View Full Version : New Off Road Track in Fort Wayne airborn 06-29-2004, 07:59 PM that is if you want to meet me there and see what can be changed. seth airborn 06-29-2004, 08:01 PM I can be there wed night too if you want to do that? seth C. Oldfield 06-30-2004, 07:42 AM John, I can be there on thursday with a skid loader so we can put some doubles at the end of the half oval... and also to do any other changes we want. seth Why slow down the only part of the track that you can use your speed to pass with more jumps? cory30 06-30-2004, 07:55 AM I Agree Chris, you have to have one fast corner. redbaron 06-30-2004, 11:00 AM Sounds like we need to talk about a new Layout. I was planning on improving the current layout to have less breakage , just kinda tweeking it a little. We should plan on a layout change in about 4 weeks or so, but until then most guys might want to keep the current layout in so they can perfect there setup. Except for Karl, he don't know what setup is...Ha! Just kidding C. Oldfield 06-30-2004, 07:26 PM John, I think your right, the track is good the way it is. It just need some work in some spots. But like I said, I would like to see that first corrner left alone. redbaron 06-30-2004, 07:46 PM If anyone can help Friday at 6pm. I think we should fill in between 2 and 3 of the trips. fill in a little between 2,3 of the rythem section and make the table top better tafog 07-01-2004, 11:57 PM NOTrips!! man I think with them you have to choose, go for it or not..(not going for it and not crashing is way faster than crashing) maybe reface it a little more and fill in the rythem section or add to it, that area is kind of rough for most..but I think we could also help the trip's if we had more of a straight run up to it most people I see are hitting that with to much of an angle from the table top, this is causing them to lift or worse yet angle off the track. lifting to make the turn really hurts when trying to hit the trips and make it smooth. my 2 cents what ever is done is cool. I will be there to "bust that truck out" this weekend XXX-Fan 07-02-2004, 01:24 AM redbaron, You sure MF2 stock setup is pretty good? On my first version if i remember right, yellow springs were needed in rear. New truck that much different that reds all around work? Just wondering. If I can get body painted, I will be there Saturday! What time does everything start? Thanks, Randy cory30 07-02-2004, 07:49 AM the triples are easy,if you can't clear it SLOW DOWN! the same with all the other sections, sometimes slower is faster. my 3 cents redbaron 07-02-2004, 12:49 PM redbaron, You sure MF2 stock setup is pretty good? On my first version if i remember right, yellow springs were needed in rear. New truck that much different that reds all around work? Just wondering. If I can get body painted, I will be there Saturday! What time does everything start? Thanks, Randy I have ran 2 packs thru mine. setup works good. I haven't tried the kit tires though. yea, on the old truck we ran yellow springs. The MF2 has a different rear piviot. we have been running stiffer springs on the BK2 also. Track opens at 9am racing at 12 noon. redbaron 07-02-2004, 12:50 PM maybe me can meet at the track tonite and discuss the triples? XXX-Fan 07-02-2004, 04:14 PM Cool, thanks for info. I am hoping to get things in order to be back some time early august. maybe with some new equip. cory r call me dude I cant get thru. redbaron 07-07-2004, 10:23 AM How was the turn out this weekend? Also what changes if any were made to the track? Chris, Turn out was good considering it was a holiday weekend. We didn't get a chance to to any track work on friday cause I had to work late. I think we should just do some jump maintenance on race days and plan a layout change in the near future. It would be nice to do a total layout change and improve drainage at the same time. You gonna race this weekend? C. Oldfield 07-08-2004, 07:16 AM John, You or Dale let me know when to be there and I will help with the layout change, and yes I will be there this weekend. otto_3478s 07-09-2004, 01:40 AM names are 4 for $8.00. you coming saturday? Hi there Tim!!!!! It is you!!! otto_3478s 07-09-2004, 07:10 PM .... nate 07-11-2004, 12:51 AM Turnout was great today and the racing very intense. Congrats to Austin who made 4 consecutive 14 lap runs today in 2w stock. That's a record that may never be beat. sheath 07-11-2004, 04:30 PM Nate, Are you using a metal gear servo in your B4? I stripped the plastic gears on my second servo in 2 weeks now. How about servo saver advice for the B4? Every had any problems with yours? nate 07-11-2004, 06:46 PM Scott, No, I'm using a composite gear servo from Hitec. I think your problem may be with the spring in the steering rack. There are two tensions available and you may have the HD one installed. Considering your B4 was tricked out when you bought it, it probably has one installed. I broke a standard servo too when I used the HD spring. I put the original spring back in had no problems since. I think you have to use a stronger servo if you want to use the HD spring. I would pick up an original spring from Nick's and see how that fares. sheath 07-11-2004, 10:31 PM Nate, Sounds good... I'll pick up a new stock spring. Oddly enough, when I got the car and disassembled it to clean it and check it all out, It seemed that the installed servo saver was glued together. I broke the arm with the ball stud in it when I tried to separate the two parts. scorgon 07-12-2004, 11:25 AM Nate, Sounds good... I'll pick up a new stock spring. Oddly enough, when I got the car and disassembled it to clean it and check it all out, It seemed that the installed servo saver was glued together. I broke the arm with the ball stud in it when I tried to separate the two parts. Scott, it probably was glued. I had a nitro guy tell me to glue mine when it kept comming loose. I never did just tightened the screws with loc tight. I know that plastic gear servos will go in a truck even if the saver isn't tightened all the way down. A buggy is lighter and maybe able to get away with it as long as the servo saver isn't set tight, then steering will be sloppy, and you won't be able to work your buggy off a tube. B4Bomber 07-13-2004, 11:19 PM Hope to see everyone soon. When I get my stuff I will be headed there to race!!!!!!!!!!!! sheath 07-16-2004, 10:39 AM Don't forget, this Saturday, July 17, the Three Rivers Festival Offroad Bash. Prizes will be awarded, but the entry fee is the same as the weekly racing fee. Practice at 9:00 AM, racing at Noon. adonovan 07-19-2004, 04:37 PM How was the racing this last Sat. for the TRF? I have been laid up in the hospital for the past week and was unable t make it out to the track. Back home now. Let me know how the racing was. tafog 07-19-2004, 11:53 PM I think that the results should be posted on the web site now. but the racing was good 10 buggys and 12 or 14 trucks all stock, lots of good racing. Red barron 1st in buggy and Karl in the trucks. glad to hear you are out of the hospital. see ya at the track.. Tracey B4Bomber 07-20-2004, 07:30 PM Hey guys, I just got my B4 onTuesday. I was going to go racing on Saturday but I had some plans already for Saturday. And I also found out the stock ESC can only take a 18 turn motor at the most, so I will have to wait to get a new ESC, probably a GT7, which will most likely be at the end of the week because I get paid then. Cya soon!, Chris sheath 07-20-2004, 08:04 PM B4Bomber, Your ESC should be fine for the stock class, if that's all that's keeping you from racing right now. Stock 27 turn motors are well within the 18 turn limit. sheath 07-22-2004, 03:50 PM Your race director for the Indiana Outdoor Offroad Championships on August 14, will be Greg June. You may know Greg from Indy's Major Taylor Velodrome Fun Runs, the Velodrome Nationals and PDX Racing. Greg will be running the show on race day. cory30 07-23-2004, 10:38 PM After 2 rounds Austin Barron is qualified 2nd in junior buggy at the stock nats. nate 07-23-2004, 11:27 PM Cory, Scott, Seth...............
