I was asked to post this note (if you have looked outside, you know what it is)... there will be no track work night tonight (Tuesday). It is being moved to Thursday night. Anyone that is free and would like to help out, stop by Thursday.

On a side note, the trophies for the Indiana Outdoor Electric Off-Road Championships are in, and on display at the raceway. Take a look when you stop by. Less than 2 weeks to go!

I'm sorry I can't make it on thursday. I just thought I could lend some Ideas. Remove the last of the triples. add to the table top that is after the triples so their is some down slope (landing). Take the doubles before the straight and add that dirt to the corner before the rythm section. make the rythm section a small set of trips that you can single-double etc. Smooth out the corners at the start and end of the straight.

we had some fun and action in stock classes today had some people pull a little sumtin out of thier hat to take a win (TIM) what up with that

Great weather for the stock classes. The forecast early in the week had me worried, but it all turned out good. Hope it holds out for modified on Sunday. See ya there.

Hey fellers! Had a great time, and the track was awesome.....even though some had the notion to FLOOD the track before each qualifier....we gots to cut them boyz off somewheres!! :D ....track had awesome traction, and I believe was really great for racing because you didn't have to constantly fight to stay alive, but really turn in some perfect laps in order to stay on top. It's much more fun in my opinion to race other people, instead of worrying about staying alive because of the track. Maybe next season will get better turnouts with more people learning about the track.

From rumors I've heard, Joe's (R/C World of Indiana) may not be open any more.....as in closed down for good. I don't know if this is true or not, but certainly caught my attention, as I "grew up" running at Joe's for several years before I started traveling around more to different tracks around the region. I ran on Wednesday nights as well as Sundays both indoor and outdoor religiously for quite some time, and I even picked up my first sponsor at Joe's (Wimpy/Gonzo....Lee Morrison makes some FAST motors and batts). Again, I don't know if this is true, but sad if it is.

Some good news I just recieved for myself.....even though I'm going to Chi-town next weekend, I should be back Saturday night, and will be able to make the trip back up to Summit to run mod next Sunday! :thumbsup: .....all you guys come on back out, and bring all the horsepower you gots!!

Yeah, I'll be there. I want to work on getting a good outdoor setup for my car still. Never got enough time to run at Joe's to find the setup even though I was getting closer, but still trying to figure the car out on more loose type low bite tracks. It's not that Summit is low bite though, it's just that it is compared to tracks like Planet and CRCRC.

Summit seems like it would be even more fun to run in mod.

The truck is built, painting the body now. XXX4 is ready to go for Sunday! I'm sure it will need tweaked. Bringing the Lazer out to play? Someday we'll have to get a vintage class and I'll bring out the optima mid and see how long it lasts with a 10 single.

Early may. Look for a honkin big fast oval going around the outside.

Turning left and right with a few jumps is more fun than just turning left. Sounds like a offroad track near me wouldn't open this year. I was hoping to find a new home track for offroad racing.

I think you guys misunderstand what's happening with the track. The dirt will be reworked into a dirt oval, but the entire infield will still make up the jumps and turns of the offroad. The offroad track will incorporate the infield and parts of the oval track to make up the entire offroad course. The last turn, backstretch and first turn of the current offroad track is basically half an oval right now.
The offroad track is definately NOT going away. No worries there. This may seem unusual, but the old Summit Speedway on highway 3 north of Ft. Wayne, had an indoor track and 2 different outdoor tracks, and they were all constructed this way. In recent years, dirt oval racing has been nowhere to be found, so if you raced on dirt, you raced offroad, on a track that was strictly offroad.
Don't let anyone tell you there will be no offroad track, it's just not true.
