BHayes 08-01-2005, 02:06 PM pepe, it is a standard Cooper (not an S) moss, those are the pointer cones (pointing the direction you are supposed to go). I did not knock them over. Mark #10 08-01-2005, 03:23 PM Burbs has a: PURPLE COMPETITION EATER burbs 08-01-2005, 04:23 PM Its almost to pretty to run LOL... KOZ 08-01-2005, 07:58 PM hope all that purple don't slow you down!I haven't see to many fast purple cars.... Raptor_MS 08-01-2005, 08:07 PM KOZ: Come to SpringCove then..... :) BURBS: Your car looks sharp! Kenny@RAPTOR KOZ 08-01-2005, 08:10 PM lol.. JPH Racing 08-01-2005, 08:16 PM Burbs: Sweet looking ride! It's different, that's for sure! Send some pics for the site! Pepe: We can do all black, no worries! Brad: AWESOME! Does your wife ever wonder why her car goes through tires so quickly? Or, does she ask why there's orange scuff marks on the front bumper? :) BHayes 08-02-2005, 09:08 AM Jake: Actually, my wife has been racing too!!! Although she is much easier on the tires than I am. TeamGoodwrench 08-02-2005, 07:55 PM Hey guys -- The pics of the '05 Maverick chassis looks like both sets of t-plate holes are offset from center -- one set to the left and one set to the right of center. Is that correct ?? Thx ! jflack 08-02-2005, 09:05 PM NO, one set of holes are Basically center and the other is off-set to the left. But, the RF is 1/16 wider than the left. So both holes are off-set to the left. TeamGoodwrench 08-02-2005, 09:11 PM NO, one set of holes are Basically center and the other is off-set to the left. But, the RF is 1/16 wider than the left. So both holes are off-set to the left. OK thx. It must be kind of an optical illusion in the pics. burbs 08-02-2005, 10:35 PM Yeah jeff it is tru center... Not like the leading edge or the outlaw car, which had no true center.. rccarmaverick 08-03-2005, 12:55 AM Jakes stuff is always correct! He wouldn't sell it if it wasn't! JPHRacer 08-03-2005, 02:15 AM It looks that way becasue of the placement of the cutouts between the t-plate positions. There is a true center position and a true off-set. It just looks different becasuse of the t-plate cutouts. DW TeamGoodwrench 08-03-2005, 09:53 PM OK cool -- thanks guys ! Now I just have to figure out which one to order for carpet season !!! -- the '05 H.E. or the '05 OPC. I've noticed some of the Maverick setups where the LF wheel is leading the RF a bit. What is the idea behind that and when is that typically done ? Thx guys -- looking forward to a new Maverick. burbs 08-03-2005, 10:01 PM I do it because i think it helps the car drive off the corner better.. If your main base is carpet, i would go with the slider, although i havent run the solid on carpet, the slider was wicked fast out of the box.. burbs 08-03-2005, 10:05 PM also.. i have been leading it on banked asphalt with caps as welll... Bob Wright 08-03-2005, 10:07 PM Bob: Thanks for the info. 2/10's is pretty close to 19 turn speeds. Does it have the pull off the turn? Where are the .2's lost? Must be nice not having to cut motors though ... They actually have more torque than a brushed motor. They lose on top end.You just keep on gearing them up until the thermal shut down kicks in them back off one tooth. Its great for me because I don't have the time to work on motors at home with work, kids, house, and all the other "grown-up" stuff. At the track it gives you way more time to work on the chassis stuff instead of eeking the last little bit out of your motor. On another note the '05 OPC is the so easy on tires.I've run the same set of caps since the begining of June.. and there is a lot of tire left.Even if the car is tight it doesn't rip the RF off the car.I think it may be because of the RF mounting location. What have you experienced with tire wear? TeamGoodwrench 08-03-2005, 10:15 PM I do it because i think it helps the car drive off the corner better.. If your main base is carpet, i would go with the slider, although i havent run the solid on carpet, the slider was wicked fast out of the box.. Thanks Mike. I'll be making a call to JPH this week :) haysreeling 08-03-2005, 10:59 PM Jeff, On my Ksg leading the LF always made my car dig on the RF tire and turn more everywhere. It basically lets the weight transfer to the RF easier I would think it would do the same on this car. Hays Jr TeamGoodwrench 08-03-2005, 11:11 PM Jeff, On my Ksg leading the LF always made my car dig on the RF tire and turn more everywhere. Mark #10 08-03-2005, 11:57 PM Hey Guys, Finally got my car assembled, and a body painted up (Its a CHROME Red, and Neon Orange & Yellow flames, Camera didnt pic it up). Just gotta go through and get a setup on it, and it'll be ready run on the rug in a few weeks!! I am very excited to run the car!! Heres some pics: http://www.marks-collectibles.com/08AUGS21.JPG http://www.marks-collectibles.com/08AUGS19.JPG http://www.marks-collectibles.com/08AUGS18.JPG j21moss 08-04-2005, 12:39 AM very nice!!!!!!!! CBear3 08-04-2005, 04:40 PM Hey Mike, Shane's new track is flat out awesome! Smooth as silk, but about as slippery right now. For me that manifested itself into a major push. We all seemed to roll-out somewhere in the 2.10 area and were running our fastest laps in the 4.7 neighborhood. Problem is that with the current layout you really are always turning...in fact you hardly straighten the wheel out any during a lap. I didn't mess with chassis last night because the track was so green (and I hadn't recorded all of my asphalt setup yet either) so I had to dial a lot more steering into my transmitter. I had been running 40% D/R with 50% end points, but by the end of the night I was up to 90% for the end points. I did the math and you're looking at nearly .825 degrees of turn to make a lap (a circle hitting all the apexes runs 64 feet in diameter, but takes you two feet outside the wall, so I figured a 60 foot diameter and a 10 inch wheelbase). The angle may even be larger than that as Dave Schor measured the centerline at nearly 180 ft (57.3 ft diameter). Which means that when I get back on the track I'll try running at least a half a degree of rear steer and probably work up from there. Good Luck this weekend, I'll be in Indy and Shane's in Iowa...and I don't know what the other area guys are up to, but there will be plenty of on-road racing I'd bet. TeamGoodwrench 08-04-2005, 10:15 PM I was just on the JPH site... plastic in hand... to order my '05 chassis. I figured I might as well get the graphite center shock mount as long as I was ordering too. But I'll be darned if I can find it anywhere on the JPH site. The Swift RC site shows it as part # MOC5125. Anybody find it on the site ?? Thx. burbs 08-04-2005, 10:22 PM Jeff your best bet is to call jake at the number on theJPH site.. You can talk to him and get everything you need all in one shot.. plus he can answer any questions you might have.. Jake has killer service.. make the call.. congrats on your ne soon to be 05 TeamGoodwrench 08-04-2005, 10:24 PM Jeff your best bet is to call jake at the number on theJPH site.. Anything else I should be sure and get with it from him ?? burbs 08-04-2005, 10:29 PM 10-4 Mike. I'll give him a yell tomorrow. Anything else I should be sure and get with it from him ?? I doubt you will break any parts, but i made sure i got an extra bumper, and bottom plate.. things that could possibley break, and it would suck to shut down the race day without the extra parts... other then that, the car is pretty well set.. JPH Racing 08-04-2005, 11:58 PM Mark: The car looks GREAT! Cbear: Use more rear steer! Start with the #1 to be safe, but don't be shy about adding more! Jeff: The graphite center shock mount is included with the kit. I was using it as a promotion a while ago, and never stopped! And, you're right, I missed it on the JPH site! I just placed my order on your website for my new '05 Maverick. :-) MK Race 08-05-2005, 04:59 PM I'm going to Fastlane in Kansas City this Saturday to run the new car. I am going to run both my KSG and the 05 to compare them side by side. One car will end up in Brushless and the other in stock for this winter. Last year my brushless car was the backup car, this year it will be getting more attention from me show I hopefully can run good in both classes. I'll let you know what I think after Saturday. Which '05 car are you going to run ? MK Race 08-06-2005, 02:04 AM The only one I have.:) Slider. Jeff, you have any relatives that play hockey? TeamGoodwrench 08-06-2005, 11:51 AM Um... no. Why you ask ? burbs 08-07-2005, 02:16 AM so who is going to BMS, for the roar nats?? MK Race 08-07-2005, 04:25 AM Hockey player for Team USA I think has same name. Dan. rcgen 08-07-2005, 10:50 AM Well, the 05 OPC Brushless on its second night out won again in an hackfest breakout class lol. The weather again was an issue but we made it. This Friday I'll be slapping on a brushed stock or 19t for some real competition. Testing and tuning is over. All fingers and toes cross for none of the "r" word. MK Race 08-07-2005, 12:47 PM Well, got to run the 05 last night. Have to say I really liked it. I only ran it for 1 heat race and did very little tweaking on it but it was 1.5 to 2 tenths quicker than my KSG. Can't wait to run it again and give it a little more tweaking. Very nice car!!! TeamGoodwrench 08-07-2005, 12:52 PM Way cool Mike ! JPH Racing 08-08-2005, 12:11 PM rcgen: Congrats! What's up with all the "summer time" rain? You guys need to head out west to get some racing in! Yesterday was a nice, 90 degree sunny day! We raced and had a blast! Do you have to change the set-up much, going from brushless to brushed? MK: That's what I like to hear! With some fine tuning, it'll really rip! Congrats to Justin Tuey, if the reports are correct, he won the 19 Turn class at the KC Racing 150 in Bakersfield, CA! Built up his '05 on Thursday and Friday, took it to the front on Saturday and Sunday! Tommygun43 08-08-2005, 10:08 PM Hello. I have a question. Is the '04 Performance Pod what comes with the '05 Conversion Kits? Or is that a different Pod? Also, does the pod use a standard T-plate or offset? (Just want to make sure it's standard). thanks burbs 08-08-2005, 10:17 PM the top and bottom plate on the 05 are different then the 04.. the shock geometry is different... the aluminum is the same.. the car takes symetrical or standard t plates, not offset.. the ride height blocks still move front to back like the 04 does.. just inline shock mounting... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
