BTW congrats to Jake for his TQ and win at Racers Haven in Bakersfield Ca at the Southwest Tour Race. We have never been to that track ever before and he rolled in and cleaned house in the 19t class. TQ-Win case closed.

Well I guess you could say that Jake, Rosen to the occasion:rolleyes: . Way to go Jakester. See, Some of us older guys can still drive.

As far as racing goes over here. We've been rained out so many times that I put an old dirt oval car back together and went and had my last name handed to me  at the indoor dirt oval in Ocala a little over an hour south of here. Thats the first time in 11 years I've run dirt. It showed. Butt(tm) I loved every minute of it and I'll be going back as soon as my schedule allows.

Now wheres that Maverick 05.5 dirt latemodel? Hmm, Tc3 rear suspension and drivetrain widened with custom arms and axle carriers with the heavy duty version of the "econoglide" front end. Hmmm?

Jake's Bright Yellow '05 Maverick was FLYING Saturday...but more important, Jake was so smooth and paid attention to traffic and ran clean where a lot of drivers were...as they have too much this year...driving a bit too OVER aggressive.

Congrats to Jake, thanks to ALL the NOR CAL guys... Jake, DW, George, KOZ, Charlie F for coming down and adding to the fun...

We had Nor Cal, So Cal, and NEVADA drivers on hand...

Sorry for not posting up sooner guys ... Things have been getting a little busy around here. The new addition to the family, is due within 3 weeks or so .... I'm really looking forward to it all, but I'm also gettin' a little nervous!

TeamG: We carry the Silva and black micro vcs. The ones in the SRP section, are vcs.
DW: Wow, long trip! How many hours of Z's did you log on Sunday/Monday? GM said his family let him sleep an hour ... Kat let me sleep about 4 .... I'm gettin' too old for that stuff! :)

Mr. Butts: "Rosen to the occasion"? Man, you had to reach deep for that one! :) The thing I like about you, you write all your own material ... Ever think about a doing stand up?
I haven't done any dirt oval in ages .... That's where I started r/c racing.

rcgen: Only 30%, that's good! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys to get in a race!!

Joe: Thanks again for having us down to your race. We all enjoyed ourselves and it was great to run against the So-Cal oval guys. 10 cars in the A-Main made it exciting on that track! Scott and Larry were right there, both waiting for a mistake as we pulled through traffic. It was FUN!

Jake, Big congrats on the new addition. Will it be a Jake jr. or a Jakette? Hmmm? Rosie Rosen? Cant get onto the swift site? I keep getting a error page instead. Standup? No way. My head is full of those useless ramblings that just keep falling out of my mouth. Anyone around here can vouch for that.

Looks like we'll finally get in some racing this weekend at RaceRock in Orlando. My tires have dry rotted it's been so long.

Good luck with the Mini Mav, you should have it dialed in no time! As for the baby being named Bill .... Well, how about if I send you the bill and we'll call it even? LOL His name has been picked out already, gonna be a Nathan.

Congrats Jake on the upcoming little one.

As far as racing goes, another week without the glitches meant an unofficial track record, TQ and win for the OPC. The car just keeps feeling better and better.

Congrats to you and your wife on your new arrival. He will be the best dressed little R/C racer with his little JPH T-shirt, and one of the fastest on his little "MINI" maverick chassis. Jake, don't let him watch reruns of the old TV show "Maverick" boy, will he be confused!!!!!

Just one question still needs to be answered..............Do old diapers make good tire rags??????? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now Jake, We're all happy for you and the little Mrs and even happier for the littlest Rosen but lets clear up a few things. Dad will continue to be beat and tired for the next oh? 3 or 4 years and about that e-mail thing? Once The little one gets old enough to touch the keyboard you won't be able to get near it. Even if you do it probably won't work with all the peanut butter and jelly that'll be on it. Sleep? You aren't gonna get any of that for the next 18 years so forget it.

All Joking aside my kids have made me very proud. My last of the three just graduated from high school earlier this month and my oldest was married two weeks ago.

Tin Man

Just a mention. The one and only Tin Man got up on the drivers stand during the Drivers meeting at this past weekends racerock race in front of about a hundred people and dropped to a knee and asked his long time girlfriend to be Mrs. Tin Woman. That alone was worth the entry fee. I'm proud to be one of your friends Steve. Oh yeah, She said yes!

Everyone (Kenny too): Sorry guys ... about 10 hours sleep over the last five days is getting to me! Heck, the whole week of the 'Birds is easier than this ... I didn't realize Burbs and Kenny were friends and Kenny was ribbing him (Burbs thanks for the e-mail). I read the post wrong and overreacted. I shouldn't have posted anything, I should have e-mailed Kenny directly and asked him about it. Kenny, your posts are welcome any time.

Thank you to everyone for the congratulations, it's really appreciated! What a change of life in a blink of an eye.

Mk: Thanks! I doubt there will be much sleep for a few weeks ...

Mark: Thanks! I'm looking forward to handing him a radio and teaching him the racing line around an oval track.

Tinman: Thanks, and congrats to you and the soon-to-be wife. You're a brave man to make the proposal like that! On the diaper subject ... Depends if they've been cleaned! What's coming out of the little man right now would loosen a car up good! :)

Mr. Butts: Thanks! and congrats on the wedding a few weeks back, that must have a happy day for all of you. Right now, I can;t even picture that far ahead in my little one's life!

JB: Thanks! The delivery was awesome! I was totally into it and so proud of my wife.

Kenny: See above. I'll edit my post, if you would do the same, that would be appreciated.

Yok: No worries man, it's all good now.

So where is everyone running their electronics on the 05 OPC? Are you putting the Speedo in the back, and the running the battery in the middle with reciever up front? Do I really want all that left side weight? Do alot of people ever run the pack all the way forward?

Just curious as to what everyones doing....want this thing to fly!!

 Mark

JPHRacer

Left side weight = fast. I run the speedo on the pad behind the cells and the reciever in front of the cells. Your never going to be able to use the off-set t-plate to the fullest if you dont have all of the cells on the left side.

Yep its awsome. I saw little nathan just the other day. Allready looks like an up and coming nats winner. Next thing you know he'll be asking to borrow the whip to take the chicas out on the town. Enjoy it jake while you still can keep him in the crib. ha ha.

mark on flat carpet i would reccomend the left side weight... On paved cap tracks, you dont need all that left side weight.. it slows the car down... we run all our elects on the right, and even move the battery in for even less left weight..

Just a quick East Coast post to say these Maverick chassis' are great! My son races an '04 OPC in 19T spec on a High-banked oval, line of 164' +/- and he was a rocket out of the box. Qualified in for the a-main second time out. Very stable, predictable and easy to tweak in the right direction.

Katfish: Thanks! He is a mini one for sure .... Did you get a chance to run that new car last weekend? What's this I hear about you distracting other drivers? Did ya pull Ronnie's finger on the stand again?? I heard Ronnie did good in 1/12 scale???

Todd: Glad to hear from you! You're gonna hit the high speed stuff? Man, I'd like to get back out on a 'Drome again sometime soon ... I told DW I'd be lucky to see the other side these days! :) Keep in touch!

Burbs: Congrats on another win, sounds like a good main event. Keep tuning, you'll find that last little bit you're looking for. Pretend you're building the car for someone else! :)

BigDon: Hey man, how you been!?! Yeah, that's some good advice. Easier said than done though!

DW: Yeah, In a few years I'll be sending him to uncle DW's house to borrow the truck!

Mark: I know you got answers already, but I'll chime in here too. I posted up pics of my '05 OPC and the setup I just ran at Racer's Haven in So-Cal. It's for 19 Turn, but aside form dialing out some steering throw it should work fine for stock. You can see where I put my electronics and battery. This setup ran very well on the medium sized, good bite, outdoor asphalt track.

RJ: Thanks for the post! I'm glad the '04 is a rocket ship for your son! Keep up the good work, and post up more often!
