For all you that wanted the DIRT OVAL,where were you today? The off-road track was shortened to put the oval in and not one single oval car there today.Being a off-road guy this is a little upsetting. That's all I have to say!

Beautiful day for racing. Off road track was not as easy as it looks. Certainly keeps you on your toes. All we need now is for everyone to come out and join in! I agree with cory30 regarding the dirt oval. Perhaps travel plans for Mother's Day kept some away but next week lets hope the turnout improves.

guess there is too many ovals to choose from now...school yard, velodrome, advance, summit...hope they don't all race on the same day.

Opening day, May 1, was rained out. The forecast looked questionable on the days before May 8, so I think it kept some people away. It turned out to be a great day of racing. This weeks forecast is again a little iffy, but I encourage people to come out anyway. The revamped track handles rain great. After all night showers earlier this week, I stopped by at lunch time the next day to take a look, and the track was in great shape. No standing water, no mud... looked to be ready to run on right then.
Track is open at 9 AM, racing at Noon this, and every Saturday. I haven't made it out to race personally yet, due to family events, but hope to as soon as possible.

i WAS A LITTLE BUMMED THAT WE DID NOT GET TO RUN OVAL ON SAT, AND I AM NOT A OVAL GUY BUT WHEN I STARTED RUNNING MY RALLY SET UP CAR AROUND THE DIRT TRACK IT STARTED TO GET ME EXCITED ABOUT OVAL. I HOPE WE GET TO RUN IT THIS WEEK.

The thing I don't understand is there were enough guys there to run one heat of oval and no one did.

If nobody show's for oval in the coming weeks, you take out the oval, put in a nice some what technical off-road track lots jumps and turns. Then start the show on time and they will come.

just my thought,
Cory

Mr. boggs, how are you

I must agree with cory. the track needs to do what is gonna bring racers. if oval is gonna flop then turn it back into offroad. granted I have not been up to race yet but I will want to start hittin the dirt in the next couple of weeks. yes the races need to be more scheduled for time. if we are to start at noon then start at that time. I will be willing to help as much as I can when I come up to race just as I did last year but I am not gonna bust my hump to get an hour late start and wait 3-4 mins between races. lets set a time and stick to it.

remember there was enough oval racers to justify messing up a great off-road track...guess they forgot they were supposed to show up and race..

Starting this saturday sign-ups will end at 11:30 am. Anyone signing in after that will miss the first round of qualifying. If for some reason you can't make it early enough you are welcome to call in and we will sign-up for you. We will need your frequency number and personal transponder number if you have one. This and other things are being done to make certain we start the races on time. Centari 5000 you are right, if we say the racing is to start at noon we have a responsability to do just that.

[QUOTE=XXX-Fan]What tires seem to work on the offroad track? I have a T4 and would like to come over and race with you guys.

Tires that seem to work the best are, Losi Red IFMAR's or Proline Holeshots on the rear. Losi Directionals or Proline Edge on the front.

xxx-fan,
Holeshots in the rear and directional ribs in the front is a good starting setup. The track is hardpacked clay.

Not bad... see Red, I learned a little last summer.
By the way, I have completely forgotten where to start with gearing for my XXXT. Where would I start with a Monster stock?

Scott,
16/86 all day long! Red springs on motor...not Blue

05-13-2004, 01:30 PM
John,
Thanks. So it's red springs in the Losi, and if I would run it in an Associated it would be blue springs, right? ;) he he he.

I ran the truck last night at home with an MVP in it, and on a guess, went with a 20/86. Seemed to run strong and didn't get too hot. I knew I couldn't gear a monster that high.

20/86 sounds like oval gearing. :drunk:

I am not gonna do any bashin or a thing like that we did have a pretty good truck turn out yesterday. i just want to know where all the oval guys are. the owners put in the oval cause there was some intrest in it. so where are these guys at now. dale and phil plus some of the local racers put in their time to make the dirt oval happen and noone seems to overly interested in runnin on it. I am gonna be truthful here I did not agree with the oval but after some decussions with a couple people i kinda thought it would work out. it has got to be gut wrenchin to the owner to see people ask for something and when they get it blow it off and turn thier backs. I for one do not want to see the track in fort wayne go under but cant see things moving in the right direction if we dont get some racers out there.

Well here we go again. Everyone is whinning again, or should I say still. Come on John, there is an offroad track here. Maybe it's not perfect, but its an offroad track. Does it really matter if part of it is an oval, everyone races on the same track. Its the same for everyone. True racers race on whatever track there is. Just because the track is not exactly the way they want it, doesn't mean that they don't show up to race. In Nascar there are guys that don't like Talladega, or that don't like Martinsville. But they still race there. They work on it, and get better. Anyone that knows me, has heard me say that I don't care what we race as long as we race. I am not a big oval fan, but I ran it this last year indoor, why because alot of people were doing it, and I just want to race. It doesn't really matter what form of racing. I'm not much into offroad either, but last year I bought a MF truck because it looked fun, not because the track was a certain way. My favorite class is Touring you all know that. But I'll run other classes, and other tracks, ( Even if they aren't the perfect track.) because it WILL make me a better racer overall. So all you so called racers out there, that are waiting for the perfect track go ahead. I'll run on the not so perfect tracks, hone my skills, learn new stuff. Then I'll show up at your perfect tracks and kick your a**es. but if we aren't careful we all won't have to worry about the track layout because there won't be one. We ALL need to support the track, and give credit were credit is due. Dale and Phil have done alot. Everyone talks about supporting them if they do this or do that. Where are they now? At the lake maybe. Don't ask Dale or Phil to spend money on changes that you all don't support.

Honestly, I hate all this contravercy. I just want to race and have a good time. I know we all can't be at the track every week. But all this talk about not showing up because the track is not a certain way. COME ON GUYS

Karl.

I will be out running the races and racing Saturday. So come on down, may the a** kicking commence.

In Nascar there are guys that don't like Talladega, or that don't like Martinsville. But they still race there.

If they had to race those tracks every week I would bet they would race somewhere else. They only race there because it is a points championship and they have to race there...

Scorgon,............Points, points, they race because they like to race. There would be no Talladega or Martinsville if were just because of points. Its still a racetrack, and people show up to race. Oh, John it was not just directed towards you. But,what do you mean Paul come up and show these guys? What about you? Are you scared. Do you need someone else to show us? I thought you were the MAN.

Oh, if it helps turnout GREAT.

Also, I know I'm not the man in the dirt. but it'll be fun.
