View Full Version : New Off Road Track in Fort Wayne
sheath 08-05-2003, 10:05 AM Good morning all! I'm relaying a message from Dale... he's having some problems getting the home computer to cooperate this morning. Phil will be at the track at 5:00 PM with a Bobcat to work on the track tonight. (Tuesday, Aug 5th). The main focus will be to rework the short straight in the infield to get it to drain properly after a heavy rain. (is there any other kind in Ft. Wayne this summer?) Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Changing the general track layout will also be looked at. Bring your ideas and suggestions.
redbaron 08-05-2003, 10:21 AM Hey Scott! when u gonna race?
Has anyone seen the track? How wet is it? will the Bobcat sink?
centari5000 08-05-2003, 10:32 AM hey jason depending on how soon u need it i could help you out on that truck body,I am dyin to paint another. you supply the paint. oh, any contrabutions you would like to donate would be fine too. lol

sheath 08-05-2003, 10:32 AM Redbaron, I plan on racing this Saturday. Not sure how the track looks today. If we get that one area filled in and draining properly, we should be able to race even during monsoon season. The rest of the track handles rain great.
HOLDING MY OWN 08-05-2003, 11:31 AM jason lash,
if your serious about needing that body painted, let me know rob could paint it for you!!! i have his number.. remember you seen some of his work at riders last friday!!! let me know...

Don't know which Dale you are talking to. This Dale has to judge small motors contest (4-H Ohio State Fair) at Columbus, Ohio this saturday. Next saturday stock and mod truck if there enough for mod truck. By them I need to leave off a little steam. :)
DriverX 08-05-2003, 05:02 PM hmmm? driver not motor, funny with a slow motor or fast motor the driver makes them all look fast. driver wins over the motor any day that the race is more than one lap and last I looked we all ran more than one lap.
practice practice practice practice practice practice :D :D

HOLDING MY OWN 08-06-2003, 02:44 PM What Changes Were Made To The Track Last Night???
DriverX 08-06-2003, 05:36 PM not much of a change, as far as layout but they look to have the water problem taken care of. Now what they did do was add a big table top turn in the infield and extend the approch(sp) to the dubble before the straight to help with that jump, other than that it remains the same.
wallyworld 08-07-2003, 01:40 AM How about a bullseye target at the end of the tabletop for Thom. :drunk: Sorry Thom, I just couldn't resist.
wallyworld 08-07-2003, 01:43 AM Nathan and I will be at the track thurs. and fri. if anybody wants to stop out and help.
wallyworld 08-08-2003, 06:16 AM Phil and I would like to thank the guys that came out to help on the track thursday. Looks to me the surface in the middle is going to be a lot higher grip now and a little tighter. Hopefully we can start on the jumps soon. By the way Thom, we'll have the vaccum ready for you.
EMK68 08-08-2003, 11:13 AM this is tim now thom is now tourring !!

sheath 08-09-2003, 10:23 AM As of 9:00 AM Saturday Aug 9th, a quick shower just passed thru, but the track is still in good condition. Racing is expected to go on as planned! See you there.
redbaron 08-09-2003, 09:48 PM WE WANT JUMPS,WE WANT JUMPS,WE WANT JUMPS,WE WANT JUMPS,WE WANT JUMPS,
Let Me Hear Ya Now!
redbaron 08-09-2003, 09:50 PM Dale+Mod Motor= 4wd haulin....Oh yea!
centari5000 08-09-2003, 09:53 PM I would like to apologize to everyone who raced at summit raceway saturday. I was very rude and said somethings outloud that I should not have said. Those who heard me now what I am talking about. Phil,Dale and Scott do a heck of a job to keep things goin there, and everyone helps to keep things goin smooth.
Again, I am sorry for my attitude saturday, no excuses just aggravation.
Thank you
Harry Boggs
redbaron 08-09-2003, 10:14 PM I think the scoring set back we had and the turn marshall shortage took its toll. I have spoke to Dale and a few others and those problems will be fixed.
We also spoke about changing some of the jumps to make it more fun.
Thanks Harry for chillin. u racin next sat?
redbaron 08-09-2003, 10:15 PM Scott wants a TRUCK!
redbaron 08-09-2003, 11:50 PM Truck!truck!truck!truck!
sheath 08-09-2003, 11:53 PM Yeah, I should make a list of the extra R/C stuff in my garage, and see who wants to buy some of it. Pull myself in to the 21st century!! If I sell enough stuff, maybe I'll buy a XXX4 too. Who knows? I could retire the Kyosho Lazer. But you know what they say... the cheapest car you'll ever own is the one you own now.
When is a T4 going to show up on the shelf at Nick's?
cory30 08-09-2003, 11:58 PM Baron,
Trucks? You need to run your truck. The more the merrier.
Cory R.
redbaron 08-10-2003, 12:04 AM MOD TRUCK OHhhhh YEA!
Scott
don't xxx4 do T4 in about a week
Just bring the old stuff to the track and see who wants it.
sheath 08-10-2003, 12:06 AM I've got a JRXT with the old 5-link suspension in the garage. It would be the perfect old skool companion to the Lazer. It Summit ever holds a nostalgia race, I got things covered.
I got my cousin's Frog I could put back together too.... now that's old skool.
sheath 08-10-2003, 12:11 AM Baron,
Yeah you're right. Get the T4, a couple of good battery packs, maybe a mod motor... well maybe after I run the truck a couple of times. You know, a half hour ago, I wasn't all that fired up about a truck, but now look at me.
redbaron 08-10-2003, 12:12 AM Scott dust it off, put a sticker on it= $
the cheapest car you'll ever own is the one you own now...... "Don't you mean the slowest car" Ha just kidding.
cory30, Did uget my PM?
sheath 08-10-2003, 12:15 AM Chepest, slowest.... yeah... either one.
Like I said, I need to pull myself into the 21st century.
redbaron 08-10-2003, 12:18 AM Trucks are fun! You can run them anywhere. Trucks are always the Largest class in offroad. If u got battery to run 4wd u got enough to run truck.
wallyworld 08-10-2003, 01:03 AM Yeah trucks are fun. Mod or stock. Usually the most entertaining to watch too. I didn't think Tony looked to shabby today, and I noticed a lot of the new guys out there were running a good clean line which means we're going to be in for a lot of close and exciting racing in the future in that class! Hey Redbaren, Puttin that 11t mod in that 4wd bug was a real walk on the wild side! :D The first couple of times around the track totally blew me away, especially when I poured the coals to it on the straightaway. Thanks for the help this week on the track guys. Oh by the way, congratulations to all the winners today ( yeah, you to Thom  ).
centari5000 08-10-2003, 08:56 AM hey redbaron I will be up late saturday but will not be racin, I got an 8 hr med. class for work I have to take on saturday. See ya'll sat.
Harry B
