Ovalist and Tony: It was surprised at how quick it was right off the building table. I know there's a bunch left in it too ... Looking forward to running it more!

Tony: Congrats on getting #1000 .... that's a lot of posts and views for a little oval company with a bunch of cool racers running the chassis!

Anti-roll bar that is, Any of you guys try a front bar on your cars? They seem to be all the rage right now. I made my own for my brand A car and was able to run much softer springs in the front without over steer or the severe leaning in the corners like a lightly sprung car usually tends to do.

Tires wore more even and flat also on asphalt. I'm thinking of trying one on the OPC in the future butt(tm) first I need to get it to turn in to my liking before I tune steering out with a front bar. Off to race rock we go this weekend for the unofficial gathering of the Maverick bretheren. Orlando may never be the same.?

There are pics of the sway bar set-up on Kevin's Maverick on the site ... Go to Racer's Rides, in the '04 section and look for Kevin's (KOZ) section.

It takes a little bit of customizing to get them to work, but it seems pretty fast. Myself, I haven't used them (at least not any of the current designs). But, who knows, maybe that's a part we can come up with in the future?

Do you have to buy a drilled a-arm for the ball to fit into. I know a ball cup snaps onto the a- arm.

burbs
11-20-2004, 05:44 PM
you have to drill your own hole.. i have seen a cool trick some guys do so u dont have to drill.. the drill hole may weeken the arm

they use the aluminum ring from a kibbrough pion gear.. it fits right over the ball cup on the arm... then use a bal stud where the setscrew would sit.. then u have it..

Well I can say I now have the OPC turning in. Maybe thats an understatement since the left front of my body has more pipe marks after yesterdays Race rock event than the right. Hmm? Left front marks = car turning versus right front = car pushing.

Thats the first time I've ever driven a pan car that could be driven with a drift almost like a well handling dirt car. Lap after lap. Wasnt the fastest car out there in that qualifier but it sure was fun and looked neat, uh cool, uh bad, uh I dunno, Maybe no one but me saw it but I got it tamed down somewhat for the rest of qualifying and finished 3rd in the C after putting fellow Maverick racer Phil Owen into the pipe at the start.

Oh and did I mention I was riding with him both there and back. He was gratious enough to let me ride home in the back of his truck rather than just leaving me there. Sorry Phil! He's a nice guy and the doctors say the stitches can be removed in 5 to 7 days.

Both Tinman and Katf1sh had their Maverick's working well but the mains were'nt kind to them either.

One more thing, I and Phil were in the C main and we had some pretty fast company in it. There were other fast guys in the D so we really didnt do all that bad considering that we were in the fastest class at a race that attracts the fastest of the fast from Florida and the surrounding states.

Until next time, "Racers you have five seconds or less"

Jake, when you see katfish at the snowbirds, ask him about his 50 lap pitstop using Ronnie's car during the Thunder 100 enduro. Each team had to change 4 tires. I was the "spotter" for the team at one point during the pitstop.... I told ronnie on the driver stand........ just shut the radio off..........

Kat can give you better details, but I can tell you when it was all over we we're laughing so hard our bellys hurt ........ 5 years from now we'll still be gettin razzed about our 47 lap pitstop......<-- thats no exaggeration either. It's not really kats fault...... our "car owner" ronnie forgot to make some adjustments......like he used 4 screws in the rear wheels not just 2, and then had a bud bartos wingnut on his diff, so when kat got the 4 ....and what seemed like 6inch long wheel screws ronnie had in there, the RR tire wouldnt come off ......... kat still says we punk'd him.....lol......... wish it was on video.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you and your families all have a safe holiday weekend!

Mr Butts: Got 'er turning in good do ya!?! Nice! Amazing what a little change in wheelbase will do for a set-up .... Don't worry about Phil, he'll bounce back quickly.

RcThunder: Hope the race day went really well for you! Glad to be a little part of it (from 3000 miles away!).

KatFish: Almost time to wake up Bro! The bad dreams are gonna end soon. Sooooo, I hear you're a mighty fine pitman, huh? Fastest tire changer in the lower 48 states? You can reprogram an ATM in less than 10 seconds, but you can't take off two nuts and 8 bolts in less than 47 laps?

Do you take trade in's? I have an OPC used only on sundays(well some fridays and saturdays) by a little old lady(oops that is a lie too)to go to church and the grocery store. the back seat and interior are in excelent shape.(Oh my! There's another fib) Jake, I hope the new car does well for you as the oval market seems to be bustling with new cars and pieces almost weekly. It's good to be racing again.

Got me a 2nd at Hw friday night. Only one more place to move up now. A couple of the fast guys werent there due to the cold but the car is deffinately working better for me with the wheelbase shortened up some. Might have to pick me up one of those Mini-Mav's too as there are now some guys talking about 12th scale oval on the big track. Hmmm? Now if Santa could bring me an extra charger or two I'd be in business.

Mr. Butts: No trade in deals planned. Our financing dept. just couldn't figure out how to make that work out! 2nd place, awesome! See now, aren't you glad you finally brought that OPC out of the closet? LOL

I heard Phil kicked some butt (not your's Mr. Butts) at a regional race a week or two ago?

Tinman: Great to hear you're fast on the rug as well. Keep up the good work!
Yokman: You can check out the JPHRacing.com site for set-up info. If you have any specific questions, please post them here, or send me an e-mail JPHRacing001@aol.com

BMc: Both the Slider and the OPC work very well on short tracks. Since it's coming up, I'd wait for the new chassis ... It will be a slider chassis, but will drop the front plate (front end will bolt directly to the chassis). Of course, you could always try just the OPC chassis right now, and then pick up the new one when it's released!

Pics of the prototype coming soon .... As in any day now ...

Hello Oval Racers!

Well, as you all know, we've been working hard on the '05 chassis. And, I'm happy to say the design is finished! The files are off to the graphite cutter, aluminum parts are getting bids right now, things are looking good and the project is entering it's final stages.

Now, for some info: The '05 Maverick turned out to be a very interesting project. Brad Hayes (original ADX designer) and I collaborated on this project. Both bringing our different design ideas together and forming them into, what we both feel, is a solid racing package. I'm very proud of this new design. Brad and I worked very well together and both enjoyed the project (expect more cool stuff in the near future).

The official name for the car will be the '05 Maverick Oval Chassis H.E. (Hayes Edition)

It will be a slider chassis. It will drop the front plate used on the '04 slider, the front end will bolt directly to the chassis. The front end mounting holes will be slotted and will have locking plates to secure it.

The major changes are to the rear of the chassis. This area features new shock geometry and mounting system. The Performance Pod was integrated into the design. The pod can be run standard, or off-set. The t-plate can be run in the centerline, or off-set to the left.

So, I'm sure you're now asking yourself "when can I see it?" .... Please check out the new website at www.swiftracingproducts.com (mip://{0A47AE00-C319-4D03-ADAA-8FE02BC0D94E}/www.swiftracingproducts.com) There you will find pictures of the prototype '05 car. Pics of the production chassis will be added asap. And I'm still hopeful we'll have the '05 for sale late December, or early January.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

If someone wants to slip me $50 I'll move your name to the front of the list. ha ha ha. Just kidding guys. Now insted of getting a new oval car in my jakes stocking for christmas, I am getting a lump of coal.

If only I could tell you what all is going on with this new car. Have been doing months of protoype testing. Week in, week out. This is going to be a wicked fast car. The Hayes shock geometry, thats been refined and updated to todays needs, is just a huge change in its own. Plus all the best parts of the olders cars, and new innnovations will make this one hell of an oval car.

I hope everyone likes the new '05 car. Jake and I have put a lot of thought and work in to it. The shock geometry has been refined a lot since the ADX3 prototype car. While this car has some features of the '04 Maverick as well as some familiar ADX features, it is not just an '04 Mav with ADX shock geometry. The '05 design is fresh form the ground up. We looked at all of the geometry and focused on a completely optimized design, while still keeping some of the Maverick design cues.

I'll try to keep an eye on this thread and help Jake answer any questions.

Let us know what you think!

Stagger: Thanks for checking out the new site! And the new car! Hope the wife, I mean sponsor, let's you get one when they are available!

DW: Hey now!, what are you doing ... $50 bribes now??

Hey guys, I'll move you to the top of the list for $25! :)

Katfish: Vanilla, huh? Hmmm .... Like vanilla wafers? Oh wait, it was a serious question ... Ok, here's the dealo. The pics are of a prototype set-up, complete. The production parts will be a little different here and there ... Plus, some of the proto parts were almost hand cut, and a little rough for close up shots.

I'll work on my photo skills when the production parts are here, and I'll have a much better layout. (don't ask, you cannot model in the shots! Katfish in a T-Back, holding a Maverick will NOT help sales!)

JFlack: Solid version in the near future. If it's ok to ask, what kind of track to you run on, where a slider won't work? Or do you just prefer the solid chassis? (the OPC has been selling very well, and running real strong for a lot of guys) Yes, good eye, the '05 does have Hayes/ADX style rear steer.

Katfish: GK will be running an '05 too!

Brad: You da MAN!

Tinman: You're so polite sometimes! :)

Katfish: (man I've post to you a lot tonight!) It's a Hayes Edition ... But, not a Hayes Signature Edition .... (Brad didn't want to do autographs, says he gets enough of that already ...??)

our high banked paved track is just the opposite... our track like flex.. the og thin hyper 500 and the og thin 700 are the two best cars out there... the original adx was great to.. we run caps...
on carpet in general flex is good.. though a stiff car can be super fast on carpet, it generally takes alot more setup to get it fast.. the flex actually helps fake a good setup.. im sure there will be a solid version of this car since jake has both solid and sliders now... hint hint.. so will there be both jake.. he he
