Maverick Racing 06-05-2003, 12:07 AM This weekend Ill be polishing all aluminum parts....The anodizing shop is doing my car finally....But they are doing it for free so Its worth the wait.
The car will probably be a bright orange, but they have many colors, so Im going to look them all over before I decide.
JPH Racing 06-05-2003, 01:50 PM Cody: I'm sure your car will come out looking sweet! I look forward to seeing it at the K-400.
Jake

JPH Racing 06-07-2003, 05:54 PM George: Thanks for the info on Phil. He's a modest guy! And, he's been on FIRE lately with his '03 MOC! Let me know if you have any questions while you're building. And, please don't forget to send me your info, I'll send you a t-shirt!

Maverick Racing 06-13-2003, 04:55 PM Just got back from the anodizing shop...I couldnt get orange, so I got green. Hey, atleast its different than everyone elses cars.
TinManSEP 06-13-2003, 06:38 PM Hey Maverick Racing...looking good is is onty part of the package (bet it does look great), but the best part is getting out on the track and racing!!! And we know the car is good.
Okay Maverick guys the weekend is here, who's racing where? I get to race Saturday Night at Fraaaank's (hehe) and Sunday At GT. Oval is hot and heavy here in Florida!!!!!
Go Fast, Turn Left, and Never Look Back,
TinMan
VegasJim 06-13-2003, 06:46 PM With the green parts it's like that HULK thing. All you need is a big 18 on the door.

I was thinking about painting the body neaon green, but went for my favorites, neon orange, pearl blue, and sprint white. It wont look great with the chassis, but atleast I know its mine.
Oh yeah Jim, is Austin running sportsman mod at the Kimbrough?
JPH Racing 06-13-2003, 07:51 PM Yeah, The Hulk Edition! Great idea guys!
Looks like I might get to run this weekend too .... at Delta Raceway in Antioch.
TinMan, wish I could afford the commute and race with you guys two times a weekend!
Good luck racing this weekend everyone!
Jake
JPH Racing 06-13-2003, 07:52 PM Cody: Send some pics for the website when you get it all done!
VegasJim 06-13-2003, 11:39 PM Maverick, The plan is for Austin to run in Stock, 19t, and Sportsman Mod. My Kid is going to run 19t Truck.
You may want to look at your car colors, they are the same colors we have run for awhile. Flo Orange, White, Yellow and Blue. Kind of a Tide w/bleach thing. Except the numbers are 07 and 7.
Jake, Tear E'm Up.

Ill be running a copperish car with a blue roof and blue stripes on the side in practice or anytime Im running under daylight. At night Ill be running a bright orange body with Banzai, KC Racing, and JPH decals on it. Ill be able to tell my car from everyone elses because Ill have those cool Jaco grey rims, that and my cars have white spoilers.
i'm going to run a black car with black wheels....haha....at night....

Maverick, I just didn't want you to get confused. That's all.
Koz, I see what your up to, It's that stelth nightrider thing. You going to do this come out of nowhere and whoop all of us because we can't see ya.
JPHRacer 06-14-2003, 12:49 PM You all ready for tonight KOZ????
I think I can smell a new track record in mod. How bout' you??
Se'ya there.
Yep.. will see! hopefully they washed the track last night so all i have to do is blow it off and spray it..
See you tonite!!
Maverick Racing 06-17-2003, 06:02 PM My "green" car is 80% complete. All of the 6061 parts like the hubs, pod pieces, castor blocks, shock mount, etc. came out just as I wanted, but the smaller parts like wing buttons, side shocks, and screws came out as an army green. It wasnt as I planned it to be, but its unique.
The car will be orange for the Snowbirds as Im taking the parts somewhere else next time.
VegasJim 06-17-2003, 09:33 PM One 19t Truck Finished for the Kinbrough. Just waiting to go test.
JPHRacer 06-17-2003, 09:34 PM Mav: how much did it cost for all the screws to get done?
Maverick Racing 06-17-2003, 09:41 PM It was supposed to be free, but because it took a ton of time to string the parts on the rack to be anodized, I got charged $40. I sent 84 pieces to get colored.
If you ever decide to do green, make sure everything is 6061 aluminum because otherwise it wont turn out good.
How'd the track test go?
How soon is everyone going to be there? I should be there between 9 and 10 pm on thursday with just enough time to meet everyone and run a pack or two to get a feel for the track.
Maybe all of the Maverick drivers should pit in one area together?
Maverick Racing 06-17-2003, 10:02 PM I forgot to ask....
How much does it cost to get your guys stuff anodized black?
JPHRacer 06-18-2003, 12:19 AM Wrong JPH, I am not going to the Kimbrough, Never was into the big track stuff, and to buy 4-5 mod motors that I will never run again is kinda pointless. Just my opinion.
Good Luck though.
When Jake and I got our stuff done it was about $70 for mine which did my two cars at the time, but I was thinking if the price wasn't to bad I would do all my screws too, not sure though. It depends on how much all my Puntnam mod cost me when they get here.
What class (s) are you running there?
Maverick Racing 06-18-2003, 12:53 AM Im running sportsman mod....If I had another MOC Id run 19t, but unless someone loans me another car for the weekend, ill be running just one class.
JPH Racing 06-18-2003, 10:58 AM Jim: Are you guys testing there Thursday night? Ozzie mentioned he was heading out to the track then?
Cody: Most anodizing shops are reasonable on their prices. It just depends how many little parts you bring. Their time is spent loading them onto the racks. Be careful you don't wear out your stuff changing colors too often .... Each time they strip and re-coat, it changes the tolerances.
VegasJim 06-18-2003, 01:00 PM Jake,
I'm taking my son to get him some track time. I'm going to let him run the truck and the stock. Austin can't make it up from Arizona for just one day.
JPH Racing 06-19-2003, 08:29 PM Jim: what's the gearing like for stock?
Everyone: looks like we should have around 10 Maverick Racers at this event! It will be fun to meet you all and hang out, I'm looking forward to the race.
Maverick Racing 06-19-2003, 09:12 PM How do setups differ from stock to mod on this track? i figure since Ill have a ton of time on my hands at the race, I can run stock and mod.
jasonthehunted 06-20-2003, 01:27 AM Im just getting back into racing, I have an associated 10lso from like 96-97. will it work with the maverick chassis? It has the dynamic front end but the rear pod only has 1 shock. Im not familiar with anything else about the L3. thanks
JPH Racing 06-20-2003, 11:16 AM Jason: You would use your front end, center shock, side pod plates, axle and hubs, etc ....
You would need: Maverick Oval Chassis, side shocks, top and bottom pod plates, and some hardware.
And then you would have a rippin' new ride!
Jake

Maverick, The differance between stock and Mod are: Springs(All), Gear, and rear wing.
JPHRacer 06-20-2003, 01:29 PM LSO uses the older style pod, it's not compatable with any new stuff, you would need pod plates, but it's worth it.

katf1sh 06-21-2003, 09:02 PM sorry jake..i had to lay the law down! lol i think the main was made up of..4 adx cars and 3 maverick cars and one carpet pro. but phil is getting faster!
bigdon18 06-21-2003, 09:36 PM yeah phillip is gettin faster ,, he broke track record again
Don
JPH Racing 06-21-2003, 11:49 PM Katfish: Nice job today! I hear that when the dust settled, you came out on top. Was the stock race a clean run? I heard the 19 turn looked like a WWF tag team match gone bad!
Congrats to Phillip Owen, new track record and TQ in 19 Turn. Fastest car and driver at the track!
Don: Glad you liked the chassis the first time out. I'm sure it will be cleaner racing the next time out (after you get your electronics remounted in the car).
Go Maverick!
katf1sh 06-22-2003, 01:40 PM yeah jake stock was a super clean run! i bettered my own track record by 3 laps! i think the track and everyone else is getting faster. oh the other car was a ksg car ernie bucci got it dialed in as well. great to see a few quality chassis out there! 2 races 2 different winners...will that trend continue? next up race rock orlando florida july 12th a boylan production...peace
Maverick Racing 06-29-2003, 09:57 PM To the top...Some of us have some stories to tell :dude:
JPHRacer 06-30-2003, 01:12 AM Come on guys, let all of us that didn't go know how it went. I wanna hear.
Well in Nor-Cal today the Maverick was on fire. It won all the oval electric classes that was raced. 19 Turn, TQ and a 1,2,3 finish. Stock had a TQ and a main win. Good job to all of those that put Maverick up front today at NCRC raceway.
Now your guy's turn.
Maverick Racing 06-30-2003, 01:23 AM Well if you read the Kimbrough Results thread, you know how I did
