My hitec has it and I know the M8 has it as well. good racing of sunday you car was fast, I had a load of fun and I will see you at the track. rccarmaverick 04-05-2004, 09:56 PM The Ground Pounder race was a good time, it was nice to have as many cars in mod as we did! I hope that continues A strong 2nd place finish in the main was nice, it felt even better when i passed DW on the outside for the position,( HA HA)! Once again- can't thank everybody enough for all the help, i hope it shows!!! rccarmaverick 04-05-2004, 10:43 PM How is this car doing on concrete? Interested in the car The car is awesome!!!!! OPC and SLIDER both rip!!!!!!!!!!!! MobileMikeV 04-05-2004, 10:43 PM Which Maverick Racers are coming to the Roar Nats in two weeks in Sweansea, Mass? www.radicalricks.com Mike Voccola (mobile) JPHRacer 04-06-2004, 12:36 AM The Ground Pounder race was a good time, it was nice to have as many cars in mod as we did! Once again- can't thank everybody enough for all the help, i hope it shows!!! UMM, GW do we need to have another talk, I passed you on the ouside in 1&2 and you put me into the wall you putz. Next time when you pay someone to take me out, better pay them enough to now tell me about it afterword. Time to pay your bills Bi*ch. Ha ha ha ha. J/K bro. It was good racing with all the maverick guys on sunday. The mod turnout was awsome, couldnt have been better. TN the feature that you are looking for is called Dual Rate Over-ride. The R1 has it. Get it. Plus no other radio has the Bling Bling factor of the R1. Dave Swift Rc Silva Concepts KCR Modifides TM Tires President of the GW beat down club JPH Racing 04-06-2004, 02:11 PM Hank: Awesome! I'm sure you'll have it dialed in right away! Please let me know if you have any questions. Anthony: Oval can take a little while to figure out, you're on the right track (so to speak) though and doing very well! EW: Time for a new radio! Major upgrade, but well worth the $$ ... Any of the top models will do the trick. the only frustrating thing is no MFG's are saying when their top-of-the-line models will be released with synthesized equipment. Parrot: We do not have any concrete tracks out West. Hopefully someone will give their opinion. I'm sure you can dial our chassis in for any track though. The OPC will be better suited to a high banked track. GM: You are coming right along in modified! DW is feeling the heat! It's even worse now that his new flame is side tracking him from working on the cars ... Maybe Tinman could give him some advice on how to juggle women and r/c?? LOL Mike: I know Todd will be there, my schedule couldn't be cleared. What will you be running? DW: Poor Bitter Dave ... Grasshopper, one must learn to lose with style and grace, before one can win with style and grace .... Man, I can't wait for the next race! Modified up in Nor-Cal is exploding this year, and the smack talk is funny! Kevin has been untouchable so far, someone's got to step up and give that guy a run! 19 Turn will have a full field next race, I'll be back running it. Stock has been crazy competitive, Matt Groll is a force this year, as is EW, Robert Wise, Matt Senn, etc ... Out East, I hear that Phil has gotten his '04 figured out and even had time to strength test the chassis (full speed into a cement block, no damage to the chassis or bumper!). He'll be looking to post a new track record at Hobbyworld shortly. And props go out to Danny Mclinton, he's been on rails lately too, posting his best finishes and winning a few! Keep up the good work Maverick Crew! Jake David Butts 04-06-2004, 04:10 PM Parrot: We do not have any concrete tracks out West. Hopefully someone will give their opinion. Keep up the good work Maverick Crew! ================================================== ======== Hmm? I know this Parrott guy and he's fast enough already, We've been racing it up pretty good for the last month or so. Phil's wreck mentioned above? I witnessed it firsthand and picked up the smoking mess with me own two hands, It was nasty but no broken graphite. Dan? He's on to something too and again I saw his personal best runs. And also Hank is a local around here. Nope I still have'nt put my OPC on the track but with all the other ones locally I'm just waiting to break it out for some 19t action after or maybe during the current points season but right now 4c stock is really heating up over here. MobileMikeV 04-06-2004, 06:43 PM Jake: I run the maverick on the banks. On flat track I run the "other brand" I learned what happenned at the winter blast. I knew I had a good car, but nobody gave me the right rollout and I ended up running 2.35 for stock and I found out saturday that 19t rolls out at 2.50 so I guess I was a little low with the stock rollout lol. I have a good car now and the third and last time i run stock will be at the next big race there with a much higher rollout. Mike Voccola  rccarmaverick 04-06-2004, 07:37 PM DW! Where is that download putz. Give it up or my KC icon is going to punch you and DORAN through the monitor! Or do i just need to contact SUGE KNIGHT OSMOND TO HANDLE ALL MY QUESTIONS!!! I mean, he really only ran a 9 double in the main and wooped you by three laps,( Its all in the set up man, stick with me if you want to win) TIGHTEN IT UP IN 1 AND 2 B=TCH!!! KOZ 04-06-2004, 09:30 PM Dude i'm passing on next race with you guy's just to watch you two on the track....George don't you think Dave feels bad enough, tellin him about the 9 wind and all.... rccarmaverick 04-06-2004, 10:52 PM Koz, we will all like to finally see you move into the stock class, i know its been a while but just stay focused- you can do it!!! jUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude you RIp!!!!!!!!!! Iam just glad to get help from you, you know alot and are a very good driver! I PAY ALOT OF ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU SAY AND DO! DUDE- YOU SHOULD SEE YOUR THROTTLE CONTROL WHEN YOU DRIVE, IT REMINDS ME OF MATT FRANCIS, THATS A GOOD THING! George. JPHRacer 04-07-2004, 12:50 AM Oh come on guys, I missed one heat and still had a faster car then you. So you better step it up, next time when I actually get some qualifying time in, your getting droped faster then 3rd period french. : () Whats up now bro???? I'm not going to make it to rocks, at least I dont think that I will. I have a big bike race on that saturday, and if I make it back in time I will but otherwise I will probably be going back to delta. I want to race mod on that track again. I love it. I want to make NCRC, but I have a craving that I am havin a hard time shaking, and my fix is delta. So we'll see. DW Swift RC Silva Concepts KCR Modifides TM Tires President of the GW is going down in mod club. JPH Racing 04-07-2004, 12:55 AM Mr. Butts: Come on, get that OPC outta moth balls and onto the track! Come on out of the closet Big Guy! LOL Mike: Shame on you! You just need to put a little more time into that Maverick, it will rip on the flat tracks too! Either way, good luck at the Nats! KOZ, DW, GM: It will be a "Four Way Death Match" during the next race, cause I'm in on the action next time! And, I'll tell ya, I'm not finishing 4th unless my car is broken in two .... Which I'm sure George can arrange (according to Dave). Hey, let's move the Nor-Cal smack talk to rcracing.com. Someone start a new oval thread and let's have some fun. The guy across the US may not get that you guys are just having fun ... Jake JPHRacer 04-07-2004, 01:04 AM Ok, yah sorry for all of the guys that think that were a bunch of trash talking punks, were really not, ok well george (gw) is, but me and KOZ are definatly not. It all in good fun T.N. 04-07-2004, 12:17 PM Good Point Jake. Everyone talks about how our scene is tight like a family. Which is very true, but to outsiders who see us away from the track, we probably look and sound so mean to each other. Or mean to DW at least. DW, you're lame!!!! J/K :) I'm definitely going to get a high end radio as soon as possible. I just need to save up the $$$ Anybody looking to get into offroad? I over bought this winter and I need the radio more. TEAM NOVICE!!! (as seen in the new RC Driver) Moxie Graphics pepe 04-07-2004, 03:38 PM TN, You may want to consider a used radio,You can get a good high end radio for far less than new, decreasing your savings time. MobileMikeV 04-07-2004, 06:07 PM Don't worry Jake, the maverick will be hitting flat track for the nats in two weeks with the OPC on it. Then off to Maine with 10 extra bumpers and a bulk order of front wheel bearings... bigmattg 04-07-2004, 07:22 PM Jake KOZ in stock...He can't handle the slow!!!(j/k) Whats so wrong with stock huh????? That was the biggest class at the Ground Pounders. It's alot more difficult with 9 other cars to deal with. You mod guys seem to have it easy. (lol) You miss one race and now it's talk talk talk....... I'm going to have to annouce this race at the ROCKS club. It'll be like the 3 stooges going at it. I just can't figure out which one you will be. Any suggestions? Should be fun!!!! JPHRacer 04-07-2004, 11:28 PM Dont know, but you and I know matt that I'm the smart one. I got me a colage edgucation, or at least I'm working on it. : ) DW Swift RC Silva Concepts KCR Modifides TM Tires JPHRacing.com rccarmaverick 04-07-2004, 11:56 PM DW-Lets me and you race that clock in the stock class at delta r/c! Don't run those sinkers--HA HA HA!!!!!!!!! T to the P all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! T.N. 04-09-2004, 12:40 PM Okay, JR R1 vs. Futaba 3pk vs. Airtronics M8 Nedd advice and opinions Buying soon so let me have it. Also, In stock, where should the electronics go? I have everything on the left, pictures of my car are at http://www.jphracing.com/Eric_Wildt_s__04_Maverick_Oval_Chassis.cfm But is that overkill for stock? Should the weight be moved in to help the car roll? Jake, I know you have an answer for me. E.W. Team Novice Moxie Graphics MobileMikeV 04-09-2004, 01:31 PM I would leave everything on the left, especially flat track. An offset pod probably isn't necassary either in anything but mod. I have an M8 and like it very much. Easy to use, and many people use them if you ever need help. I think just the amount of people that use them is enough to say that it is a good radio. The Futaba also looks like a nice radio but I have seen them and they look very hard to use. Parts for the M8 also seem to be much easier to ffind than any other radio should you ever drop it from the drivers stand. JPHRacer 04-09-2004, 01:52 PM TN: I hated the M8, it was a comfortable radio to use, but operating wise it washella clumsy. If you are making a change on it like trying to change your modle memory, most of the time you would be stuck there for a few seconds scrolling through the menus. There are no quick keys, you got to scroll through it all to get to somthing. The R1 has tons of quick keys, as does the 3PK. The M8 also was a glitch monster for me, it had the worst reciption of all of the radios that I ever used. I went from a 3PJ to a m8 and for the first time I felt like a novice b/c of all of the problem with glitches. With the R1 I have had 1, in a year and a half with it. And that was with the FM reciver, with the PCM I have had none. The M8 is also the slowest of all the radios out there. It was a little slower then my 3PJ, but when I went to the R1 it was a big difference. My mind was used to the slow reaction of the M8 and I was hitting every dot going into corners, because my timing was off. It took a day to get used to it but in the end its only for the better that it is a faster. I have not used the 3PK, in a long term to tell you about the quirks with it, but I personally dont like the feel, but some people dont like the feel of the R1, hold them both and go with whatever one feels better. Dont try to tune your car with the electronics, leave then and work with what matter, suspension, tires, and body. You'll get out of the rut, dont worry. I just hope I can work on my cars a little so I can run with you! MobileMikeV 04-18-2004, 08:16 PM Well, my maverick OPC finished 4th in 19t A at the 2004 Oval Nats today. Unfortunately, I wasn't driving it! he he he Good run Brett Lund! I got spun out by the 10th place car in the same main. I was even told before the race that I was going to be stuffed! ahhh!! Good thing I remain calm when stuff like that happens. I know people who would have killed him. I was so calm that he put me almost a lap down, and I came back and got my lap back cleanly and cautiously. Good run Brett! Mike Voccola MobileMikeV 04-18-2004, 08:19 PM here are the results: http://www.knrcspeedway.com/Races/2004_roar_carpet_oval_championsh.htm red201 04-19-2004, 03:39 PM Jake phil was a rocket friday he has really got the 04 working. i think i had a shock bust in the main but other than that it was a pretty good nite. The Jet 04-19-2004, 03:57 PM Thanks Mike, That actually had to be the most fun race I've ever run :) It should have been a 2nd place but the announcer asked me to move over for the leader, when I was ready to pounce on 2nd but didn't realize he was 2nd. I had him so covered, I thought he was a lapper racin me, LOL, and since the announcer spoke up, I figured there was a race for the lead he didn't want me to interfere with, but sadly, I WAS THE RACE!!! Well, me and Mikes Maverick, wanna sell it??? Mikes Maverick narrowly missed the "A" in mod, I only needed to get a couple of seconds, but oh well. The ONLY MAVERICK in the "A" Maybe I need to look into getting one of these, who do I need to speak to??? Thanks Mike. Later, Bret katf1sh 04-19-2004, 05:58 PM hey jet you need to ask me before you are allowed to run a maverick car! lol nice run bud! on a rent a car no less? hey mike did you tell bret to go get his own damn car next time? lol days of thunder quotes kill me..muhahahah HEY PHIL NICE RUN ALSO! BOUT TIME YOU GOT THAT BOX STOCK MAVERICK UP TO SPEED! WHEN IS MR. BOX STOCK DAVE P GONNA COWBOY UP AND RUN 19 TURN WITH THE BIG DOGS? HE HE MobileMikeV 04-19-2004, 07:21 PM Don't worry about sending it back Bret, There are enough parts in that zip lock bag to build another car, or at least fix Rick R's car that was in the B-main at the nats. That thing is done! Everything in that car was broken except the battery tray. The steel T-plate even snapped! Ouch! :freak: T-plate, bumper, chassis, kingpins, tires, pod, axel, cross brace, batteries. I wouldn't be surprised if the motor can was bent after those hits! All you heard was oh! Oh! OH! from about Mike Voccola  JPH Racing 04-20-2004, 12:30 AM Mike: Thanks for lending Bret the chassis! Now it's your turn to put a Maverick in the A! I'm confused though, was the Nats at Radical Ricks, or K&N Speedway? Red: Phil called me the other day and told me he had the car going real good. Phil's modest, so when he tells me that, I know it's a rocketship! Bret: Nice Work! Sometimes the announcer is a blessing, other times a curse. And, it's oh so easy to lose track of the race in a busy A-Main. Was that your first time running Mike's car? Thanks for running it toward the front of the pack! Got your e-mail, I'll get back to ya real soon. Katfish: Ask your permission to run a Maverick? Easy son! LOL How did your weekend's racing turn out? PUF19 04-20-2004, 12:36 AM The race was @ ricks, but as I am the web master for K&N and was racing I told them i would post the results as soon as i got home for them...
