WoodyC 03-26-2003, 01:12 AM Bring it on Buddy I can loose to you or ELI - but one of ya will finish behind me !!!!! onefastdude 03-26-2003, 08:06 AM It might be me finishing behind you on the track ......But I'll be 1 or 2 laps ahead of you on the clock! :D  Dwight Smith 03-26-2003, 09:48 AM And there you have it! msvircev 03-26-2003, 11:02 AM I've been looking for a new chassis and think I may have found the one. The MOC'03 looks like a winner. My normal track is outdoor flat asphalt with about a 180' run line, mostly temporary parking lots. (check out www.stormrc.com) My question at this time is what is the best way to order one! Thanks. KOZ 03-26-2003, 11:28 AM I've been looking for a new chassis and think I may have found the one. The MOC'03 looks like a winner. My normal track is outdoor flat asphalt with about a 180' run line, mostly temporary parking lots. (check out www.stormrc.com) My question at this time is what is the best way to order one! Thanks. www.jphracing.com JPH Racing 03-26-2003, 07:19 PM Ordering Maverick products is easy! E-mail me at JPHRacing001@aol.com and I'll tell you how it's done! Jake Maverick Racing 03-26-2003, 08:34 PM YGM, Jake. JPH Racing 03-26-2003, 09:22 PM Cody: You've got mail ... Maverick Racing 03-29-2003, 08:02 PM Just got back from a long day of racing...I was overgeared all day long, but still qualified second. It cooled off a bunch between my last heat and the main, and my car was really loose, to the point that I went a lap down...I caught back up after things tightened up, got my lap back, and finished second. Now the wait til next week :( Todd Gross 03-30-2003, 12:42 PM Well Jake, the track record in stock didn't last too long for Woody. Dwight Smith and the rest of the Hyperdrive mob had to come down to stock and show him who's boss! I didn't see you guys runnin stock when Tim Dilg had the record with his Hyperdrive! LOL! All kiddin aside, them boys we're flyin! Woody had a pretty good night though, went over a lap faster than he did the week before, just wasn't fast enough. Mel raced stock and car looked ALOT better, he just had problems with slower traffic all night. I had my debut in modified, and got a good old fashioned a** whoopin. I learned alot though, it won't be quite as ugly next time. I wanna thank Dwight and Eli for the help last night. Jake, i'll be in touch! Todd Gross Team Maverick Todd Gross 03-30-2003, 12:50 PM Oh yeah, forgot about Eric Kav and Mike ( Gooney ). Eric made the B in stock, he struggled a little. I was checkin his car out, he's on order to go home and do some TLC on his car. LOL! Gooney debuted his new '03 last night. I helped him out a little, and he went 2 laps faster than he ever has, so it was a good first time out! Todd Gross Team Maverick Dwight Smith 03-30-2003, 06:35 PM Todd...Glad you had fun! The oval track at Ultra has had a ton of use and the condition of the carpet makes jumping to mod about three times harder than normal. It takes a little time but, you did a good job. As for that stock deal....I had no intentions of running stock until Eli talked me into it. Also..with the indoor season drawing to an end I figured a few extra cars wouldn't hurt anything. Even with the extra 10 minutes a round, it was tough to get both the stock and the mod cars ready in time. Thanks to the Ultra guys for giving us a break getting to the line on time. See ya' all next Saturday! Dwight WoodyC 03-30-2003, 07:10 PM I told you guys that at least 1 of you would finish behind me !!!!!!!!! Sorry about Eli's luck in the main or it would have been a good race between him and Dwight. I'll still take the 2nd place no matter how I get it. Dwight Smith 03-30-2003, 10:55 PM Woody...you ran really well Saturday. That deal with Eli was too bad because we were nip and tuck. It would have been a great finish! We'll do it again in mod next Saturday! Later, Dwight onefastdude 03-31-2003, 08:48 AM Yes Woody you were right again!!!! It was great to see the mod guys thrash to get their cars to work good in stock. GREAT runs by the chassis man "Dwight" (2) track records - stock and mod - whew  Those Maverick guys turned the wick up this past weekend and went faster then they have went in the past. It was really unfair to the stock guys that the mod guys ran, but it was FUN... I however had another stellar weekend, debuting my new KSG ride in modified. The car was working really well, just had a little bad luck. Oh well there's next week. Hope to see everyone again next weekend for one more chance, JPH Racing 03-31-2003, 10:46 PM I'm glad all you guys are enjoying your racing ... HyperDrive vs. the Maverick, in a good nature'd kind of way. Proves two brands, and the Racers who run them, can get a long and help each other go fast and have fun. That's what it's all about! Ultra Racing is on my wish list of tracks to run at! Jake JPHRacing001@aol.com WoodyC 04-01-2003, 01:11 AM Jake -- I hate to bust your bubble --- BUT I CANT STAND THESE TWO YO-YO"S. They have been kickin my butt for about 10 years now - suckin up to every Factory Team out there and always getting what I cant get !!!! One of them use to sell FRICKIN doorbells and the other is a worthless guy that looks like homeless hermit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But DAMN can they set up a car and drive !!!!!!!! Love ya guys !!!!!!!!!!!! onefastdude 04-01-2003, 07:54 AM touche' Dwight Smith 04-01-2003, 01:37 PM We love you too Woody! onefastdude 04-02-2003, 08:28 AM Well it's Wednesday....... Time to start talking Smack again. Dwight Smith 04-02-2003, 02:19 PM ...Smack! bluelineracer 04-02-2003, 04:34 PM smack(i think?) What classes are you running? gezer2u 04-17-2003, 05:13 PM KGB will be there. KOZ 04-17-2003, 06:02 PM i'll be there!!!!! track record weather!!! JPH Racing 04-17-2003, 07:00 PM qsac17: I really like the whack face! JPH: Mod, 4 cell. Maybe 19 turn. (I'm leaving early, you're working late! HaHa!) Gezer: Awesome! Is Josh going to run Mod?? KOZ: I hope so ... should be a fast night! Hey, did any of you guys see the '02 Maverick article FINALLY made it up on the rc-oval site .... What did y'all think? Jake JPHRacing001@aol.com Maverick Racing 04-17-2003, 07:36 PM im taking the weekend off to get my new '03 ready for the Arizona State Championships next saturday....Im running 4 cell mod against some fast guys, the car has all the talent to keep up, now if I can drive the thing Ill be good to go. I was going to run a 10x1 then realized those guys are running 8's and under so Im trying to bum one off of anyone for the weekend.....By the way KOZ, you have mail on that 7x2! gezer2u 04-17-2003, 08:06 PM Josh Said "No" I thought the article was really goood. It hit the high points of your car. I really like the right side, good work Jake. Todd Gross 04-17-2003, 09:47 PM Hey Jake, thats was pretty cool seein the article on rc oval, but it woulda been alot better if you coulda had an '03 chassis on there huh! Oh well, I guess any exposure is better than none! How's racin goin for you fellas out on the west coast? Carpet oval season is endin here this Saturday. :( Might have to try to find me some outdoor tracks around here to go play on when i'm not out eatin dirt with the kart. Good luck and happy racin! Todd Gross Team Maverick WoodyC 04-17-2003, 11:00 PM Great job on getting exposure with the article - wish it would have been the MOC 03 also. Hey Todd maybe we will see ya Sat. As far as outdoor. Mel and I will at the Velodrome this summer. For anyone interested Jake turned me on to Mcallister bodies for the Velodrome - a narrow 7 1/2 wide Monte Carlo. They sold me 3 for $42 with shipping. Std pricing for anyone. Find "Mcallister Racing" with Google For our Velodrome in Indy Search for "PDX Racing" thats the guy who runs the races. FYI I am going to Carpet Nats next weekend any other Mavericks coming JPH Racing 04-18-2003, 11:52 AM Cody: If you have any building questions, please ask! Good luck at the State Champs! That's a big race to try Mod for the first time, be smooth with the throttle! Gezer: Ok, how about you then? I KNOW you want to run Mod! Thanks for the cool words on the new Chassis. Todd: I agree. But, it only took 6 months to get the '02 article up ... I'll send them an '03 soon, so they can get a head start before 2004 rolls around! Good luck with the kart this weekend. Woody: Good luck at the Nats! I'm sure you're gonna have fun and go fast! Thanks to representing the Maverick Crew out there! Jake JPHRacing001@aol.com JPHRacer 04-19-2003, 03:00 AM whoo hoo. Looks like I got someone to ride with me back from antioch. Thst means some mod action for me. Se ya guys there. JPH Racing 04-21-2003, 02:40 PM Congratulations to Phillip Owen for a setting a new track record in 19 turn at Hobby World in Jacksonville, Florida. And congratulations to Kevin Osmon for setting a new track record in 4 Cell Mod at Delta Raceway in Antioch, California. Nice work guys! Jake Maverick Racing 04-21-2003, 09:21 PM Lets see....Kevins setup, and Kevins 7x1....Maybe Ill be fast? Thanks again to you California guys for helping me out so much. You guys dont know how much I appreciate it and my driving has gotten so much better since I teamed up with you! Maverick Racing 04-22-2003, 09:45 PM Has anyone cut their front plate in two? What did it do for you? I dont have any desire to cut it, Im just wanting to see how others like the extra adjustability. JPHRacer 04-22-2003, 10:34 PM I cut mine the first race after the snowbirds. Moving the whole plate to the left of the car will give you a bunch more steering. Moving the left side over one but keping the right side in the stock position will give you more steering, but not as much as moving the whole plate to the left. It will do the opposite if you move it to the right. The whole plate to the right will give you less steering. Moving just the right side to the right will give you a little less steering. I like the feel of having just the left side moved all the way to the left. But KOZ had a much better car in the turns, and he had the whole plate moved to the left, so I will try it next time. The more adjustability the faster your gonna go. As long as you know what your doing. :) VegasJim 04-24-2003, 07:56 PM Jake, I recieved the chassis at 10:00am for the big brown truck. Had everything swaped over and ready to run by 2:00pm. Ready to rock and roll. I'll let you know how it went. Thanks, Jim KOZ 04-24-2003, 08:09 PM jim i take it you're running the swt race tommorrow. please any insight on set-up for that place would be helpful. kosmon@sbcglobal.net VegasJim 04-25-2003, 04:06 AM Well Koz, Here is my plan of attack. Since this is a new track that only a couple of people have made a hand full of laps. I felt the best plan of attack was to write down a bunch of different set up combo's. Then I taped them to the wall. I then took 5 paces, and and threw a dart over my shoulder. This is the same system those high dollar engineers use at nascar. Oh there is one other methed. You can tape the set up to a table and play spin the bottle. We are going out friday to wear out some tires and batteries. Hopefully by friday night i will be close or I will be spining the bottle saturday morning. KOZ 04-25-2003, 10:00 AM i meant after this weekend!!! what no crystal ball? JPH Racing 04-25-2003, 11:49 AM VegasJim: Please keep us informed on what you find out! It will be very interesting going to a track that size in June. You guys who are racing this weekend are getting a good jump on those who are not. Keep an eye out for Kenny from KC Racing and Justin Tuey, they both should be running their Mavericks this weekend too. Jake VegasJim 04-25-2003, 11:14 PM Koz, Had to give up the crystal ball thing. It was to much black magic/ smoke and mirrors. Living here in vegas we are working on a wheel of fortune thing. Its a secret so dont tell anyone. Now a word from our sponsors. After a full day of winds crossing turn three. The track is very nice. Its smooth and has real good grip. It is a flat out fast track. 540 ft race line, Pro Mods were runing mid 7s, Sportsman Mods high 7s low 8s, 19t mid to low 8s, stock mid to low 9s. The track is a slight tri-oval, turns 1/2 are differant than 3/4. To get a goo time you really have to be on the mark. It's real easy to loose 2 tenths in one lap. Gearing seams to very important. Gear for fast and you'll dump, so its a balancing act right now. The wind didn't help either. It was a head ind down the back straight and into 3/4. Then if a gust came you were Kirk Busch sideways exiting 4. I'll post a tread late tomorrow or Sunday. Maverick Racing 04-27-2003, 02:57 PM I just got back from the state race........there were only 4 mod cars so I ran 19t where there were 13 cars. didnt do too good in the first heat and sqeaked in next to last in the A main after a decent second heat. Had a good battle for the lead and then the other guy got taken out by a lapper and it was history from there. The car was flat out DIALED and very fast although I should have geared up. The '03 MOC is the Arizona 4 Cell 19T State Champion! KOZ Ill be sending your motor out by tuesday, I only ran it for about 4 minutes so there will still be a lot of comm life left. Thanks guys! TinManSEP 04-27-2003, 08:30 PM Jake..just wanted you to know that on my first outting with the new car and as the "new" (old) guy on the team, that the car was EXCELLENT!! From the first time I set it on the track it felt great, a few adjustments and managed to get TQ at our local track...although not as fortunate in the main car was still fast, easy to drive and through my own error finished 3rd. I have to say that this car was truly the first car that I have built that within the first few practice laps was absolutely confident that I had a winner, great job!!! More to follow!! RacingStorm 04-28-2003, 11:51 AM Maverick Racing Congrats on the win Saturday night (or was that Sunday morning?). You drove the best race and deservedly took home the trophy. Great run... RacingStorm JPH Racing 04-28-2003, 12:46 PM Cody: Sweet! Nice Job! Arizona 4 Cell 19 Turn State Champion! Congratulations! TinMan: Very nice! Glad the first outing went really well for you! TQ the first time with the car, proves an Old Dog can learn new tricks! Keep up the good work! Maverick Racing 04-28-2003, 02:02 PM Jake check your mail if you havent already, I sent you an '03 setup. Maverick Racing 04-28-2003, 02:04 PM Maverick Racing Congrats on the win Saturday night (or was that Sunday morning?). You drove the best race and deservedly took home the trophy. Great run... RacingStorm Thanks, but Im still wondering....Are you Perry or Paul? VegasJim 04-28-2003, 08:47 PM Jake, Well we ran the 03 car in sportsman mod. The car was perfect right out of the box. I didn't have to tune a thing. We missed TQ if I remember right by 2 seconds. (30 -4:04 / TQ 30-4:02) We were leading the main until scoring figured out that there was a problem. On the race re-run we were again leading until some sort of glitch hit the car exiting turn 4. By the time the turn marshal got things going straight we lost 2 laps. Oh well. I will post the set up in the next coulpe of days. thanks, Jim / Austin vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
