Tommygun43 08-08-2005, 10:23 PM Thanks burbs. The inline shock mounting is 100% of why I asked actually so I'm glad I asked! burbs 08-08-2005, 10:48 PM NO PROBLEM>>>>.also i forgot.. the 05 has rears steer slugs on the bottom plate.. the 04 did not have this option... Greg H 08-09-2005, 12:13 PM By the way, you can use the '05 bottom pod plate and rear steer slugs on the '04. I converted my 04 Maverick and it works great. TeamGoodwrench 08-09-2005, 12:39 PM NO PROBLEM>>>>.also i forgot.. the 05 has rears steer slugs on the bottom plate.. the 04 did not have this option... Hey Burbs... any luck getting your Maverick tweaked to put that PRO 3 over there in the dust ?? We're pulling for ya ! burbs 08-09-2005, 05:44 PM if i had been racing since. im sure it would be,.. i finnally got it tuned in and fast at the firecracker... but i havent been able to run since... burbs 08-09-2005, 05:46 PM By the way, you can use the '05 bottom pod plate and rear steer slugs on the '04. I converted my 04 Maverick and it works great. i did this on a buddies car.. i did notice, i had to shave a slight amount off the back of the chassis.. when you run certain amounts of pod droop, it will just slighty rub.. TeamGoodwrench 08-09-2005, 05:54 PM if i had been racing since. im sure it would be,.. i finnally got it tuned in and fast at the firecracker... but i havent been able to run since... OK.. I know how that goes. I had to miss Marshalltown last weekend and that really hurt. I'm coming over to Tri-Clone for the JW race Aug. 27 for sure. I'll probably come over and spend Friday trying to get used to that place again. Unfortunately, I won't have the new Maverick built by then (on its way from Jake), so I'll have to run one of my other cars for now. pmsimkins 08-09-2005, 06:25 PM if i had been racing since. im sure it would be,.. i finnally got it tuned in and fast at the firecracker... but i havent been able to run since... Probably would have gone 36 laps by now, right? burbs 08-09-2005, 06:27 PM I wuldnt go that far..LOL.. id expect corey to do 36, but not me. a faster 35 then i did at the firecracker definatley.. TeamGoodwrench 08-09-2005, 06:30 PM I wuldnt go that far..LOL.. id expect corey to do 36, but not me. a faster 35 then i did at the firecracker definatley.. LOL... same problem as me ? The car's probably got 36 in it, but the driver doesn't always. rcgen 08-09-2005, 09:13 PM It must be awesome to have that kind of weather. Here at the "Sunshine" state we have unpredictable thunder showers. Hopefully we'll get another break for Friday and Saturday. The setup from brushless to brushed motors should not be that big of a change. I have the novak ss+ so I just need to swap out motors and probably set the tweak a little. Tommygun43 08-10-2005, 10:17 PM Ok so the Maverick is my dream car pretty much except I HAVE to have an adjustable (width) front end. So I was just checking if maybe there was a new maverick coming for 06 with that option? I was thinking of putting the maverick pod on the new hyperdrive, but the shocks would be very difficult to mount. I don't know what to do. I probably don't really need the adjustable front end but it's something I'm set on having on my next new ride. Dick Jarvis is always FAAST with his Maverick around here by the way. Any suggestions? burbs 08-10-2005, 10:23 PM adjustable front end is not in any way needed.. yes it is a different option, but most of the fast cars on carpet this past year didnt have the option. Ie 05, silva,L4,LE Edge,KSG ect... I think the KSG has proven itself on carpet over the years.. It doesnt have this option.. all my buddies who are fast, and have the option run center anyway.. I think you should try an 05 and give dick a run for his money:p cneyedog 08-10-2005, 10:46 PM Jake, been awhile since i bugged ya !! ....... hows the "mini-rosen" doing ? DICKJ45 08-11-2005, 06:29 AM Tommy i know that if you try the 05 you will be hooked for sure. The design that Jake and Brad came up with is 110%. Massena is having a trophie race this sat, why don't you come up and you can try mine out. Dick J pepe 08-11-2005, 07:39 AM If you run the wolfe 1/8 axles they have plenty of side to side adjustment,Burbs is right you really don't need that option, the front to back option is much better, imop. JPH Racing 08-11-2005, 04:01 PM Tommy: Like Pepe said, that adjustment can be gained by using Wolfe front axles. I rarely use this adjustment, but sometimes it does help. Adding the pod to the Hyperdrive can be done, but it's not easy and would take you making some custom parts. Much easier to get yourself an '05 Maverick! Rich: The Little Man is awesome! My wife and I are totally tired and wiped out, but he's doing great! Thanks for asking! Hey, how's the racing been going down your way? You guys have been awfully quiet .... I haven't heard from Katfish in months! BHayes 08-11-2005, 04:13 PM Tommy, Like everyone else has said, you will be fine without the front width adjustment. We tried to optimize the base design as much as possible, to make it simpler to get setup. So we gave you the adjustments that you will need to get dialed in, but not the ones that will get you dialed out! Some cars have so many adjustments, that it is nearly impossble to find the fast setup. That is not the case with the '05. Hope you decide on the Maverick, and just let us know if you have any other questions. TeamGoodwrench 08-12-2005, 02:14 PM Hey Jake -- My new '05 arrived today -- it looks great ! Really looking forward to it. Thx again. Jeff. burbs 08-13-2005, 01:55 PM :freak: This is going to be a pretty stupid post... Long storey short, Im on my 9th week of being caffiene FREE.. I feel better then i have felt in years.. So, What do i drink now instead of soda???? I have been addicted to POWERADE... I bet i have drank 50 or so 32oz'rs in the last couple weeks.. Any hoo the point of this dumb storey..I was reading the side of the bottle.. Its says WELCOME TO THE POWERade SYSTEM OF GREAT TASTING, HIGH PERFORMANCE BEVERAGES.... POWERade IS LIQUID FUEL DESIGNED TO FEED YOUR MAVERICK SPIRIT... I nominate power aid the official drink of maverick racers nation wide.. But im not sure if it is because it says maverick on the bottle, or if it bacuse i drink so many of them... LOL ok stupid post is over... TinManSEP 08-13-2005, 09:52 PM Hey Burbs...I'm on my way to the local 711, gonna buy a case!!!! Don't feel too bad though, my favorite TV show was "Maverick" with James Garner (and we know he was a racer too) Sooooo, drink up, go fast a turn left, and never look back!!!!!!! Tin Man katf1sh 08-14-2005, 07:51 PM i heard a rumor butts quit racing pan cars? i think he left us for dirt oval racing? David Butts 08-14-2005, 09:04 PM i heard a rumor butts quit racing pan cars? i think he left us for dirt oval racing? No rumor, It's no secret that the last few times I've raced asphalt that my driving is lacking a lot. I just can not see the cars well enough at the speeds they're going anymore to be competitive, Specially with the level of competition here in Fl. and last night just put the icing on the cake. There are other factors that I wont get in to here as they're not hobby related. Lets just leave it at I'm only a small spark away from a lit fuse and that fuse is short, Real short. My 05 is now in very capable hands and it will be in a winners circle soon. When I run pancars again it will be with a Maverick solid chassis 05 or 06 or 07. Don't worry I'm not disappearing from the racing scene as I did in 1995, Just cutting back and I am continuing with dirt oval. You can get way out of shape and all over the place and as long as your car is fast enough, everyone just thinks your'e driving the wheels off of it. Yeeee haw! Get sideways on asphalt and you're outta control, do it in the dirt and you are Da'man. Glad to hear the little Rosen is doing great, Hey Jake, Whats that under your finger nails. Oooooohhh Noooooo! It's poopie, Now go wash your hands before you feed him again. May we see pictures? Even us tough guys have a soft spot for little ones. Goo goo Gah gah:rolleyes: katf1sh 08-14-2005, 09:22 PM damn it dave! we are all going to miss you racing with us! did david preston buy your car? JPH Racing 08-15-2005, 11:21 AM Burbs: That's pretty funny! Does this mean the next paint job will be a Power-Aid scheme?? Hey Tinman! Did you get the OPC built up? Mr. Butts: Sometimes you just have a know when to take a break. Sounds like you know it's time. Maybe CW will sponsor a sprint car class at the 'Birds, and you can still come and race with all of us? Hey, there's plenty of poopie to go around, let me know if I should UPS you some?? :) Katfish: Dude, how are you??? Racing any? David Butts 08-15-2005, 06:22 PM Mr. Butts: Sometimes you just have a know when to take a break. Sounds like you know it's time. Maybe CW will sponsor a sprint car class at the 'Birds, and you can still come and race with all of us? Hey, there's plenty of poopie to go around, let me know if I should UPS you some?? :) Hmmmm? Non winged sprints with 6 cells on the rug at da'birds? Hey Mikey we have an idea for ya. Blah blah blah yadda yadda yada, More 19t handout sales = more $$$$$ RCThunder 08-15-2005, 08:29 PM  hmmmmm TinManSEP 08-16-2005, 07:53 AM Jake....got it put together in time for Katfish's famous "Focar" race at MTR. Felt good in practice, a few problems (oops "my bad, crashes) in the 1st qual and 2nd qual, although I ran some 3.8's (personal best was 3.9's) in the 2nd. Then the sky opened up and that's all she wrote. Looking forward to this Sunday and some more of that "Florida Sunshine". Tin Man JPH Racing 08-22-2005, 12:09 AM Tinman: Did ya get a chance to run again this weekend?? TinManSEP 08-22-2005, 06:49 AM Jake...No rain, no luck, car came back in two pieces after the main!!! The rain stayed away long enough to get the day of racing done (then the skies opened up). Still working on set up, seemed I couldn't keep the back end under the car, keep trying to "plant the rear" but couldn't "get it to steer". Next weekend we'll give it a shot again. PS, check out the picture I emailed to you! Tin Man katf1sh 08-22-2005, 07:07 PM slider car tin lips and super soft on the sides and front springs..raise the shock mount in the rear up so the shocks are level. stop being thick headed! i loved my ride at mtr...if i would have narrowed up the lr and stopped messing with HP i would have been golden. lol when in doubt whore a set-up...peace! JPH Racing 08-23-2005, 01:20 AM Tinman: That's one broken t-plate! I hope everything else is ok! Get it back together and try your luck again next weekend, I'm sure it will turn out different! Kevin Perry finished 2nd in Stock and 3rd in 19T. Awesome runs by both guys. I know if I had a Maverick, I don't think I would run side shocks......LOL! Kenny@RAPTOR burbs 08-29-2005, 12:20 AM i would its faster.. i wish jimmy would try some side shocks, i Know he would be even faster.. BA Motorsports 08-29-2005, 12:50 PM Congrats Jimmy, Jake you got one heck of a racer running that MAVERICK, he puts alot of work in his cars and the results show it. RJ1 08-29-2005, 12:54 PM Congrats Jimmy, he had a great run in both classes, wish I would have left mine alone think we could have had a great race in 19T. Great job anyways and it was good to meet you. stesh 08-29-2005, 02:58 PM Does MAVERICK make a sway bar for the rear pod? katf1sh 08-29-2005, 07:00 PM .61 or half a lap whats the difference? lolol the 05 mav laid the whips down in your back yard! he he heheheheheheheheheh wonder how many maverick cars were entered? Raptor_MS 08-29-2005, 07:07 PM .61 or half a lap whats the difference? lolol the 05 mav laid the whips down in your back yard! he he heheheheheheheheheh wonder how many maverick cars were entered? Difference? About 3 seconds. Kenny@RAPTOR ACE 08-29-2005, 07:12 PM And if you want to be a smartass, MAVERICK drivers paid me to race........So who really won? Kenny@RAPTOR Thats a nice attitude for a track owner and a mfg......... Raptor_MS 08-29-2005, 07:53 PM That's a nice attitude to have after all of us RAPTORs congratulate Jimmy and the Maverick success over the weekend. . JPH Racing 08-29-2005, 08:08 PM Hi-ya Rich! Katfish: Play nice! These guys don't understand your sense of humor! Congrats to Jimmy and Kevin for their great runs this weekend. I've heard nothing but good things about the race so far, let's all keep it that way, PLEASE! As with any race event, everyone gets a chance to go fast and do their best. In the end, the main results are what counts. But, there's always the glimpse of speed from some fast runs, or partial runs, that show cars are working well. Sounds like the Raptor cars just needed some luck. Jimmy does have a cool setup, with the dampener tubes instead of side shocks. Kevin was running side shocks. Hard to say which is best, I guess it boils down to what the racer likes. RJ: Thanks! Stesh: No rear swaybars. I don't think anyone has run those in ages on a pan car. Not since we went to side shocks anyway ... TeamGoodwrench 08-29-2005, 08:14 PM The last oval car I saw a rear swaybar on was a TRC Lynx -- 1980-something. OVALIST 08-29-2005, 08:21 PM Hey If The Guys Tq'ed Doesn't That Mean They Were Fastest. One Fast Lap Does Not Make A Race. Congrats To Maverick Crew.
