In my best Tom Carnegie voice, "It's a new track record!" for the Maverick at Fastlane. Tweaked rollout some, cleaned out the motor, no chassis adjustments the car was just stuck :)

Jeff: We typically run full width rear tires, with the left side tucked all the way in to the pod, and the right side with two shims. Like Burbs said, some guys have been carefully carving away a little carbon on the pod to pull the left rear in even further .... Do it with care and be sure to CA the edges.

Cbear: Congrats on the new track record! Keep puttin' that '05 up front!

Oops, posted to quickly .. missed a few on the previous page!

Marty: Nice work on your first outing with the Maverick! Lapping the field is always a good feeling! Post up, or e-mail me, if you have setup questions for you loose off ... And let us know who the Mini Mav runs!

Comp: Check the website for all the setups. www.swiftracingproducts.com (http://www.swiftracingproducts.com)

I'd also like to congratulate Eric Albano and Eric Wildt for clinching their classes in our local series (with one race still to be run). The GP Club hosts a summer long series, and the competition can be very good at times. Eric Albano often had a C-main deep fields in 4 Cell Stock to contend with, and came out on top more often than not to get his first Club Championship. He's 11 years old and a very good wheelman!

Eric Wildt was last years 4 Cell Stock Champ, and has backed it up with a Spec-19 Championship this season. The field wasn't as deep, but the level of competition was strong. Eric kept up consistent finishes all year on his way to a back-to-back Championship season.

Congrats guys!

DW and I have been running our cars middle in the rear, a little further forward than middle in the front and leading the left by .030. This wheelbase has been working well for us.

SDL: You can have you local hobby shop contact us. Or, follow the link Burbs posted and we'll take great care of you. If you have questions, please e-mail me at: JPHRacing001@aol.com

What does that wheelbase end up measuring then ? I'm guessing at least 10.5" ??

yeah jeff your right.. For some reason i thought i had a diff setup on the site..I had another setup i thought i sent jake for carpet.. the one one there is the fast one.. The one on the swift site for carpet as you posted is for the triclone indoor.. It was a 65 lap setup.. only myself , corey, and grif hit 65 last year in stock..

I would follow the setup to the T.. it worked killer right out of the box,.. I built the car the night before the race threw it down and tq'd and won by a full lap.. the carpet there doesnt change much from week to week, so i think it is your best starting point..

You didn't say which body, but I'm assuming a Protoform HD MC.

Thx.

It measures right under 10.5. Small track, big track, doesnt make a difference.

Jake your prototype 12a looks real nice. I am going through rc withdrawals. I still have 68 days before I can think about picking up a remote and then I have family time before that can happen. The good news is that this should be my last deployment in the Navy.

Well, anyone racing this weekend?

I'm off to the Roar Region 12 Carpet Oval Champs in Stockton. DW, AC, and a bunch of other Maverick Racers are gonna be there ... This will be my first time on carpet this season. Last weekend DW hit the carpet for the first time and had a very fast Mod car. I'm hoping for some of the same this weekend!

Post up if you raced and let us know how ya did!

Going to the first carpet race of the season in MP Michigan. Starting out the season with my Maverick 05. Think I'll be the only one with a Maverick (at least for now)...I'm sure that'll change soon. :)

Would you guys recommend the same wheel base /pod position, that was posted a few post up, for flat carpet setup too.

Thanks

RC: Depends on the track size, but yes it's a good starting point. We're racing flat carpet, 167' drive line, this weekend, and that's the wheelbase we'll be running.

Seems like the drive line was around 125'. Can't remember for sure. (damn it sucks getting old....1st my hearing and now my memory) :)

Just curious ...when do you use a short wheelbase and when do you use a longer wheelbase? Any general guidelines?

I finally got my new '05 H.E. on the track Friday night (just a practice night). Although the carpet was green, the car was great right out of the box -- very smooth and consistent. Next Sat. is the first race day at our track. Should be good.

Hey guys, anyone around the northern indiana area should come check out Michiana Radio Control Raceway. I'd love to see some more oval guys come out. We race on Friday nights. Right now it's mostly just 6 cell stock, but there are a couple interested in 4 cell stock/19T including myself. Here is a link to the site. www.michianarc.com

Moss, So where is the track day, how much does it cost, and is it both days or just one day?

JPH Racing
10-18-2005, 12:00 AM
RC: You know, it used to be short, tight track: short wheelbase. Long, wide open track: long wheelbase. But these days you can go fast with either on any track (well, on a velodrome I'd make it a darn Limo!) It's more of a personal feel kinda thing. I run the wheelbase above just about everywhere ....

Jeff: Excellent! Keep us posted!

Shawn: Bolt in a 4 cell 19 turn setup and run with those guys!

Rich: Man, that's great news! I knew Ronnie had it in him to post a win this season. He must have taken Ginger out to dinner the night before, and treated her like a lady! :)

Katfish: Congrats on another great event!

Tony: Nice job over the weekend! Great driving and tuning the whole time. You worked hard to step up your game.

Everyone: Well, we had a great time at the Reg. 12 race. DW put his Maverick in the A-main of Expert Mod. Qualified 3rd and finished 3rd (after fighting his way back from dead last!). The Kid wheeled his car with the Big Dogs no problem ... It was awesome!
AC put his Maverick in the A of 19 turn. Qualified 3rd and finished 6th after some bad luck. I tanked out in Mod (too tired to keep up with the car!), but TQ'ed and won 1/12 Scale. A Big thank you to all the Maverick guys who represented over the weekend, the race was a blast!

Thanks Jake. I tried to pull the big W, only so much one can do when wheelin it from the back.

This car is just stupid fast on carpet. It only has gotten better. I love the fact that no matter how the track changed over the 3 days my Maverick was allways at the front of the pack, and my setup only varied slightly as the bite came up, just small tire spacing tweeks and LR weight.

AC had an aswome 19t car too. Good job bro. First time ever playin with the big dogs and he kept it together under pressure.

The best part is that my Mod and AC's 19t setups are damn near identicle.

Thanks for the awsome car Jake and Brad.
