Looks like I will. Brian Millard is in too, working on Mergy and Womack. Everybody wants to try the off-road thing and support the track, for me it's matter of what class makes the most sense from a fun/cost standpoint. Looks to be pretty economical as well, I can get the conversion kit and a body for about $60. I will be able to get this deal for anyone who is interested as well to help get the class started. Really you probably don't even need the 200 mm arms or the body(you could run a worn out carpet season body), bare minimum you need the tires and the shock springs(soft) and maybe the shock shafts to get enough ground clearance, so going really cheap it would cost $22 for 4 tires and rims(my cost), $8 for springs(or run silvers= $0) & $5 for shock shafts. I think within the first few weeks of the track operating I'll be ready to take it for a spin.

it will be a blast to see some rally 4wd cars on the track lol ......

i think you may have to drive slow thru the triple jump and doubles leading to the back straight ... but if you had a lil more shock travel you never know ...

This week brought what looked as a rain threaten day, but the rain held off. Their was a total of 30 race entrees. The track looked great and the cars flyn' high, Laws Airlines was landing the triples in gas truck and Sult was setting the pace in the Electric and Gas Truck qualifiers. All was close racing. I had to leave before the mains I'm sure that I missed out. I know that there will be more competition for the up coming race this weekend. Hope to see ya.

First Race went well. I think everyone had a good time. It's about time Fort Wayne racers got to race at a great racing facility without having to drive 2 hours! I heard alot of car kits were sold on sunday. betcha we got one big novice class this week.......The track was exellent!..... there are not to many outdoor tracks with Dirt this good. Thank you Aaron for running a great opening day race. He had several problems that were handled very well!

We try to water the Track consistantly for everyone. The first race only took a slight watering and a broom between rounds.... I think most racers will crap when they see how well developed this surface is. It is one of the most consistant outdoor surfaces I've seen.......hopefully things will only improve as we go along.

the stock one suck they are easily worn out on dirt that soft minee are slicks practialry and i need a new front brace and bumper

Another great day of offroad racing on Sunday. I had a great time my first time out for the season. The results are posted on the website. Don't forget the Summit Raceway Grand Opening trophy race on Saturday, June 6th. Entries will be limited to the first 100, so sign up early and often. Details also on the website.
Also a scheduling note... from now on, the weekly Sunday offroad races will begin at Noon rather than 1 PM.

If you're looking to enter the trophy race on June 7th, make sure they know, otherwise they may assume you mean the next race, which is regular club racing this Sunday, June 1st.

They can tell you if they can take your entries over the phone or by email or here on the message board. If not, they will tell you how and when to sign up.

I don't have the details on the nitro deal. I heard that on monday the track was informed that the nitro made too much noise and couldn't run anymore. Hopefully the track will post some sort of statement to let us know the official word on this.

I have part of the story, but have hesitated to post anything in case I got some of the facts wrong. I will try to get the straight scoop and post an explanation Tuesday if possible.

Apologys for the no nitro situation. We will do our best to make this as temperary as possible. I think everybody had a great time sunday with lots of close racing along with a major wheely by Spung Bob down the entire straightaway :jest: . This saturday is our grand opening with trophies to be given away to the top three in each class and gift certificates for the top qualifiers for each class. Come join us for a great time. :hat: Also I finally got my XXX4 ( Nicks Hobby Shop has em for $250 with taxes included and $24 worth of free racing included. I'll definately be runnng it this saturday. :thumbsup: Glad to see we're running mod's in these things, can't wait to blow by that wanker from Tenesee!!!!

Offroad Racing

To celebrate the opening of their outdoor offroad track, Summit Raceway is holding a Grand Opening Trophy Race on Saturday June 7th. The track opens at 9:00 for practice, with racing beginning at noon. All racers will run 3 qualifiers and a main.
Electric classes - novice truck or buggy, modified buggy, stock truck and modified 4wd
No Nitro classes,Sorry
Entry fees for the first class is $20 and $10 for each additional class (limit 3 entries per person). The total number of entries will be limited to 100, so enter early and often. Rain date is Sunday, June 8th.

No Stock Buggy? That kinda stinks.. Now We will have all The good Drivers in the Novic's truck or stock.. Will there be Waight rules? we need to put some kinda rules on the Novics Class! Just my 2 cents
