13 PM A beautiful day for racing in Ft. Wayne. Mother Nature decide to let us run again!! Only one part of the track required a lot of work to get it ready for racing, and it was looking good by race time. The new AMBrc system worked flawlessly, as well as the Autoscore system. Our friend Otto kept the heats running on time with his regular annoucements. The turnout was on the low side, but the fun factor was on the high side. As it turned out, all but one person that raced, went home with an award. Gift certificates from Nick's Hobby Shop were given to the first place finishers, and gift certificates from Miguel's Mexican Restaurant in Gateway Plaza were given to the 2nd place finishers. The top 3 in each class also received the World Famous Pit Towels, embroidered with their finishing place. Overall, it was a great day of racing. wallyworld 07-14-2003, 01:17 AM Phil and I would like to express a special thanks to Nathon Bauer and Scott Heath for all their efforts to get the new scoring system up and running and to all the participants for helping out to make the race day go so well.  wallyworld 07-14-2003, 01:55 AM Hi Terry. HOLDING MY OWN 07-14-2003, 10:40 AM papamerkle, do you guys drive a suburban(real truck) if so i think you guys bought one of my losi trucks from me!!! small world... HOLDING MY OWN 07-14-2003, 10:44 AM b3 borntofly, thanks for the luck, but it seems driverx had more then i did.. i didnt run my gas truck because i was breaking in a new engine, i raced my 1/8 scale i was in third in the A and i think my center diff went, so i had front wheel drive but no rear wheels had to pull it off, but thats racing... how did you do at hardestys??? pretty cool track huh??? Adams 44 07-14-2003, 01:40 PM SEPT. 12, 13, 14 Indiana Outdoor Electric Off-Road Championship!! YEA!! Sounds Great, Scott can you give us some details. Stock 1 day mod another, etc... Had a great time Saturday everyone did a great job, just a shame we didn't have more racers. Good to have several new racers join in. The scoring system went off without a hitch. Nick DriverX 07-14-2003, 04:00 PM deleted by me to get out of here for good sheath 07-14-2003, 04:28 PM Nick, They are going to work on plans later this week for the Indiana race in Sept. Will let you know more details as I know them. On a general note, all Saturday races from now until the Indiana race in September, are normal price races. It was suggested at the racer meeting a week ago, that there may be too many 'trophy' races through the season. Therefore, the "Fun in the Sun Run" on July 26th, and the "Mid-Summer Blast" on August 16 are no longer 'trophy' races, and the entry fees are now the same as the weekly racing. sheath 07-14-2003, 04:30 PM Driver X, Yep, I'm hanging around out here. How did you do at Mark's this weekend? Papamerkle 07-14-2003, 06:11 PM Holding My Own: Yes, it a small world. It's was a strong running truck when we sold it. My new Suburban sits about 6-8 inches closer to the ground. Were planning to run Ft Wayne sat. Maybe we will see you sat. Every where you go in Fort Wayne, the hobby shops, out and about, to the local track, I seem to run into people just down right pissed, at how things are being done here in Fort Wayne. I hear all the complaints, and the whinning, and honestly I'm upset also. So, I've decided to voice my opinion here, since I hear that alot of people visit this site. I know that there are people here in Fort Wayne that don't like me, oh well. It's probably because I do speak my mind and get upset sometimes. I probably take RC racing too serious for some. O,K I'll work on that. But, I have been racing since the mid 80's. I've seen clubs run all sorts of different ways. Honestly speaking of the club, if you can call it that. It is out there!!!! Who are the officials? When was the last election? I've been a club member for years now. I don't remember any elections lately. Who controls the money? I know that Scott Heath has done a great job. He has been dedicated to keeping it going. But, can someone please explain to me what has happened lately. Ever since the new track has been opened there seems to be somewhat of a dictaorship in town. What is up, with the club? I understand that Dale and Phil opened the track. They have spent all kinds of their own money to get it going. I personnally was very happy that it did open. I truly commend Dale and Phil for their efforts. From the very start I wanted to be supportive of their track. Mostly, because I just want to race, and not drive two hours everytime to do it. I figured that this track would surely draw the masses. This would surely be a place were all the racers in Fort Wayne and surrounding area could race and have a great time. And remember Fort Wayne has some very good racers. Ron Ferguson, Lee Harp, Phil Zimmerman, Brad Mergy, Joe Laws, Tracy Fogelston, Ben Puterbaugh and many others. These guys and myself go racing all the time. We see successful clubs and tracks all the time. What happened? This track is a great facility. I'll tell you what I see has happened, but remember this is not just me talking here. This is what I hear on the street. But If I am miss informed, someone please set me staight. Most, if not all of the die hard racers have been ignored, misled, and sometimes downright lied to. These are the same guys that really hoped that the track would succeed, and now don't really care if it does. Dale has it in his mind, that he can make this track succesfull with the help of all the new people. But, what about the people like myself that have been there, when there were five guys racing on Tuesday night. How many new people from last year are still racing this year Dale??? They also got tired of the way things are being done. Many people including myself have tried to give advice on things that we see at other tracks that do work. Not one idea has been implemented. Don't get me wrong, I want to see the track succeed, and I'm not trying to tell you how to run your business. But, it looks and sounds to me, that you might want to try and listen to the people who want to help. If you don't want to do that, then go to a race in Toledo, or Cinci. See how they do things. I recommend that you have a meeting. Invite the dedicated racers in town. You know, the guys that have been there year after year. Let's bury the hatchet, get a solid plan to make this track a prosperous venture for you guys. Lets discuss how races should be run. What classes people like to run around here. A schedule that suits the majority. I am confident that you can make money at this. It just needs a little give and take on both sides. Please, understand I JUST WANT TO RACE ALREADY P.S Bring back road course on Sundays for the winter  wallyworld 07-16-2003, 04:23 AM Oh goody, another meeting to get Phil and I straightened out. At least your not a spineless coward pretending to be someone else and using hobbytalk for they're own vindictive purpose (bigmotor and wabbitbebad). Hobbytalk is a great idea, it gives people a great opportunity to share their views and thoughts on things concerning our hobby but unfortunately when certain people are unhappy about a decision they have now decided to use this forum to fester anger and unhappiness among each other to get they're revenge. We do listen to people when they comment to us and we did talk to others before we made this decision. I'm sorry you and Ben don't agree with what has been decided but we have to make decisions that we feel are going to work best for everyone. Karl, I was at the raceway tonight so why not express yourself there first or on the phone about your unhappiness with this. Don't you think Phil or I should be given the opportunity to explain our rational behind our decision.I have been watching this thread and as Scott Heath was trying to reason and rationalize with certain individuals he was completely disrespected and ignored. I will not subject myself to that and I hope he doesn't anymore either. After I answered bigmotors post it was very clear to me his only motive was to cause trouble, the sad part about it is a lot of these problems that he was blaming Phil and I for he created himself before he got mad and quit the raceway. Our plans are to continue to do our best to provide a raceway for Ft. Wayne RC racers and when things go wrong do our the best to correct them. We would appreciate your support and please give us a chance to discuss any problems man to man first. sheath 07-16-2003, 09:45 AM summitrcraceway@yahoo.com Summit R/C Raceway 260-471-2722 Scott Heath - sheath9831@aol.com dynoman007 07-16-2003, 11:20 AM i would like to have a meeting at my house sometime this week im really mad tooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! so all the racer guys bring some cleaning stuf and your vacuum and a ladder just a small one cause i need to replace my smoke alarm batteries and come to my house .......... hmmmm a lil beer wouldnt hurt either ... oooh someone bring a grill some charcoal and lighter fluid as well .... and lets get my place cleaned up ..................... :jest:   BenPuterbaugh 07-16-2003, 11:23 AM TennisC is little to far to drive for a meeting. kgwomack 07-16-2003, 12:05 PM Wallyworld, my concerns are not just about one decision or one thing that has happened. I really didn't get into too much detail in my post. I would like to discuss these things in more detail, at a meeting, where others may voice thier concerns also. But on the other hand it is your business. What other business holds a meeting with customers to talk about how the business is run. It's not really my place or everyone elses, to tell you. But, another but, businesses do study demographics to research what works. Don't forget many have tried to talk to you, and share ideas. Please understand also my post is also the grumblings of many people. All that grumbling is alot of people bitching behind your back. I just aired the laundry and voiced some of my own. If it was just me, YOU KNOW ME, I would voice my opinion verbally to you. Wallyworld, I know we don't see eye to eye on things all the time, but all I really want is good, fair, competitive, racing. I don't ask that the rules or anything be done to suit just me. I try to make it more fun and consistent for everyone. How many times have you heard me say that I like competition, and want more people to show up. I personally would rather lose to the best drivers around, than to win when there are five guys racing. Losing to the best makes you strive to be better. It pushes you. Speaking of rules, we need some rules. ROAR rules pretty much cover things. That is all that I am saying. This is not intended to be a personal attack on you or the track. I truly believe that you guys have done a great job on the track. I am not sure I know what decision you are talking about. If you are refering to the decision on Friday night roadcourse, yes that bothers me somewhat, but the hole is deeper than that. I will support it if the racing is on days that I can be there. Friday nights, Saturedays are just bad for me. Maybe, by me doing this and stirring the pot we can settle things and move forward. All this bickering is giving me a headache. :freak: kgwomack 07-16-2003, 01:11 PM Sorry, just one more thing. As I stated before, I just want to race. MY only goal in voicing my opinion here is to try to make things better. THAT IS IT. I'm not really concerned about who gets mad. As I see and hear there are already enough mad people out there. The ultimate goal here is to improve the turn out, so that the track survives. 10 guys ain't gonna cut it. What happened to the 50 to 100 guys that everyone was talking about. "If you build it, they will come." This statement is only partially true I guess. I might just have to buy an oval car now.................. Oh no, what am I thinking. kgwomack 07-16-2003, 01:19 PM Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left, Turn left,. Turn left, Turn left,........................ahhhhhhhhh  BenPuterbaugh 07-16-2003, 01:23 PM No, it's left-one-one-thousand-left-one-one-thousand-left.. :o kgwomack 07-16-2003, 01:39 PM Ben, I was thinking short track. not Daytona. :D HOLDING MY OWN 07-16-2003, 02:01 PM CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DriverX 07-16-2003, 04:28 PM deleted by me to get out of here for good HOLDING MY OWN 07-16-2003, 04:33 PM YES :jest: wallyworld 07-16-2003, 09:26 PM We opened a hobby shop at the raceway four months ago to help support the track. Our customers that come in and do business there share their ideas and catch up on the latest also. Please feel free to continue to use the other hobby shops in Ft. Wayne as they are all fine places to do business, but maybe every now and then stop by just to say hey and catch up on the latest instead of finding out this stuff second and third hand from them. I can hear any grumbles or complaints from the raceway much easier. Also maybe we should continue any further discussions on roadcoarse and oval racing on the other forums. Thanks. wabbitbebad 07-16-2003, 11:52 PM First off Dale, I have never hid behind a computer. Every person that wanted to contact me had no problem sending me a message through the forum. In fact I spoke quite a bit with Scott Heath via email and I am sure he will confirm that. I am sure he will also confirm that I was respectful to him in those conversations, even though we had different points of views on many matters. Second of all, I came to your drivers meeting, respectfully listened to the opinions of everyone present, and clearly identified myself at that gathering and spoke with the others for several hours, even long after you left. That does not sound like a coward or someone who is hiding to me. Also realize that until now, i had ceased commenting after the drivers meeting and remained silent, figuring I would give you a chance to change and work things out, but since you elected to take a cheap shot at me and others a few posts up, I no longer feel compelled to remain silent. You say that you want to hear what is wrong at the track, but then when people tell you, you launch a personal attack at them. You acuse people of not talking to you or Phil privately, but in fact we have. Ask Phil and his wife, i spoke with both of them privately several times and so did big motor and a lot of other folks. But the reality of it is that Phil cant fix the problems at the track because the problem is you and the stupid comments that come out of your mouth. You are the two faced person who spoke poorly of Aaron behind his back just because he elected to no longer work there any more. You are the one who said everyone "HAD" to help maintain the track, then sat back and kept quite while Scott tried to defend you and claim that nobody ever said that. I heard it, my daughter heard it, and Nick and his wife heard you say it and we even challenged your point of view on it. Personally I think Phil is a great guy and have no problems with him or his personality. You on the other hand are a self proclaimed know it all with the business common sense of an Enron executive and the personality of a stubborn mule. You look at my initial criticism of the track. All that I said was 100% true. It is a nice place, but needs to be kept cleaner inside the building. I also said that Aaron was treated poorly and not shown the respect he deserved, well that was true as well and it was you that did him wrong. He even told the other racers that at the meeting. And I commented on how certain people had too much to say to the paying customers who had no ownership rights in the track. Finally, I commented on how there is a difference between a trophy and a towel. All of what i said was true and i deliberately left names out of any of the comments to the extent that i could and still convey the true meaning. It was not until people started to get crappy with me that I started to get crappy back with them. The sad part about it is that many of them got crappy with me in an attempt to defend you, only to find out later that you had been much less of a friend to them than what they thought behind their backs and that the criticism of you was more than justified. Sooner or later you cant help but show your true colors and screw the guys you used and pretended to be friends with. When the no longer serve you best interest or you have used them to get what you want, then they get tossed aside, and worse yet, then become the target of your cheap shots and derogatory comments. You, I wish nothing but failure to go with your looser personality, but to Phil i hope he finds a way to rid himself of you and watch his business thrive the way it would be had he never taken you as a partner. I have heard a lot of the guys at the track say nothing but bad things about you, your arrogant attitude, and stunts you have pulled, but most of them seam to have respect for Phil. I have to agree with them and your postings are going a long way to prove them right wallyworld 07-17-2003, 12:44 AM Your motives are all to clear. What you say and think means nothing to me. I welcome views from RC racers. Hopefully you'll let the Ft. Wayne RC car racers have their thread back someday. This is my first and final response to you. redbaron 07-17-2003, 02:02 AM OK guys, enough of this. I can understand all of your complaints. Did anyone ever think all the crap we are posting on here, makes us look like a bunch of bickering babies. I bet that will really help turnouts...NOT. This forum is for positive thoughts and ideas. its not a punching bag. I think all of us have heard enough crap talk. while I don't agree on alot of things that have happened, I also don't complain on the net. If you guys want to complain email the track....don't take out a full page ad in the sunday paper.......I only read the comics anyway. Part of all competition is SPORTSMANSHIP. redbaron 07-17-2003, 02:08 AM maybe all those who really want things to be better could prove it and delete all the down things they posted. possibly that's a way you can show the owners you really care about our track, and want things to change... wallyworld 07-17-2003, 03:47 AM Hey Tennesee. If I come to your meeting can I wear my coonskin cap and bring my moonshine. YEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAA Ya'll sheath 07-17-2003, 10:21 AM I am reviewing all my posts, and will delete any and all that are negative. I urge everyone else to do the same, as Redbaron said. I emailed Hank, the person that runs the Hobbytalk boards, last week, and he told me that he would close this thread on my request. I plan to make that request, but only after I am a little more confident that the new one I start in it's place will not return to the same thing. All this is yesterday's news. We had a meeting, changes were made, and I am moving forward. Maybe not all the changes everyone would like to see, but changes that the majority agreed with. I thought we had moved on. OK, I reviewed this post, and that last part was a little negative... it's gone. Off to review all my posts............ kgwomack 07-17-2003, 12:53 PM Scott, I agree that this tread is negative alot. I know that I helped, but my intention was not to just complain, but to see changes made. Sometimes airing all the things people say behind closed doors, helps things move forward. I know that I helped stir the pot. If that makes things better, then I achieved my goal. I am just as sick of how things are, as everyone else is. But, all of the behind the scene complaining doesn't help either. Now that I have said my peace, I won't bring it up again, you all know how I feel. This is not personnal, I JUST WANT TO RACE. BenPuterbaugh 07-17-2003, 12:56 PM I agree; airing things out here on the forum serves a purpose. It puts it out there for everybody to see. That way its not this word of mouth thing where 2 interpretations come out of each conversation. BenPuterbaugh 07-17-2003, 01:00 PM I welcome views from RC racers. By racers do you mean the guys who have been racing 15+ years and show up and support the track and setup the track, used to roll carpet, design the track, race at Cleveland and other national events and out of state clubs; or you and 'everyone' you always confer with? HOLDING MY OWN 07-17-2003, 02:10 PM driverx, whats goin on anything new??? whats goin on this weekend?? DriverX 07-17-2003, 02:36 PM not much terry and I are not racing this weekend due to the money issue again and terry talked to lee morrison and he did not think that terry could get in two qualifyers(sp) with the number of people also with 35 bucks per class so 70 bucks for me too much for a hog roast no payback so not a big deal we will take a weekend off and go flying and come over and watch/help out on sunday. I know you want us to go. sorry I will be working friday so if you need anything stop in. bring your check book (tires/rims x 2) later oh I deleted all my posts from this thread. HOLDING MY OWN 07-17-2003, 04:15 PM driverx, ya i dont think im going either, i would only be able to run gas truck, you know diff is out of the 1/8... im going to take a break as well, and work on the house this weekend... i need to start to practice with electric i might start to go to indy or something, well mark to i guess, how about you, going to start running 1/10 buggy :dude: HOLDING MY OWN 07-17-2003, 04:41 PM hey redbaron , do you plan on doing much racing at marks(r/c barn)??? or pretty much just indy???? redbaron 07-17-2003, 04:44 PM HMO...... mostly indy, larger turnout! wallyworld 07-17-2003, 04:45 PM Ben, what that means I am willing to listen to any RC racer who is willing to appoach me and express their views and opinion in a somewhat respectful manner. This is the way I have always been and the way I am going to remain. When that new racer pays his entry fee to race or do anything else to help out the raceway he is welcome to express himself about any concerns. wallyworld 07-17-2003, 04:50 PM Good luck this weekend redbaren! redbaron 07-17-2003, 05:29 PM thanks wally HOLDING MY OWN 07-17-2003, 05:40 PM REDBARON, WELL ATLEAST I CAN SPELL YOUR NAME RIGHT, ABOUT INDY COUNT ME IN, IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKENDS, IVE GOT TO GET RUNNIN ELECTRIC, ALOT OF BIG RACES COMING UP, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN??? vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
