OBROCTO 09-02-2004, 01:33 PM Glad to hear it! Keep me posted as to how it is going or if you have any questions  Tom JPH Racing 09-02-2004, 04:09 PM Todd: Ride carefully, you don't want to fall off the bike when all those chicks mob you thinking you're Jr from Orange County Choppers! LOL Hopefully you'll come back to oval one day! Glad to hear you are doing well. Paul: The pod is a worthwhile upgrade. Whenever you're ready for one, you can order off our website. Remind me and I'll include some set-up sheets (I don't have them in a format that e-mails properly). They are the most detailed set-up sheet available anywhere, they cover all the adjustments on the car. Jimmy: You should have your new ride tomorrow! Please let us know what you think and how it runs for you. Tom: Yes, I can hold the price for you (for a few days). Florida Racers: Guys, what's up with all the hurricanes? Please take care, hope everyone makes it through this one safe. I'll take our California earthquakes over tornados and hurricanes any day! Good news, JPHRacing/Maverick will be sponsors of the '05 Snowbirds race again! blueracer55 09-02-2004, 05:12 PM one of these years when i get some help i'll be at the birds. till then i'll stay local. it really stinks when u can beat, and stay up with the birds boys, but you can't afford to go down there.lol  Kitestir 09-04-2004, 01:03 AM Hello everyone, been thinking of getting a OPC chasis. As I missed the sale, does anyone have a used roller that they would like to part with? Thanks Shawn David Butts 09-04-2004, 09:22 AM Florida Racers: Guys, what's up with all the hurricanes? Please take care, hope everyone makes it through this one safe. I'll take our California earthquakes over tornados and hurricanes any day! Good news, JPHRacing/Maverick will be sponsors of the '05 Snowbirds race again! Jake. I'm in northern Fl and we're still waiting to see if this thing takes a more northern path. If not, Those in central Fl will get hammered again. We here are still supposed to get a couple of days of really bad weather along with some flooding. Yikes Now the weather people are talking about two more storms forming off the African coast. TinManSEP 09-04-2004, 09:29 AM Jake...just sitting around watching and waiting on the west coast of Florida. I know Katfish and the boys from the east coast are packed up and headed outta town. Find some "rain tires" and maybe we can race somewhere...LOL!!!! We've had one weekend in the last 7 that we got a full race in...geez talk about withdrawl. Thank goodness for Football and Nascar, atleast we do have something to talk about around here. Hope all is well on the west coast... Later, Tin Man BMcAllister 09-05-2004, 09:03 AM Has anyone experimented with offsetting the front end on a flat bullring carpet track with a runline around 120ft? I am running a 03 chassis. thanks JPH Racing 09-06-2004, 07:10 PM Mr Butts: Hope everything went well with the storm ... Tinman: I know you'll get a chance to race again soon ... I guess Florida isn't the place for summer time racing! Glad to hear you made it through the hurricane in one piece. Katfish: How about you?? How about Rich?? You guys doing ok after the big one? BcM: I haven't run on anything that small in a long time. I'd give it a shot though, should make the car turn really hard! burbs 09-07-2004, 01:19 AM i havent done it with the maverick,, but we have one track around 117 flat carpet... i run my front end there offset to the right.. it seems to help the car drive off better burbs 09-15-2004, 06:29 PM cant wait till tommorrow when my mavericks show up.... car looks great OBROCTO 09-15-2004, 07:05 PM cant wait till tommorrow when my mavericks show up.... car looks great Which ones did you get? Slider or OPC chassis or both? I have a '04 slider with the pod that I have not run yet...... I got to make time to run it but would like to know how they are? Tom blueracer55 09-15-2004, 07:27 PM I'll have the money for the rear pod this weekend. Can't wait to try this car out. Racing for baby jane....www.geocities.com/advancespeedway burbs 09-15-2004, 08:46 PM 2 opc chassis. kits... i got one with the pod, and the other im going to run with the associated pod... Todd Gross 09-16-2004, 06:02 PM Trust me Tom, you'll be happy with your '04, I had alot of time in that one! Later, Todd OBROCTO 09-16-2004, 07:46 PM Trust me Tom, you'll be happy with your '04, I had alot of time in that one! Later, Todd I saw when it arrived that it was done up right, I just have not had time to get out to the track with it and see for myself...... It sure is a serious looking unit and it looks fast just setting there! How are things going with you?? Tom katf1sh 09-16-2004, 09:23 PM YO YO YO MY FELLOW JPH RACERS!!!! man o man am i tired of freaking hurricanes! rich has jet driers and holes in his walls with blowers running 24/7 trying to get the mold/mildew and rain water out of his house. i'm not a expert on estimates for hurricane damage but i would bet rich is at or over 20,000 in damage to his house! racing???what in the hell is that? haven't gotten to race my sled in 2 months time! saturday sept 25th at rpm speedway in orlando is race #4 of the florida oval series. i think we will get this one in? i have ran my car on carpet with the front end shifted over to the left..car ran awesome! too many people told me it wont work..so i gave in and now run it straight up! either way the car works flawless now..john foister sent me some tires to try out saturday so i'm gonna tru them up and see if i can find half a tenth in them! tinmonkey...i have been looking at the results from a few of those races at GT bray...you are lucky it keeps raining!! muahahahhhhh keep it between the pipes dad! jake..............wassssssssssssuppppppppppp i'm waiting for my 05...... hint hint....we have focar race # 4 sept 25th focar race # 5 october 22 and race rock version 6.0 in november and throw in the snowbirds warm up/turkey shoot race in november as well......rc driver i was told was waiting on my mug shot to print t he results of race rock version 5.0...man i look hot in a thong! you wont be looking at the maverick in my hands i tell ya! ahahhahahahahahahahh i'm still thinking about a rc survivor series.... snowbirds 2005 style one tribe camps near the porta potties they are called the "pupa" tribe..... on road nerds..........the other tribe (oval heads) camp in there rooms and beg the guy running the jackhammer at 7 am to stop! we will be called the "wepaid60forthis" tribe who is in? jake for president! jflack 09-16-2004, 10:05 PM The rear pod is very nice. If your looking for a very stiff chassis, the 04 O.P.C is the chassis for you. Very nicely cut, and good craftmanship all around. I ran it at SCU in Mississippi. It ran very good, even with me driving. I ran some 6.4s 19 turn and 6.2s in 6 cell. And I was running 1st generation 3300s, that hadn't been ran in over a year! Ran a 37 4:04 in 19 turn with a C1 at 88 watts.......4.60v battery at 30 amps.....sad I know.....all I had. Plus , I broke my golden rule of "Never run more than 1 class". I didn't finish well, but the chassis performed better than I had hoped. Good chassis and pod! JPHRacer 09-16-2004, 10:15 PM Kat: I'm in, and I know Jake is in too, but I never have to worry about the jackhammer, I slept though that thing all day and all night. I guess thats a good thing about being 18. I can and do sleep through everthing. Ask jake he'll vouch for that one. Se'ya in febuary, cant wait for this year, time to buckle down and rip it up. Stay safe guys, se'ya at the birds. Dave burbs 09-17-2004, 01:17 AM Well i just got done building my OPC ride.. It sure looks fast... Im suposed to run the paved regionals on sat for region 5.. I hope work lets me off.. they been on a 6 day a week run lately... ohh and 12 hour days... nothing like standing in a 100 degree weld shop, flaming metal together.. then trying to want to go race after LOL... anyhoo the car is built awaiting its first run.. cant wait.. thanks again jake....and my bro KOZ JPH Racing 09-17-2004, 12:38 PM Blue: Let me know when you're ready for the pod! Tom: You need to get that car on the track! I'm sure you'll have it up to speed in no time! Katfish: Man, I'm glad to hear from you! You guys are just getting ripped up by those hurricanes, when are they going to stop? Tell Rich we said hello, and sorry to hear his house got damaged ... Are you testing this weekend? And racing next? IT"S ABOUT TIME!!! Can't wait for the 'Birds ... We're gonna have some fun! Hopefully the jack hammers are all done .... The hotel should be beautiful, right?? Jimmy: Glad you like the quality of our products. The pod is kinda trick, huh? You ran the same chassis in 19 4 cell, and 6 cell stock? That can be a lot of work, even when things are going right! Keep us informed on your racing. Dave: Ok guys, he's telling the truth here ... Even when the jack hammers were in the room next door, he slept through it all. Most days I would have to wake him up and let him know when to race, or he'd sleep straight through. He's a great roommate for the 'Birds. Burbs: Concentrate on the welding! Don't think about racing ... You don't want to burn something you're not supposed to! Hope you get to the track in time for some tuning and a good race weekend. Let me know how it goes! Phil & Tinman: How are you guys doing?? blueracer55 09-17-2004, 12:53 PM i'm getting paid this weekend for a car i just rebuilt for a guy. so early to mid next week i'll be ready to order. thanks jake. paul OBROCTO 09-17-2004, 01:15 PM Blue: Let me know when you're ready for the pod! Tom: You need to get that car on the track! I'm sure you'll have it up to speed in no time! Phil & Tinman: How are you guys doing?? I'm up it the air on weather to get another '04 or wait for the '05........Can you e-mail me your thoughts Jake at racerx@zoominternet.net Thanks - Tom OBROCTO 09-17-2004, 01:17 PM I have everything (all black aluminum hop-ups  ) setting here ready to make the chassis complete, I just need to know what to do about a chassis  JPH Racing 09-17-2004, 02:56 PM Maverick Guys: I can't say much about the '05 ... yet. I will tell you this, it should be out around the Snowbirds, or at the very least prototypes will be at the event. This means it's at least 4 to 5 months away right now. I know this is a long time to wait, but it takes time to get everything 100% right. So far, with the design, I'm positive you guys will be impressed and excited about it. There's a lot of info I just can't share right now, but will be able to in the next month or so ... Trust me, we've been working hard on this project. I appreciate everyone's positive feedback and e-mails on our previous designs, and interest in the '05 Maverick. Jake CKappler 09-17-2004, 03:20 PM Ahh come on Jake. Not even one little tid bit about the 05 car. Tell you what. I have a brand new, crisp, 5 dollar bill with your name on it if you give us something. Please...Pretty Please :) Cory katf1sh 09-17-2004, 05:55 PM well jake i'll let ya in on a secret of mine...having me as a roommate is the same as sleeping next to a jack hammer..supposedly i snore a little? i have never heard myself snore..so it's realy just a rumor... orlando 2005 wooooooooooooo TinManSEP 09-17-2004, 06:45 PM Kat...who ever would say you snore alittle..I heard you always sleep alone (but there is always room on the DNA couch....LOL) OBROCTO 09-17-2004, 07:05 PM Maverick Guys: I can't say much about the '05 ... yet. I appreciate everyone's positive feedback and e-mails on our previous designs, and interest in the '05 Maverick. Jake Well as they say, GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT..... But the wait is killing us ;) Jake hasn't let us down with the previous cars so the '05 should be kick @$$ as well!!! But any tid bit of information would be GREATLY APPRECIATED  cneyedog 09-18-2004, 01:28 PM well jake i'll let ya in on a secret of mine...having me as a roommate is the same as sleeping next to a jack hammer..supposedly i snore a little? i have never heard myself snore..so it's realy just a rumor... orlando 2005 wooooooooooooo HELL YES HE SNORES ! ..... I'm lucky:rolleyes: I get nominated every year at the birds to room with Kat, why? supposedly i snore too? .... i can never hear myself so i think its a myth:cool: Jake, my house got damaged during hurricane charley and got some more during frances cause contractors are more than busy right now. I'm working on it though. My house has some damage thats gonna take time to repair, but its livable, I'm mostly a little wary about mold due to water damage, but I think it might not be that bad because the power didnt stay off long at my place somehoe and the a/c was on right after the storm was over, that may be a saving grace?....i'll know soon enough. The walls are dried out, and the roof will be re-done next week,(its still there, but missing shingles and some paper) the carpet that was wet has been taken out. so it smells better in the house, well unless someone pulls my finger.........lolololol. I try to keep things in perspective, while I've been inconvienced and have damage I'd rather not be dealing with. Watching the news for about 3 minutes makes me thankful for what i do have and that there is something left to repair, many people werent that lucky and are picking their belongings up out of their yards. so im not that bad off. One way or the other I'll see ya at the birds in 2005, when i get this mess sorted in the next couple months then I'll worry about if I can actually race the birds or not. It all depends on how much this ends up costing after the insurance has paif their part. I'm already outta vacation time, and will be here out the house when repairs get underway, so i doubt i'll build up much time....I WILL BE AT THE BIRDS FOR THE TRIP TO CHARLEYS WHETHER IM ENTERED OR NOT......and also either way I'll be creepin the halls at the RATmada during the birds even if its just a couple days. Take care, good luck with the 05 Maverick ! Rich burbs 09-18-2004, 05:47 PM Well i got to the track at about 9 am today.. I decided i would run 19t for regionals.. the first run the car was so stuck it was unreal.. it handled awesome, but was to planted... after 2-3 packs we got it free enough to start fine tuning it... i was just going out for my 4th pack, and my wife calls.... Oh the car just broke down... so guess what i got to do.. go try and fix the car.. end of racing for that day.. so much for regionals... this was suposed to be the last outdoor race for the season... then 3 weeks to the rug..cant wait to see how the OPC works on it... katf1sh 09-19-2004, 02:10 AM somehoe and the a/c was on right after the storm was over, that may be a saving grace Rich rich i think your wife may have some issues with the above statement? at least your priorities are straight! cneyedog 09-19-2004, 11:26 AM rich i think your wife may have some issues with the above statement? at least your priorities are straight! LMAO   :p David Butts 09-19-2004, 03:01 PM Jake and others. I'm pondering putting the 04 OPC on the track now that you mentioned the 05 car. What servo do most of you guys run or prefer thats compatible with the old futaba PCM's? Nothing I own radio'wise was made in this decade and I really dont think an s148 servo is gonna cut it. Nastruck or Fastruck as I call it is getting pretty popular here in Jacksonville. I've been a Maverick owner for about 8 months so it's about time I step up to Maverick racer dont ya think? burbs 09-19-2004, 05:22 PM s148 will work fine.. it has plenty of power.. and speed comparable to better servos... it is a bit large... the extra weight may hurt.. but performance wise u should be good... i know a few people who have run them for years... frank p. 09-19-2004, 08:18 PM futaba 9650 digital, ball bearing, good speed and torqe i run it in 4-cell mod blueracer55 09-19-2004, 10:29 PM jake i got the money today. i'll be ordering the pod asap.... hopefully paypal is good? burbs 09-20-2004, 12:29 AM i asked and couldnt use it , jake said he doesnt accept paypal... JPH Racing 09-20-2004, 02:42 PM Rich: I can't even imagine what it must be like to have that damage done to your home, but I think you are right, you're very lucky. Like I said, I don't know how you guys handle the hurricanes and tornados ... I'll take the earthquakes any day. Save a little of the budget for the snowbirds, wouldn't be the same without you! P.S. I think we'll get you running an '05 chassis, it'll be too good to resist! Katfish: I roomed with a friend named Rod at a big race ... He snored worse than anyone I've ever known. I didn't get any sleep in 3 days. Sorry, but I'll have to stick with Dave for the 'Birds. KOZ might be coming with us, he better not snore! Burbs: Bum luck! But, a man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do .... Especially if that means fixing the wife's car on raceday! Mr Butts: Stop pondering the inevitable and "Get 'er done"! I usually use the Futaba 9650. The Hitec mini's also work well. An S148 ... well, it'll get the job done, but it ain't light. I still have some of the old style pcm's. Don't use them much, but they are an awesome radio! Blue: Sorry, no paypal yet. Soon though. We take visa and mastercard, and we do cod's. Let me know. Everyone: The Mini Mav's are at the cutter, finally! Should be 3 weeks or so, and we'll have some to run. It's a limited batch this time, so if you're interested please send me an e-mail and I'll put you on the list. I'll have pricing soon. Jake katf1sh 09-20-2004, 05:49 PM the oz man cometh? sweet! blueracer55 09-20-2004, 07:39 PM guess i'll have to do cod. i hate credit cards.lol KOZ 09-21-2004, 12:01 AM hey kat-Yep,looking really good this time!! Mike@SteelCity 09-22-2004, 08:29 AM Just picked up the Maverick chassis to convert a new L4... Looking forward to see how this will run! Kitestir 09-22-2004, 05:47 PM I have a Maverick '04 on the swap meet right now. Great car, but I just have too many! If anyone over here is just interested in the chasis and performance pod with the extra upper and lower pod plates and the extra front end graphite parts let me know. I can keep the front arms and blocks axles etc and sell just the Maverick stuff. Email me and we can work something out........ Shawn cneyedog 09-22-2004, 05:48 PM Rich: I can't even imagine what it must be like to have that damage done to your home, but I think you are right, you're very lucky. Save a little of the budget for the snowbirds, wouldn't be the same without you! P.S. I think we'll get you running an '05 chassis, it'll be too good to resist! Jake Jake, that wouldnt bother me a bit, lemme see what happens in the next month or so then I'll have a better idea. Keep me in the loop though. Even if i cant make the birds it might be time for a new car anyway  Rich JPHRacer 09-23-2004, 01:44 AM Just picked up the Maverick chassis to convert a new L4... Looking forward to see how this will run!Awsome mike, if you have any question, just post them here, or e-mail or call jake. Setup help, whatever, just ask its here. Good luck with the new car, it will be a ripper for sure. Dave MARTIN 09-23-2004, 10:24 AM Will your performance pod work on other chassis such as ksg or hyperdrive,or are they non compatable? JPH Racing 09-23-2004, 12:16 PM Martin: Kenny from KC Racing runs our pod on his hyperdrive most of the time. I'm not sure about the KSG fit? For those of you in the Steelcityhobbies area, Mike's new track looks pretty cool! Mike, let us know how the chassis runs for you! Kitestir 09-24-2004, 12:14 AM I had a rough weekend with the Maverick '04 last weekend and wanted to get some advice. I know the car can do better, but I am just not connecting well with it. Here is what I was running: Track-Flat carpet short(maybe 80') tight corners. Setup- RF-Black spring/Jaco gray LF-purple spring/jaco blk RR-assoc blue spr/bsr white(soft)/35 wt oil LR assoc silver spr/bsr white(soft)/35 wt oil Center 40 wt/assoc green buggy spring(light),little if any preload Pod centered/two slot spring steel t-plate 1.5-2 degree camber. left caster 1 sim fornt and back, right both sims in front. Rear track 7.8" Front track 7.5" Front end mounted centered/top plate mounted back/2nd to longest wheelbase on bottom All electronics mounted on battery tray Battery's all the way back. Car had way to much bite in the right front. Car was loose off and went up in tire hardness/ springs etc with no help. Right front just seemed to plant. Scrubbed very noticeably off the corner. Any suggestions on setup changes to try? I also run a 5 degree banked carpet 92' centerline. any tips for this as well? Thanks Shawn burbs 09-24-2004, 12:23 AM your front springs are to stiff... try reds and greens.. with the stiffer chassis, u should be able to get away with whites... jaco black are a perfect right front tire...gray is good on the left...no stagger... or neg stagger... try putting the blue on the left and silver on the right...with a steel t plate id go 70 wt in the center.. green spring is good.. i dont like steel t plates on any car.. id try a 62 bias cut with a slot in it.. get the left rear tire lined up even with the left front.. it should not stick out past it... if it narrows the rear, add the difference to the right side... 2 degrees neg camber on right front.. 2 pos on the left... caster on right front, put both shims in back... and on left keep it split.. if u have adjustable caster blocks, right side bottom hole.. and left side top hole... if they are irs blocks, run them in the inner holes... line up you second cell from the front, with the front t plate hole... this is usually the sweet spot.. what kind of left rear weight were u running??? tire track?? body?? wing ?? stiffer front springs will work on banked carpet, as well as stiffer rear... it will be tough to run two diff tracks like that with one car.. make sure u write down your setup from each track, so u can make the changes when u go back to either one.. Kitestir 09-24-2004, 07:47 AM I was running paragon all around 5 minutes set time. I m running a mccalister Monte body. As for left rear weight, not sure how to get this, but I was running batteries all the way back in the tray, and speedo/receiver on the tray in fornt of them. As for running on the 5 degree banked track, what would you change from the setup above besides springs? Thanks for the help, I have been running for years, but never had a car that made the setup so important! I could be in the ballpark and get ok runs, but I never really learned how to "tune" the car well. So now I am going to start from scratch and learn everything that I can.......
