I remember these, and went looking for some info. I think Bob K. at Phil's Lake avenue store used to run them on cars back when he ran at the old Summit Speedway on Lima Rd.

The 'boat antenna' description refers to surface model receivers, so I would assume they could be used for cars and trucks as well. If you click on 'pricing' on the one or two piece antenna description, it refers to 72/75 MHz, but not 27 MHz.

The way I fixed my antenna tube oncein my 1989 Tamiya Hornet was, I CA glued it to the chassis, and it aint still come..... :freak:

Donovan ......Know i know why you never win a race .....you should not to be using CA glue for comm drops ,bushing lube, or diff lube .....no matter how many times jason tell you that is is a "speed secret"....I also heard you CA glued your hornet to your back side and ran the car around the track for your first win ever........lol....just joking with ya!!!!!

ovalrookie As I remember it I was in position to win my first race then you hacked me into the tubes.......... I still havnt won my first race. Fergie, That wouldn't suprise me about Deiter leaving Trinity. Tony Stewart and Jim were talking alot in December at the Planet. Speaking of the Planet a group of the Summit guys, including myself are headed to the Planet this weekend to kick some off-road butt. about 10 of us will rule at Indy.

Depending on what classes and what time dirt oval starts Fort Wayne might feel the thunder of the KGF guy........Gonna try to do the dirt slingin thing.......it has been almost 10 years since I slung dirt.......but I'm willing to try anything to keep me out of trouble!!!!!!!!!

Why are you asking us Krisfo? Your the race director for the Fort. The last I looked this is an Off-road thread, any intrest in oval racing should be made in writting, placed in a office size envelope and mailed to some one who cares.

might just as well make this a dirt oval thread, isn't off-road dead in the fort? off-road can't be much fun with an oval around it.

Any interest?I don't think the rally conversion will be needed, the oval will be very smooth from what I understand. Basically just some softer springs and oil, the tires will give the ground clearance required. No rally body required either. But yeah I think there will be a lot of interest in this class.

Hello every body! I know i told some of you i wouldn't get back on here but i just wanted to say i have my SUPER HORNET finished! I'd raced it last sat. does pretty good on off road. im supprised it kept up with the Bk2's and kicked those b4's butts, ready to do it some more.

I have news for those interested in it. There's a only run once (wrecked often) BK2 for sale and xxxtmf truck for sale, and everything off-road for sale. Our very own Jason Lash is going oval racing only this year. You can watch him at the Fort, and at the Velodrome and any where oval this summer. He finally has gotten his full time ride, new car, new team and all around new man. Jason asked me to post that he'll miss all of you weird, sun starved off-roaders. But is looking foward to hanging out with burnt oval guys instead. He wanted me to pass on that off-road is just to easy for him, and he is looking for a new challenge in life. At this time I am not at liberty to say, you know contracts have to be signed, and the details have to be worked out. But what I can say is that Redbaron spilled it with his picture, if you look real hard you'll see Jason's new team captain.....

As May fast approches just a few short days away's. Some of us have been into off-road already at other places. But others are still waiting to pull the trigger in anger for the first time this year. What we all are woundering is when does Summit Raceway open for practice??? What has been decided about the racing schedule, Sat? Sun? We all are wanting to know. Weather your thing is oval or off-road come out to Summit and give it a shot. Its still Summit Raceway/ Nick's Hobbyshop. Remember when Summit Raceway first opened? It was the first time in a long time that there was an r/c track in Fort Wayne. Everyone came out and had fun all summer long, thats what it's all about, having fun with your freinds. Summit is only in it's second year of business and all business's take time. How do you know you wont like the new track layout if you dont try it. That's all that Summit ask's of you, that you come on out and give it a try.

The track will be open for practice Saturday the 24th. weather permitting. I think most, if not all of the lane tubes are down, and it looks in great shape. The schedule for racing will be Saturdays at noon, beginning May 1st. The May race calendar is now up on the website, and will be available at the track as soon as I get there after work tonight (Friday Apr. 23rd.) to drop the copies off.

I'm itching to launch a truck off the big jump myself, and see where I can set it down.

That sounds great I'll talk to my team captian and see when he will want to race in fort wayne. My schedule is kind of screwed up becuase of the new sponser ship, of course. I'll talk to every body later.

Stopped by the track today and helped a little bit in getting ready for opening day on the May 1. After seeing the track in its finished state I certainly felt the offroad portion was not comprimised as much as everybody (myself included) thought it might. After watching a couple guys run their trucks on the layout today it looked very fun and a change of pace from the tracks that stress your car and your wallet. Yes the layout is certainly one with high speed in mind however more technical sections can easily be added down the road to satisfy the veterans. Although I will still make trips to other tracks this summer I look forward to racing in Fort Wayne as often as I can. Hope everybody gets a chance to make it Fort Wayne and enjoy some great racing.
