I wasn't sure you got the fax yesterday.I would prefer everyone run under the 2001 rules faxed to you and Autohaus with the new correction or addition. There is a reason but I can't say now. It was mentioned somewhere else about a ROAR class- this isn't but at this track you must be a Current ROAR member. Membership is available at the track.

Hey guys I l won on e-bay a novak millineum (not pro) charger for $40 including shipping. This I suppose will charge both the ni cd and mi nh batteries correct? I hope its atleast more current(as in with the times) than my newest digi peak plus charger. I'm really jones'in for some racin action. Even gran turismo two has lost its magnetic appeal since I grabbed a transmitter again. I bid on a hyperslug car today too. I got it bad! :dude:

Hey up in the attic I went the other night and to my suprise I was able to find my plastic legends hubs. Even located a couple of the little diff ring adapters too. Cleaned up the old coupe body And took my daughters name off the roof and replaced it with the prerequisite "Butts" I hope she doesnt notice. After takin all my cheatin stuff of it probably wont make a lap at speed(kind of an oxymoron about a legends car)but weather permitting I'll be there saturday night. I hope Leons there so he can give some pointers. I wonder how he feels about the track being called Tuffy's on here when its in his back yard. I bet dems fightin words

well don if you won the race you would be the region 4 oval champ! doesn't mater where you live! as long as you have the cash to sign up! lol

BullFrog

Not so fast katfish. This race is just for region 4 roar members. If you region has a oval regional you would have to race there. If not you could race here if your region director and my self gave you the okay. But you could not run in the A mains because you have to be from that region to be the champ.
Since this race is going to be held at Palm Valley Speedway here are the special Rules(okayed by ROAR).:
We will because of limited parking be hosting weekly races for qualifying to come to the race. By Qualifying you will be qualifying for a "parking space ". This race will be limited in size to about 45 cars(parking). If more than one person comes in one car that okay.
There will be no trailers or generators allowed. There will be two pit areas with power.
The qualifying will be for 35 parking spaces with the last 10 (to make 45)to be held by a random drawing for those that can not make the trip for qualifying.
Qualifying will end on October 18th. If enough racers have not pre-entered the race in will be cancelled by October 19th.All race fees will be refunded 100%.
Classes: Legends- $25.00
1/10th Stock - foam tires and handout stock motor-$45.00
1/10th 19T - foam tires and ANY ROAR LEGAL 19t motor-$35.00
The stock motors will be GM3. Legends motors and batteries will be teched before the race and will be marked. They can be claimed after each race

no don no me! 2 more parking spots just opened up,lol. sounds like this will take nearly 6 months to get all the A mains set? rain and race conflicts will make this nearly impossible? good luck though..

i know i'm crazy..but something other than a event that does not allow everyone to race in would be nice? poor phil and don cannot race for the win? as well as anyone else in georgia? this will be a locals only race huh?

Explain last sentence please............ " claimed ".

BullFrog
08-10-2003, 09:06 PM
it means if some wants to claim your motor or batteries they can claim them after each race for the price we establish at the track- I beleive that has been "posted" over there for several months.

bullfrog if we race in Jacksonville on a regular basis we can race region 4 races, since those are the closes tracks for us to race at. All we have to prove is these are the tracks we race at on a regular basis,DON and I went through this a few years ago,to enable us to race a region 4 race,if I were you I WOULD CONCENTRATE ON LEGENDS since you are the authority on it.

So, let me see if i understand this ...... for this region race at Tuffy's ..... in order to race in it, you must live in region 4 (the state of florida).....and only the people who live in florida can race in it......UNLESS.....you get a special invitation from the region director (bullfrog) saying that you can come race at it....with one little stipulation .....OH YEAH.... even if you do accept said invitation and drive down to race ..... you cant win the region championship..... so why bother driving down from georgia ?? ....just call this.... the "Residents of florida only oval championships"..... its way more accurate.

Echeconnee
08-10-2003, 10:14 PM
I believe the information on who can race and who can't is incorrect. Some one from region 3 can race and win the region 4 race and be champion for that region but then they become inelidgable to become region champ in any other region including their own

Echeconnee

from the 2003 roar rulebook pg15:

2-49: Drivers in regional championships must have resided in the Region for a minimum of 3 months. Exceptions to the residency requirement are permissible if authorized by the affected region directors . Regardless of current regional residency. members are limited to one Regional Championship per class, per year

2-50: For Promotional purposes, the region director may authorize any invitation to an out of region driver to participate in a regional championship provided that the driver is a roar member and that they understand they will NOT be eligible to compete for a regional title, and will be excluded from the mains in all but provisional or demonstration classes.

so bullfrog..... does this mean our friends from the peach state can come and race and become region 4 champ ??....this is kinda confusing.....it says the regions director(s) can ok you race by giving you an exception to the residency requirement...... but then in the next rule.... it says you cant win the region if you race?? ..... or if you get a pass from the director initially for residency does that allow you to win the region ??......im confused  .......but then what else is new...... :jest:

You have to be from Region 4 to race or win the region title. If there is no region race in region3 then the region directors have to be contacted about letting someone race in the race. However they can not race in the A main.As for contacting ROAR that has already been done before we set this up.Foams are the only tires used on this track. You can go back to page 17 on this forum #328-329 for pictures of the track. Any other questions - you can contact me on the phone.

Region 4 is Florida - its been that way since 1990.

katf1sh

the idea of a region race i understand..but how many other "regions" consist of just one state? hawaii? alaska? lol again i must offer up my idea...lets call it something else and allow "everyone" to enter and have a chance to win? lets not be racist anymore...don and phil i suggest you contact roar this week and make sure they understand your problem...

rich: don a long time ago was allowed to race a dirt oval region race in florida..he qualified for the A main 3rd i think? and guess what? bill was there to tell him he could only win the B ? lol history repeating itself over and over again... phil and don also contact tuffy or his father via email..i know he doesn't need excess phone calls..and tell them how you feel..i will do the same..i like racing with all you guys and it wouldn't be a race without you guys..

as for the no cap rules wade: it is no big deal..it will save some money for some folks and the track is not large enough for excess wear on your tires..realy the track has good traction and tire wear is avg..something like 3 purples and a red right front works..

honestly::: how many from georgia would consider racing in this?

biggest problem tuffy has is parking space..it is in a residential neighbor hood in his dads back yard. beautiful indoor a/c pits well lit track and if you were to wake up in a dream you would swear it was a mini lake whipporwill ! lol

it sounds like the parking problem will eliminate any B or C mains being run on the same day? sounds like parking for maybe 30 cars? no trailers? rv's ?? i dont want to see tuffy or his dad get in any trouble over any r/c race? what exactly do they plan to do? you enter get sent a letter back telling you what day you qualify on? than get another letter later on telling you where you ended up at? than send you a letter telling you when you run your main? something along those lines? sounds tough? phil and don let us know what happens...i would like to see something worked out.. peace

fish I don't know where all the knowledge comes from.Florida has been a region by itself since 1990.As for your comments about qualifying and others is off base.I have been talking with both Tuffy and Leon about this for three months waiting to see if anyone else even wanted to host this race.During the same time I talked to ROAR about what we were planning before I put it out here for everyone to see. This is an experminetal type of Region race.ROAR knows it I know and even the fish knows it.It was done this way because of the parking- if we can find more we'll post it.We will not be racing this weekend because of the carpet series but we will post the race schedule soon.

You guys kill me! Regionals are for regions (set by ROAR), Worlds are for everybody...unless you're from Mars, Nationals are from each nation. If the Out of Region guys are upset, then they should organize their own Region race. It doesn't matter if you live five minutes from the track or five hours, it's a matter if you are in that region or not. Why is this so hard for people to understand?

"Residents of Florida only Oval Championships"...... yes, thats called Region 4 Oval Championships!

:

Hey Bill from reading rule 2-49 they say that anybody from a different region can race as and run for the title as long as you and that drivers region director allow him to race. but he can only run for one regional a year.

rule 2-50 says that if you want to invite Josh Cyrul and Joel Johnson down to help promote the event that they aren't eligible to run for the championship.

thanks dave! i guess the ol' guys like turbohound dont read without bi focals on! ahahahahahahahahaha let the games begin! troy what is the proper title for a garbage man? i guess rich hit the head on the nail with that one! lol i didn't see a masters oval class listed? was this a typo?

there are 13 regions divided into 50 states..with florida and hawaii being the only ones with there own region? fix this and put us in with GA and the other 4 or 5 states...thanks bill depending on how you read the rules..it sounds like don and phil can come race for the win? heck invite josh cyrul while your at it! lol

Hey guys all this bickering is getting really old really quick. Let me put forth this simple conjecture. Lets say for instance that the rules read is as follows in lay terms. If you're not a region four resident you cant win the championship. Ok can the racer called Georgia boy still run in the A main and win the race? What if he won the race but since its the region four race and he doesnt reside there but the runner up who's name just happens to be uh hmm Florida boy is crowned the champion. Sure he lost uuuhhhh I mean came in second but he's still the region four champion right.? This of course is a huge can of worms and I'm sure it'll be opened over and over again. I understand Phill and Don's plight as I when racing with them in the past I always considered them local racers who just happened to have driven down from south Georgia which is really just north, north Fl anyways(oops!) The main problem arises when that eleventh qualifier who would've been number 10 in the "A" main realizes that he's/she's where he/she is because someone who cant win the race is qualified ahead of him/her. Oh what to do? Bill is gonna have his hands full on this one and it's one call I wouldnt want to have to make. Damned if you do, Damned if you dont. And like I've said before we all dont have to love each other(that'd be strange and messy)but it sure would be nice if we could all just get along or maybe just bite our tounges sometimes.

Davepull....I'll anwser for BF.....If you are not a ROAR member, then your opinion doesn't matter, because only ROAR members are elgible for a ROAR race (much like you can argue all you want about President Bush, but it doesn't matter if you didn't vote).
