Mike, Thanks but I think I'm done for the summer, Motocross takes up my summer, so I'll get that out to you before too long, Thanks again.

Everyone: Hey guys, if you break a track record, win a main event, do will at a race, or just like our chassis, PLEASE let us know! I always enjoy hearing about race results, and what racers think about our chassis.

Katfish: How late will ya stay up? You know, based on Snowbird experience, there comes a time when lack of sleep will actually slow you down!

Bret: Motorcross huh? Let me know when you start R/C racing again next winter. And, ride safe!

Thank YOu very MUch!! I will be in the area and would like to try some racing in FLorida. I live in Maine so I don't race outside much so this would be fun. Also will you have any of those snowbird 19 turns motors for sale at the race. I see on the entry form that I would need to run one of those. Is this correct.

katf1sh

tourque..the snowbird motors are fully adjustable timing and run awesome..they should be 25.00 each same goes for the stock motors..as for the maverick chassis..i'm still off the pace with mine..but..

short wheel base green wolfe front springs silva black center spring 50 wt oil gold side springs off set pod try the standard purple fronts and pink rears..they made re surface the rock and that may change depending on bite..silva med soft t plate 40 wt oil in side shocks...phil owen is the resident outdoor expert..i'm sure he will read this and post some info asap..once you get there we can help each other..you may end up being the fast guy? lol

jake the first focar race went well..outside of a rc scoring pro snafu we all had a great time..being a promoter of a whole one race under my belt i cannot nor will not tell anyone to buy or use rc scoring pro..WOW!@$%# we had 52 entries with 45 members..mike boylan laid it down and took all the fun out of it! lol

Sorry guys, I've been a little out of the loop trying to recover from this virus ... It's been a week and my dsl computer is still off-line ....

Anyway ...

Mike: Got plenty in stock, can ship them anytime you want.

Katfish: Slow down when you're building your cars! The ride height adjusters should have the same # on them, and the #'s should both be up, or both be down.

Is the wheel base and body post locations on the '04 Maverick oval chassis in the same location as the AE10L4O, so that the bodies I have would fit without any modifications?

JPHRacer
05-10-2004, 11:50 PM
You can get it verry close but the body mount positions are very different. The Bumper is different, and so is the cross brace. I would not advise using the same body for the two cars.

I like running my OPC short on the tracks that I run on. It just the way I run them. When I ran an ASC car I allways ran that long, but my OPC is very good the way it is. Middle hole on the chassis, and middle hole on the pod.

JPHRacer
05-13-2004, 02:24 AM
What kind of track, and what kind of tires? The car is probably siding the rearend around too much. Too much of the car pivoting. You can try to move the batteris forward, but I'd like to know what tires and what track.

Dave I looked at the car the last time we raced along with Jerry it is the left front king pin sticking. You pick up alot of gunk racing at HW for some reason, you have to keep them clean plus his king pin spring was weak. This has happened to me there in the past, so when he asked us to look at the car I knew exactly what to look at.

team maverick, bsr, smc, big dog racing, PRS pinnion and spurs represented in fine fashion saturday at race rock in orlando florida! i'm proud to say that i got my mojo back!!!!!!!! the all star 4 cell stock class A main was fast and furious but when it was all said and done my maverick car had what it took to take the big win! turning the only 4.0 second lap in the main i lead almost every lap ...lots of brusied egos and some racers went home unhappy..but not this kat! i'm on cloud nine tonight! got my race rock jacket and finally beat the race rock jinx i had! first time back in a stock car in over a year also!felt good..i stayed out of trouble and kept the nose clean in the main.. man i am one happy camper! first victory for me on the bsr tires and first win outside with my maverick car! i'm stoked!

my 19 turn car was running 3.8's in the main and i was gonna put her in the big show as well...but that is a story i will leave untold...i'm more than a little disapointed with a fellow team mate..guess blood is thicker than graphite after all? lol a huge thanks to jake at maverick, john at bsr and danny at SMC for the sword of voltage..and dan mclinton of big dog r/c for all his help...it was a blast lots of drama played out all day i'm very happy with the results..

tinman (steve platt) had a great car and put it in the show in 19 turn but was a little off in the main? realy good to see tinman running fast again..

i'm not sure what tinman ran on his car but i found 80 wt center oil silver center spring silver side springs with 40 wt oil and a purple rf pink lf pink lr and a double pink rr worked great in both classes.. this was a small tight oval off set pod as well..grip was maybe avg....i'm tired and i think i lost my voice from screaming so damn loud..felt real good to get that monkey off my back...i took alot of abuse saturday but that win was extra sweet...

race results can be found here http://www.snowbirdnationals.com/cam/Results.txt

mike boylan had a live web cam and up to the second race coverage all day..yet another great thunder racing event..i think there were over a 100 entries..this event gets a little larger every year...it's a great locaion for a vacation and some racing action..i think mike will have another race rock race close to sept oct this year..jake bring kevin and the crew down? thanks again jake you da man!!!

congrats to my bud chris lawson for taking home the overall race rock champion points award..this was the best finish in 19 turn and stock. and i can forget that henrys son Jp again took home the hardware in rookie stock! that makes 2 in a row for him..jake may want to keep an eye on jp..

Jake We all made it home in one piece,Congats to Kat on his win in stock well deserved!! Tinman was also fast all weekend and made the 19t A- main,I won the B-main and bumped up to the A finishing 6 th overall. All in all the Maverick crew I think done real well we all ended up in the A-main. I myself struggled a bit until Kat turned me on to the correct traction compound, this allowed me to make adjustments to the car that would work, thanks Kat ! My car anded up with just about the same set-up as Kat but I was running rear steer. I found this to be strange especially since we use different setups and we were pitted well away from each other. A special thanks goes out to Jake for all his support , and to Ken at KC Racing for the motor advice and all his support.

Congrats to Phil and Tinman also, for making the show in 19 Turn! I know you guys all worked hard to put in good runs.

On the West Coast, Kevin Osmon finished 4th in Expert Mod and Expert 19 turn at the Norrca Nats. Had good fast cars in both classes, just needed a little more luck in traffic. Overall, Good Job KOZ!

To everyone: If you have any set-up questions, please ask. There are plenty of racer's on this thread more than happy to help. You can also e-mail me at anytime with questions. And, I really like to hear about race results, if you do well, please let me know!

IRS has released shaved lower a-arms for the Associated front end. This means you can run smaller diameter tires on standard chassis. But, importantly, it means that with the Maverick Oval Chassis, you can run you tires down to the smaller sizes. We have them in stock, or check out the IRS website.
